Outstanding Service

Was at Lidl 9795 Liberia Ave. Manassas Virginia and was assisted by Ray. He is a great asset to Lidl in providing customer service that went above and beyond. He made my husbands and my visit wonderful. Will definitely tell all our friends and family to go to this store.

Lidl defrauding NYS SNAP

Discovered Lidl is defrauding NYS SNAP benefit customers and the State by charging and collecting additional fees for paper bags - made me pay for both Publication 718-B, Paper Carryout Bag Reduction Feethe 5 cent fee plus 12 cent tax per bag!

In accordance to The five-cent paper carryout bag reduction fee does not apply to customers purchasing items using the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) (whether used as full or partial payment for items purchased);

I contacted Lidl, and after one week claimed they emailed me requesting the receipt, knowing they can access their own records. Of course I had it, and will provide proof DIRECTLY to the NYS Dept of Taxation. Let the Agency follow up in accordance to the LAW and Lidl deal with the government instead.

Went back today to your store in Folsom


Went back today to your store in Folsom Pa. Returned Horizon milk that I opened today. Put in my coffee it did not tast good at all. After taking a few more sips I knew it was the milk. Returned to store. I was given a refund and told that I can call a number that is on the bottom of the Store sales flyer. The person who presented themselves as the manager was a nice kid that had no clue really and looked like he just graduated high school. Not his fault that he is not trained properly. All I expected was for someone to take my information and call me in case I get sick. I don’t want anything else. The level of unprofessionalism is mine blowing. I have managed a large very large supermarket fir most of my life. I was trained in proper protocol and what I witnessed today from this company is absolutely deplorable yes I will be calling headquarters tomorrow.

Today Sunday, September 3, 2022

Today, I went to Lidl store on at 2187 Frederick Douglas Blvd in Manhattan NY. I put my water bottles in my shopping bag and in my shopping cart for easier access to pack, as I was doing this the manager was near me and he could see what I was doing. Then I headed to the checkout to pay for my water. When i got to the checkout counter I noticed the male manager with a light blue shirt and dark navy blue sweater vest looking at me through the window from outside. I told the cashier how many waters i had, i even lifted my bag with the water inside so she could scan all my items. While i was at the counter i noticed a security guard watching all this, standing right in front of me, then he walked away. When i got outside another security guard approached me and asked me for my receipt. I showed it to him, even though I was confused as to why he was asking me for it. I asked him why, and he didn’t have any explanation to why he asked me. And he didn’t apologize for stopping me, and accusing me of stealing, then I left. Also, I noticed at register 5 there was a cashier with her cell phone, i think she was recording all of this. I feel like I was being discriminated against based on my race. I’m very upset about this and will never shop at the Lidl store again.

More choice in cat food

I went into Lidl last week to find some jelly cat food, and found the High Life boxes, I purchased 2 boxes and found out that he really likes eating theTuna loin in jelly+ the tuna loin and sardine in jelly, + thereare also meat versions also.
Being that our cat enjoys constant change of food meals,we now have more options to feed our cat El cid.

Poor and unprofessional service

What a disrespectful service I got from Lidl! Today, I went to the Lidl store in McLean, VA and purchased a lot of the stuff. During the check out process, I did not scan my member card and the cashier did not remind me either. As those Lidl customer might know, customers are not able to see the item prices and did not know if discount on certain items were applied or not. By the time, I realized the issue and return to the store requesting for adjustment of the prices. The cashier was very rude and impolitely asking me to stand aside. I asked if there is a customer service desk where I can seek for help. No, the cashier said, "We don't have customer service desk." The attitude and manner that the cashier conducted was so rude. At that point, I decided that it is not worth of my business here and just left. Customer might not always be right, but customers needs to be treated right.

It might be just one time instance. But, it only happens in Lidl. Comparing to other local supermarkets, Giant and Safeway, it is like night and day different. The cashiers and customer service from those two store are always respectful and friendly to their customers. I just can't believe that Lidl don't think their customer service is important.

Very disappointed

Very disappointing. I went to Lidl yesterday (to, of course, save money) and the prices were equal to, or more than, Wal-Mart (on most items). I don't think I will drive the 40 minutes to the closest Lidl when Wal-Mart is only 10 minutes away from me and the prices are comparable. 😞

Lidl Henrico Va

Lidl Henrico Va. Staff was, like others say, not friendly. Does Lidls purposely hire anti-social applicants? But more important, I bough their brand honey wheat bread last week.and kept it in the fridge ( like I've been doing for 10 years) and today its got green mold. I haven't had that happen in 10 years.
something is definitely going on with how they prepare their bread.

The East Rockaway NY LIDL Out-of -date food and slimy produce

The East Rockaway NY LIDL store is within walking distance of my house, so I have tried to go there. Frequently, I have found out-of-date products on the shelves. They don't know about the need to chill produce and often the fresh fruit and vegetables are warm and on their way to being slimy. Bread bought there gets moldy in only a day or 2, which also suggests it's being kept improperly. Live plants get no care and are usually dying. It seems like no one is in charge there and they definitely don't know what they are doing if someone is. Anyway, I'm done, I don't have these issues at Stop And Shop or Key Food, the other stores in the neighborhood.

The items smelled like mold and tasted like mold. Absolutely disgusting and unacceptable.
I couldn’t get to the store on time. I was returning something that was past 30 days and was told I can’t have a refund or store credit if the item was purchased in more than 30 days, which apparently is their store policy - but you wouldn’t know it because it’s not posted anywhere in the store OR on the receipt.
On top of that, the customer service manager was rude and argumentative, started yelling at me like I did something terribly wrong.
I worked in customer service for over 25 years and we never treated customers like that.
Lesson learned.
Sadly, I will never again shop at Lidl and will discourage everyone I know from shopping there.

Low prices but low customer service as well

Update;
It turns out the app has a continuing screen and when clicked on, in fine print it says one time use. I'm now guessing the discount was used in my prior visit. If that is what happened, the offer should disappear to eliminate confusion or at least that one time only use should be up front and not require a second screen to view. Because of that, I've upped it one star. Nothing I experienced explains the lack of training and rudeness of staff including management.

I've been shopping all month at the nearest store. Their loyalty program monitors the spending and gives rewards that included 30% off select frozen. I bought many eligible items only to find the discount didn't register. I went to the cashier who verified the items but suggested I call customer service. A manager then came over and indicated they had no control over their computers nor the loyalty program. I asked why couldn't a manager override the register and issue a discount (or refund since I already paid) but was told they couldn't. I even asked what happens to others as I doubted I was alone. She basically ignored me. Bottom line is I returned every item. Why should I have paid full price and then try to get a refund when the reason I went today was because of the promised savings? Another issue with Lidl is multiple times the leader item advertised was not in stock. I disappointedly wrote those episodes off given today's world but now I wonder if they planned it.

Horrible experience, Disrespectful service.

Actually, it's a zero star if I was able to rate it like this. Customer service and checkout are just awful. My last experience there was horrifying a new guy did a mistake for me when checking out. He puts that I took 6 'rustic baguettes' instead of 6 'French baguette' so I went back to tell him respectfully that he had to give me 4 more dollars. To my surprise the guy was so rude telling me that he didn't anything wrong and that this is what I bought. I kept explaining that both breads are so different (one was white the other was brown) and that he saw what I bought initially when he scans it. However, he insisted to treats me like a liar then his manager came and I thought she is going to fix it but she made it worst. She just confirmed what her collogue said by saying 'go back to your car and bring the bread with you to make sure that you bought the French ones if you want your money back' I was feeling like a liar and a theft.
I had a baby with me and I wasn't even able to waste that much time in proofing to these people that I'm not even fun of the other type of bread they put in my receipt.
As I turned my back, the manager (she was a short girl with a dark skin and a circular face) starts gossiping me thinking I'm not understanding (Because I'm an immigrant). She was making humiliating Gestes with her face and her hands telling the checkout guy that I'm weird. When I saw her Gestes I told her that she doesn't have to treat the clients this way but she starts yelling at my face in front of everyone. She almost kicked me out saying 2"go bring the bread without extra talk and get out of my face" "I Don't want to hear anything". I Brought the bread; they saw that I was right but they didn't even say sorry about what happened. Finally, I discovered that the employees or whoever is taking care of the bakery staff were mixing up the package of both breads which caused all the confusion but they didn't even want to say that.
Rude disrespectful and very racist people don't go there.

Worst customer service ever

Worst customer service ever! Rude disrespectful and don’t take us being a customer seriously at all. I have tried to shop there 5 times and now I’m done. First time must have been their only good day. Every time since it gets worse. Only been in the United States 1 year and your reviews are horrible! Last straw selling a leaf blower with out the battery? Can’t use it? And nobody knows where the battery is? They have no care whatsoever about you being there customers! Go to Aldis they treat you with respect.

With their attitude they won't last long.

We have been trying to be faithful shoppers to Lidl BUT it's now obvious they don't give a dang about customer retention. Its 35 miles round trip for us to shop there. Been there 3 times to buy gallons of Spring Water to drink. Today I try to call the store to check to see if they received any. Their system does NOT allow you to call a store. You can check stock in specific stores on line BUT its not accurate. So after driving there the 4th time I was told by an employee to call Customer Service and tell them the system is not working. SO I did. The girl I spoke with said I can call the 844 number and they can check a "better more accurate system" SO I asked he to check 2 stores. She said they have plenty of stock and asked if I would like HER to call the store to verify. She did and NEITHER one had any stock. SO I said I will shop at the competition from now on. Her reply...."OK Good Bye" That will be the last time my car is parked in their parking lot!

Absolutely horrible meat department

Absolutely horrible meat department. 5 times I bought rancid meat that was no where near the expiration date. When I returned my spareribs the last time the manager said he would not remove the remaining packages off the shelves. He also lied saying no one has returned meat there which is a lie because I did more than once. I really tried to support this company now I will go on every social media warning customers to stay away. They don’t care about their customers just about their pockets.
Wish I could give negative stars

What the heck happened to Lidl?when they opened, the bakery was to die for. For us here in the US, we discovered a taste of Europe via the french rustic baguette, pain au chocolat, raisin bread, vanilla twist..
Now..you can barely find them
Rustic baguette?? Recipe changed, they just let the same shape to fool us
Most of good stuff have been replaced with "crap"

Went to york store today the store is nice an clean but checking out was bad I got to the register there was a sign witch said cash or ebt cards go to register 6 I did that as I was going there the girl was walking away my daughter ask her if she was going back she shook her head no I went back to the line I was in there were two full carts ahead of me I hollered at her why do you have a sign if no one is there she would not even look at me an I think she was a manager needless to say I left my cart sit an left

Some great products and price!

Some great products and price!

I have about 15 items that Lidl Carrie's that beat the other stores in price and very good and consistent quality. That includes dairy, bread, bottled water, eggs and juice. I have tried their shrimp and meats all very good and reasonably priced too. Their selection is not wide but so what if the quality is good?
Shop weekly and get my weekly staples for my groceries.
