Bitterly disappointed with this garage and the vehicle we received.

After taking delivery of the pink fiat 500c OY60MDK in the morning my husband and I took it for a 20min drive after work to enjoy the ‘new to us’ vehicle.

We had waited nearly two weeks for checks and ‘necessary’ repairs, a brake light replacement we were told, to be completed. However as we returned home from our first trip out in this vehicle it became impossible to select first gear, then second went and finally no gear could be selected at all.
We were stuck and my husband had to tow the car back with our original car.
To add to that when we looked under the car, which came with a current mot, we could see that part of the the off-side rear shock absorber was sat at the bottom of the suspension spring not attached where it should be!

So a vehicle that had a current mot and was supposedly serviced within the last 2 weeks, sat on a garage forecourt to be ‘checked over’ then transported on a trailer to us was in fact one that would be deemed dangerous to drive and an obvious mot failure by any reputable mechanic or garage.

These are facts. This is not a vitriolic attack on this garage just a truthful report of what happened to us when we bought a vehicle from them and had to reject it for being unsafe and unreliable within the first hours of receiving it.

Yes we got our money back, remember buying unseen over the internet you have a distance selling cooling off period, but we actually wanted the car to be what we were promised not the unroadworthy, dangerous vehicle they delivered.

On a more positive note I have to say that, although they didn’t always call back when they said they would, everyone I dealt with was pleasant and polite.

So should you choose to purchase a vehicle from this garage please do so with your eyes wide open and be prepared to be disappointed in what you receive.

*Have seen on the site that the car is already back up for sale… they received it back in the untouched, unroadworthy state they sent it to us on Friday afternoon and already it is back up for sale … you do the math!

I’m sharing my experience with Keywise Cars Ltd (Speedway Garage, Silverton, Exeter) to warn others about their extremely poor aftercare and questionable practices.

We bought our Audi SQ5 in August 2024. Within the first few days, I reported a fault with the rear brake caliper. The fault was repaired within the 3-month warranty period at Keywise’s own workshop. However, I raised concerns via email at the time about whether new parts were actually used, as I had doubts. I was assured by Keywise that the parts were indeed new.

Less than 6,000 miles later, the same caliper has failed again — and there is no manufacturer warranty to fall back on. This strongly suggests that either the initial fault was never properly resolved, or the parts used were not fit for purpose.

What followed was even worse. Kyle Berks from Keywise took out a retrospective third-party warranty to cover the issue — something I was never involved in. Unsurprisingly, the warranty company rejected the claim, and the garage that carried out the second repair has still not been paid.

Keywise is now refusing to accept liability for the failed caliper and refusing to pay the bill, despite the fact they sold the car in this condition, attempted a repair, and then tried to shift the cost onto a third party.

This car also left their garage with a diesel leak, and yet had passed an MOT — something I’m now escalating to VOSA to investigate the legitimacy of that inspection.

I have now submitted a complaint to Trading Standards and will be taking further action to ensure this doesn’t happen to anyone else.

My honest advice: Avoid Keywise Cars at all costs. If a problem arises, don’t expect it to be resolved. Expect blame-shifting, denial, and poor customer service.

Bought a car a month and a half ago and had issues with it within the first 24hrs and things that I brought up on test drive were apparently done and evidently they weren’t. The car then went back and the issues were dealt with and the car apparently rechecked. A few days later I raised another issue with them regarding the clutch to which I was instructed to bring the car down to them. I took the car down and as there was no lights on the dashboard the salesman took the car on a test run and said nothing wrong with it despite me showing him pictures of how the clutch position changes and just told me “all focuses of this year have a squeaky clutch it’s really common”. I have since contacted them again with videos and pictures of the cars worsening condition and I had to ring and chase to get a reply. I eventually got the car booked in but have to wait 3 weeks so discussed the option of a different vehicle. I then enquire about another vehicle today and as it’s cheaper than the first one I asked for the difference between the 2 cars refunded which the car then miraculously becomes “sold” so I’m still left with a faulty car that I’ve still got to wait another 2 weeks for you to apparently fix it despite the car playing up more with each day that passes. Was told there’s more available- yeah there’s more expensive ones so you get even more money out of me! The after sales team are shocking! Quick enough to sell you a car but also quick enough to wash their hands of you when there’s a problem! I have never had such poor treatment from a so called “good garage”. Really not a lot to ask to have a reliable running car

Buying a Vauxhall convertible from them has been a litany of broken promises and shoddy service.

It started with their broken online payment system. I tried to add a wax and interior service, but the website wouldn't let me. They told me to pay via bank transfer, only to then inform me the service wasn't even available anymore!

After a week of me constantly chasing them for updates, the car finally arrived. The roof wasn't working. They picked it up to fix it, only to deliver it back to me with the wheels misaligned. They promised a cheque for the alignment I'd now have to pay for, but I'm still waiting.

Their customer service is nonexistent. They don't reply on WhatsApp, and their sales team is utterly lazy and unresponsive. It's clear they don't care about their customers.

I strongly advise against buying from them, especially online or for delivery. Their lack of responsiveness and general incompetence are a huge red flag.

I have really bad experience with them, the staff checked my finances and when it approved he called us then we selected a day with him and he agreed, but luckily we made plan to collect car before that day and before driving one hour, we called them and the staff showed that car to another people and sold them in front of us.

I bought a car from Keywise around Feb 2025. Unfortunately due to DVLA issues, the vehicle could not be changed from a Private Light Goods Vehicle. Josh and the team went above and beyond to retify the issue, but to no avail.
To put the issue right, i was offered a full refund or part excahnge on another vehicle. I opted for a vehicle exchange. The process was seemless and the team could not have done more to support and rectify the original issue. The car was delivered free of charge, serviced and came with a limited warranty. Overall, a fantastic professional and friendly service. I would highly recommend Keywise for your next quality vehicle.

They sold a car with a new MOT which they gave and omitted to give an advisory on an oil leak which had been noted before their sale but was picked up at the next MOT. They must have know about it- repair estimated about £2000!

Had a brilliant experience from start to finish, purchased a Audi A4 quattro litre, delivered last week to my door in Manchester miles away from them, best of brilliant car , Mark

All nice when selling a car, had a VW golf delivered to Leicester, heater blowing cold on drivers side, so obviously not checked before sending out ,expect you to take the car back to them, and may fix it same day, would not recommend this company unless you live very near, also not a clean car internal ,roof badly stained and 100s dog hairs

A little worried about buying from keywise after reading some negative reviews (about after care mainly) cars having gone wrong etc then being fobbed off.. naturally as always, drawn to the minority of bad reviews as opposed to mostly the good but I can vouch that we’ve had a GREAT experience, we are chuffed! Choosing the car was fun & relaxed being able to ask for whichever keys we wanted and look in our own time, with no pressure!! They were so welcoming and helpful to our requests and working around what was best for us.. our car did have an engine light come on twice since purchasing, which resulted in it going back to them for a few days each time, but the customer service and apologies couldn’t have been any swift or better! Thank you Keywise! 😀

What can I say, it was mix feelings between happy and disappointment.
Mechanically the pickup truck is ok (I took it to a mechanic of my trust), although visually it had it's rough edges. Lots of scratches that could easily been taken away with a professional polish and the bed was far from clean, and the fact that it was raining is no excuse for it not to be pressure washed before delivering the pickup (I pressure washed it at home with my £50 machine and it was perfectly clean).
The contact person at the dealership was great in terms of helping finishing the deal, but despite all his goodwill and efforts (thank you for everything) it was ineffective solving post-sales issues.
Unfortunately in terms of overall customer experience, this dealership lack a lot of sensibility towards it's customers.
As already described in terms of presentation the vehicle could be in a better state then just washed, it was delivered without mats (first time in my life that I bought a vehicle without mats, on my way home from the dealership 2x £4.99 rubber mats from the range solved the issue) and although advertised has having two keys, only one works. After changing the battery myself and the key not working, when contacting the dealership (and we are talking 2 working days later) the answer I got was "one key is usually deemed as acceptable", that might be "deemed as acceptable" but very dodgy when the vehicle is advertised as possessing 2 keys (lessons leaned, next time I'll be aware of this "deemed acceptable" behaviour).

When you know that with this sale and the future sale of the car I gave as part exchange, the net profit of the dealership with me is above £5000, you have to get disappointed by the fact that they are unable to spend a couple of hundreds (the key is £250 and the mats were under a tenner) to turn an upset customer into a very happy one.
Despite all this, would I go back to this dealership in the future? Yes I would. But with 0% trust and triple check everything before purchase.

All in all, I feel like I have received the bare minimum in terms customer service and satisfaction and therefore my evaluation is also the bare minimum above very unhappy.

In February I bought a VW Golf, for me it was a lot of money. I thought I was buying a car from a professional dealer. I am a new driver so I decided to buy a car from a good source, but that did not happen. At first everyone was nice, everything was perfect, a short test drive did not show any flaws. After a short thought I decided to buy my Golf, which was my dream. The first disappointment after driving 30 miles, a message appeared on the screen that the tire pressure was incorrect (a damaged valve), on the way my feet froze - it turned out that the heating did not work, and to this day I have been bearing the costs of flushing the cooling system (of course, the seller covered the costs of replacing the Matrix, for which I am grateful) then a month after the purchase I discovered a lake in my trunk with the spare wheel, it was a shock.. (the windows were steaming up despite the good weather and I started looking for the cause, the passenger seats were wet from the bottom, if I had not checked I would have probably had mushroom farms) I was completely devastated, disappointed and desperate, especially since I was a new driver and I could not enjoy my dream... I do not know who works there, it seems to me that the mechanics have no knowledge about cars, I have an assumption that their test only consists of making the car drive (3 months after the purchase the pump supporting the heating was repaired under warranty, the photo showed that it was rusty and cracked, how is it possible that the mechanics at this dealer doesn't see such basic mistakes?) These are just the basic things I mentioned, they answer the phone immediately but only if you intend to buy a car, later after the purchase it borders on a miracle that someone will answer your phone, it is difficult to get communication. I will never buy from any car dealer again. If you want to buy a car here I advise against it and do not recommend it!!! And if you do buy, take a decent mechanic with experience with you. I learned a lesson that my Dream ended in a nightmare and stress. Speaking of guarantees, you have to look for a garage yourself, recommended garages do not want to repair cars under warranty

Best garage iv dealt with staff are very very good just waiting for car to be serviced and fuel tank protector fitted hopefully not to long iv already directed a few people to them no pressure selling which means a lot keep up the good work lads

The keywise sales office team were very helpful when purchasing my car. I wouldn't buy a car from anywhere else.

Friendly honest staff gave good price for my vehicle good replacement found. Honest service paperwork dealt with efficiently very pleased with new vehicle.
