Thinking of iPage? Read this first!
I’m a long-term client of iPage; the service was mostly OK, but at times I got very stressed. Like when they cancelled my SSL certificate, ‘by mistake’, twice in a row. It took ages to recover. Or when their systems would not save my new address after endless tries, resulting in suspension of my domain names. But not knowing better, I stayed on.
Then last December, with my 3-year contract about to expire, I contacted iPage to renew; they wanted double what I’d paid last time. After trying again and again to lower the price, I decided to leave, registered with a competitor, and began the migration.
Then, just before the expiry of my contract, I was shocked to receive an e-mail from iPage thanking me for my purchase of $730. It turns out someone there had used my card to purchase a 3-year renewal at full price. When I complained, they claimed my account was set to “auto-renew”. When I challenged this, they said sorry, it was a ‘glitch’ at their end, they would refund. When the refund arrived, there was $50 missing. I spent ages arguing for the missing money, to no avail. They wouldn’t listen. It was my fault, or the bank’s. No argument would sway them.
So I’m leaving this review, to warn anyone thinking of switching to iPage / Bluehost: beware, you might regret it.

FOR THE PAST 2 YEARS, MY NON-PROFIT HAS BEEN UNABLE TO USE OUR SECONDARY DOMAIN NAME, WHICH IS A SHORTER & EASIER TO REMEMBER AND TYPE VERSION REQUESTED BY SEVERAL DONORS. I EXPLAINED THE CONNECTIVITY ISSUE TO PAVAN--AND HE FIXED IT IN LESS THAN 3 MINUTES. SADLY, TWO FIRMS THAT PREVIOUSLY OWNED OUR ACCOUNT CLAIMED TO BE UNABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM, AND BLAMED IT ON OUR WEB SITE CREATOR. BUT PAVAN HANDLED IT WITHOUT EVEN BLINKING. HE'S A DEFINITE ASSET TO IPAGE, AND DEFINITELY EARNED OUR CUSTOMER LOYALTY. I RATED HIM 5 STARS IN EVERY CATEGORY.
