John Clark Motor Group - Pentland Land Rover Edinburgh Newbridge Omdömen 

Oh dear. All the glass but no class. Bought RR SV from these liars. Part exed my Defender and collected the car one week before the next finance payment was due. The following week, the finance payment was taken from my account. I contacted John Clarke Pentland and was told it was their policy to uphold any payments taken within a week of deal being done. Utter liars. I fought this and got the finance payment back.Did quick check over of car before leaving and found a few issues which the salesman, James, assured me would be resolved by any Land Rover dealer. (Lie). On the way home, i noticed a few more issues which I informed James of. After a week with the car I found many other issues, including
Steering wheel cracked on both panels
Steering wheel not straight ( obviously related to above)
Deployable side step bracket paint completely delaminated
Bits of trim and plastic fixings loose in boot
Front bumper kept popping off on drivers side
Side bumper below door was hanging off and made passenger door squeal when opened
And now, for the last 2 months, the electric part of the car doesn’t work ( it’s a P510e)

I had the car into Land Rover Cardiff to investigate
They identified most of problems but said car didn’t have warranty. I had paid for extra 12 months, so had total of 24 months Land Rover warranty. Bulletproof right? Wrong.
After many hours to Land Rover customer care, eventually got call today from Craig(manager or dealer principal?) telling me I should have checked the car before i left and all the issues were cosmetic, so not interested ! I pointed out that after extolling the virtues of their 150 point check, I didn’t believe i had to undertake a thorough inspection of a 100k vehicle.
He then said, if you want to go further, seek a lawyer.
After 15 previous Land Rovers, i am out.
Please be aware that if you buy from these people, and things go wrong, you are on your own.
I strongly urge you not to deal with this company, not because I feel bitter (i do), but because I wouldn’t want anyone else to experience this feeling of being utterly helpless

Poor customer service used car sales management or head of sales doesn’t respond to customer complaints had car 7 months car been in garage 10 times to be fixed car now has major water leak rear passenger and roof soaked possibly needs new windscreen paint work falling off front bumper told it’s my problem and to pay over 3k to fix as they will not cover it totally shocking customer service had Land Rover cars for past 10 years due this customer experience I would never buy from this dealership Land Rover Edinburgh

Communication is really the weakest point of the business. Staff taking days to get back to emails or phone calls. Also vehicle checks before delivery are not up to standard. Every vehicle bought has had a problem even though there is a “165 point check”. Only use John Clark group because it is a main dealer and I want manafactures warranty

We had a very rocky start to the extent we were going to cancel our purchase however once Abie Torrance was assigned to our account everything went smoothly. He kept in constant contact and understood that this was a big deal to us purchasing a brand new car at that value. Professional, friendly and had that customer contact experience you expect from Range Rover. He was brilliant, and saved the day for Land Rover as far as our sale was concerned. Pentland landrover Edinburgh are actively selling a CAT N range rover vogue. The car was written off in 2021 and sold by copart as scrap. They are selling this car as approved used, thankfully i done the checks before purchase, i informed the general manager of this and he said he would remove it from sale but 24hrs later it was put back up for sale. The car is currently being sold for £33k the last three letters of the reg are (VOF). Share this far and wide, this company clearly shouldnt hold a landrover franchise.

Jayne Leishman also provided helpful information and support. Collectively, they took time to ensure we chose the correct vehicle and provided clear financial information.

It's unfortunate to have read many bad reviews but I suppose bad feedback makes feedback" you don't see the good so easily. Anyway with me I'm a very experienced used car buyer, I found an Evoque here low mileage & maxed to the hilt with every extra imaginable! I travelled from Hebden Bridge Yorkshire to pick it up it is that good" I had a very good sales & handover experience from a James Sheldon, so if you buy? Buy from him 👌

Easy transaction from initial inquiry to collection.
A change of personnel part way through the process did not disrupt the purchase.
Leasa who took over the sale was very thorough and everything went through smoothly.

From start to finish I could not have asked for better service leasa made it so easy! Going above and beyond for me I can’t thank her enough great experience and some laughs along the way.

James Sheldon was very helpful and accommodating from the get go. Nothing was too much hassle and all my questions/queries about the vehicle were responded to promptly and transparently. The vehicle is great and we are very pleased with the service received.

My experience has been shocking . Rang to discuss a Range Rover , started the process of discussing the car , raised concerns it had not been serviced from new for 27 months , was assured the car was mechanically in perfect condition . The advert clearly stated a “rare “ feature - Tow Assist with automatic tow bar. Went through the process of asking for the full VIN No specification of the car . After seeing this went through finance proposal , this was where the behaviour of the dealership became suspicious. They added to my finance agreement a £50 fuel / charge cost , in 40 years of buying prestige cars no dealership has ever charged me a fuel charge , and since electric cars came on to the market an electric charge of £50 ( we all know £50 is excessive and far more than the cost to fully charge a car ) They also under valued my trade in by 2-3k and then lied about a WBAC valuation they completed , clearly they did an online valuation most likely down grading the car they had not seen the lowest grade . But now I come onto the serious point , after numerous email exchanges , to the point where I was going to buy the car , a new salesman drops this into the conversation , the Tow Bar has been deactivated and is not available to use, it has a fault and is not financially viable to repair . What a joke, there I am a long way down the line to buying a car described on their website as have a “rare”,feature , “tow bar “ and the feature is not there because it is broken and they will not repair it . When I emailed my dissatisfaction with this the sales manager he has not even emailed or rung to apologise.

Still waiting for my car 10 days on
Very poor communication on updates what is happening and when i can expect it,due to a fault when getting serviced ,this should have been done before due to pick up,then parts to order ?never return calls.so back to your question No i havent had good journeys with my car that is bought and paid for

From start to finish my experience with Abie was seamless.
