The gym is toxic and dirty
The gym is toxic and dirty. The staff just sits there and doesn't care that we are working out in filth,let alone a boring extremely quiet dump.I wouldn't be so upset if we all hadn't told them about the drug dealers and the dirty rags left at every machine. The management is the problem.

I am still waiting on the refund for the Pilates classes I was fraudulent enrolled to and which I never attended. The gym is making money on customers by providing disinformation and behaving in unacceptable manner. It’s unlawful to get money from the customers in a deceptive way.

I went in person on December 16 2026 to the Bartlett tn location to cancel my membership and was told a manager would cancel it the next day. Instead, they placed my account on freeze without my authorization and continued charging me. I did not authorize a freeze, a restart, or any continued billing.
I was also told they had already “met their cancellations for the day” / had too many cancellations that day. That is one of the most ridiculous excuses I have ever heard from a business. If a customer comes in to cancel, the cancellation should be processed — not delayed, ignored, or turned into an unauthorized freeze.
I have called and emailed multiple times, and I still feel like I have been given the runaround while charges continued. This has been an extremely frustrating and unacceptable experience.
If you sign up here, keep documentation of everything and watch your bank account closely. I would strongly caution anyone before joining this gym.
Prosper workout dump
LA Fitness in Prosper is completely out of control. Overcrowded past legal fire marshall code, absolutely dirty and sweaty machines, no wipes at all, kids under 10 playing on the machines, management shows no indication to make things better they just want more memberships sold. A complete trash bin that needs to be closed or remanaged, do not waste your money.
The Kids Club staff at LA Fitness on…
The Kids Club staff at LA Fitness on Addison are very nice, but management has handled the baby equipment situation poorly. I joined because I was told they accommodate babies starting at 3 months old, yet most of the baby equipment is old, faded, broken, or missing altogether.
The two swing chairs for babies have been broken for weeks. Management repeatedly told me new chairs were being ordered, only for me to later find out they were never ordered. They then brought used chairs from another gym, and those do not even work either.
There are no playpens, no mats, and barely any proper equipment for infants. Now I have to carry my own baby swing/chair every time I go to the gym while management continues delaying a real solution.
It’s frustrating to spend extra time and energy bringing baby equipment and repeatedly trying to resolve an issue that should have been fixed already. The manager only offered $15 for the inconvenience, which does not make up for the wasted time, stress, and poor communication.
If a gym advertises childcare for babies as young as 3 months old, they should actually provide safe and functional equipment for them.
Denied access
Denied access to the club even with a valid pass. Reason = it was after 5 pm. The gym wasn't crowded and wasn't due to close for another couple hours. Nowhere for the fine print of the guest pass was a 5 pm time mentioned.

There's a member who keeps calling me kike and yet they took away my membership for nothing, but complaining too much
ATTENTION PARENTS
ATTENTION PARENTS: DO NOT send your child here. My son was exposed to pornography by one of the staff members on her laptop. There are strict policies against allowing staff to have electronics out or allow a child to be on one of their personal devices. Not only did she have it out, but she allowed him to play games on it where he accidently clicked on an open tab of her naked. The manger then asked my husband and I, "what would you like us to do about it?" She then falsified the incident report by saying the matter was handled and we were very happy with the outcome. Not true. The employee was not fired, she was relocated. Fast forward a few years when my son finally built up the courage to go back knowing that same person wouldn't be there, he broke is arm due to overcapacity of children, negligence, and lack of control of the children in such a small space. We have discontinued our membership which is what we should have done a long time ago.
Aside from these events, I also have two toddlers who I have witnessed walking around with sharp pencils and climbing ontop of chairs with them in their hand. If that's not enough, my not even one year old, was walking around a large group of big kids who play rough. There is a designated enclosed area for the babies, so I'm not certain why she was subject to being injured out in the open. To top it off, my other two year old daughter was given a phone by one of the staff members to watch movies on that she is not allowed to watch at home nor did I give them permission to do this. Seeing how my son was exposed to nudity on the last device given to him, I would have never allowed this. Again, the staff is not supposed to have electronics out or allow the children to use the staff's devices. The capacity for this tiny space allows for there to be over 50 children. The ratio for staff to children is 1 staff member to 10 children. They do not have the right amount of staff on the premises to accommodate for that type of capacity. There were times when the amount of children to childcare workers over exceeded the legal ratio. The childcare workers, although nice, are not professional and they have 0 control over the kids. This is not a safe place for children.
The sales guy here is the most useless
The sales guy here is the most useless, rude and unprofessional human I have ever come accross. I tried to redeem a guest pass and he couldn't even explain why I cannot redeem a pass because the Director or manager was unavailable. Wouldn't listen and was so impatient. Ended up walking out on me in the conversation. He should definitely not have a job in the service industry.
Do not sign up with La fitness
Do not sign up with La fitness . They first tried to charge you for first month and last month. But in the contract they don’t informed you that after the 14 days you sign up with them, they are going to charge you an annual fee of $69. My fiancé and I paid $70 paying for the first and second a month. We have to pay 35$ per month. The guy that was handling our paperwork didn’t tell us about the annual fee after the 14 days so when I get a call from my bank, it’s noticed as fraud for a $69 charge. So not only are you paying $70 you’re paying another $ 69after a 14 days of being a member. So in total you’re really paying $140.00 that first month . I’ve only been to the gym for a week and a half and I had to pay $140. Plus another $35.00 for my monthly charge fee . It’s crazy how they don’t want to give you the full detail on what they’re charging you and it’s only the first two weeks of being a member. Then they try to get money from you when you’re angry and you try to cancel the membership. Cancellation was also frustrating . I would rather spend my money on a membership. That’s honest with me about what’s going to be charged and give it to us detailed by detail without leaving something out. Don trust gyms like that . Would not recommend La fitness

If you are planning to sign a contract with them for any reason be sure to read the fine print. Customer service is horrible. They do not try to help you if something comes up that you have to cancel including injuries. They don’t care. I signed up for a personal trainer for 3 months then started having knee issues. My orthopedic surgeon said I have bone on bone and scheduled me for a knee replacement. In the meantime he ordered physical therapy so I decided to cancel the personal trainer but they wouldn’t let me out of the contract. Then when the 3 months were up, they continued to bill me. When I called to find out why, they said it was up to me to call and cancel or I would continue to get charged. When I told him I haven’t been there because I thought my contract was up, he said there were no refunds my sessions would be banked for future use. They truly do not care about their customers so be sure you read the fine print before signing anything.
Billing and Operations
I’m very disappointed with how LA Fitness handled a recent billing issue.
My wallet was lost, so I had to cancel my credit cards, including the card used for my membership. I proactively notified the team before my billing date, explained the situation, and let them know I was waiting for my replacement card.
Despite that, I began receiving repeated calls, including early mornings and weekends. I explained the issue, but the calls continued as if no one had noted the account or communicated internally.
This was not a refusal to pay. It was a temporary card replacement issue that I brought to LA Fitness’ attention in advance. The repeated follow-ups felt aggressive and unnecessary, especially after I had already made every reasonable effort to communicate.
Customer service should not require members to explain the same issue over and over to different representatives. I hope LA Fitness improves its internal communication and billing follow-up process so other members do not have this experience.
While the gyms are great, the systems are BROKEN.
My yearly visits to Edmonton
I travel to Edmonton twice a year to see my family. I have an LA Fitness membership in the US which doesn't need to be honored here in Canada, but the incredible staff at the LA Fitness in the west end of Edmonton are ALWAYS very kind, helpful, and willing to allow me to use the gym for my short stay. The gym is always extremely well maintained, the clientele are kind and hard working, and the equipment is almost always in perfect repair. My hat is off to the people who run this excellent establishment!

I love this gym. The workers are really cool. Everyone keeps to themselves. If you join, talk to Dave,or Roman there the 2 head guys that run the gym. There really cool people.

My husband and I signed up for a membership and within 1 week realized the club was farther from our residence than we thought and that we would never use it. We paid $200 to sign up and never stepped foot in the gym within that week. We cancelled our membership within 8 days of signing up.
On May 14th I noticed a $150 pending charge on my account. I called LA Fitness customer service immediately and was told the charge would drop off because my account showed as no longer billable.
Fast forward to today, May 18th. The charge absolutely processed on my account. And when I called customer service again I was informed, by a snotty supervisor that liked to interrupt me, that I had to pay an annual fee also, even though I canceled my membership within 15 days it’s in the service agreement. I’m sure that’s true, on the tiny device agreement they give you on a tiny computer screen to review while the club manager gives you all the assurances about how great the club is. My fault for not reading the fine print. LA Fitness’s fault for having disgusting business practices.
So- buyer beware. You will pay $350 to never step foot in the gym because getting their fees matters more than actual customer service. Go to a gym that understands customer service and doesn’t only care about making money off you.
25 minute personal trainer only $71
Pressure tactics, misleading and disappointing experience at LA Fitness .
They advertise “personal training sessions” but fail to clearly disclose they’re only 25 minutes—far from what most people expect. The sessions feel rushed and not worth the cost.
I was also promised workout “homework” and follow-up support, but received nothing. No plan, no guidance—just empty promises.
Feels like a bait-and-switch. Ask questions upfront—because they won’t tell you everything.
LA Fitness does not respond to members issues
Today as I was working out in the free weight room there was some guy playing profanity laced rap music on his Bluetooth speaker. I do not need to hear this garbage as I am trying to get a good workout in. I am thoroughly disgusted because I complained to the front desk and they did nothing. 10 minutes later and they still did nothing! They are more interested in selling memberships than responding to members issues in a timely manner. Most other gyms like Planet Fitness would never allow this to go on and would respond immediately.
