10 Weeks Without A Car
My Jaguar I Pace went into Pentland JLR Perth mid January to have a new windscreen and carpets fitted under warranty, due to a leak from the windscreen seal. I was not kept informed about the job, I had to do all of the chasing up and each time I was fobbed off by whoever I spoke to. After 10 WEEKS without transport I made a complaint and the Head Of Business apologised to me and admitted that his staff had basically neither prioritised nor arranged any workshop time for my car to be fixed, over a month after the parts had come into stock. In other words it had been completely forgotten about. I was told that it would be fixed in a few days and delivered back to me, given the length of time they had my car for. After all repairs were carried out I was called and told either to collect the car myself or that I wouldn’t get it delivered back to me until the following week. I collected it myself. I have had 8 JLR cars in the past 10 years and very sadly this regrettable episode has completely put me off buying another, due to the (lack of) service I received.

All the staff are professional, friendly and most helpful.
I have never had a bad experience in Pentland and I truly belief it is all the staff who make it so. It is that sort of ‘niceness’ rather than just pleasantness that makes you want to buy your next vehicle to continue with that sort of relationship.

Very poor service, again!
Very poor service, again!
1. Ended up buying my last Range Rover from another dealer after Pentland would not get even close on the price or spec I wanted.
2. Had cause to complain to the Sales Manager about a new car salesman after repeatedly not returning my calls. Yes, I wanted to buy another car! Eventually ordered one to be told 9 month wait.
3. Service dept (who are usually ok) have now failed on customer service having to wait 3 weeks to get a service booking. The car is currently un-driveable due to fumes coming inside, but I cant get it looked (apparently, unless I have an extended warranty with Landrover).
Very disappointing and will probably cancel the new LR.

The parts required were on back order…
The parts required were on back order with no indication of when they would be delivered. Pentland (Thomas) kept me updated regularly and provided me with a customer loan car. The service from Pentland could not be faulted but I am afraid Land Rover leave a lot to be desired - nearly 3 weeks to supply steering mechanism!
The need for a TCU update was identified in November 2022 and is still awaited (9 Feb 2023). Again, inefficiency of Land Rover, NOT Pentland.
