If you are considering a hair transplant, and are looking at reviews, remember the following: the final result takes a year so look for reviews that post about the result and not how nice they are to you on the day of treatment. I made this mistake with HSHC.

I had a consultation with these guys and they told me I needed 1800 grafts. When you walk in you see a lot of Wayne Rooney bits to give you confidence as he had his first transplant there (but not his second I note) and also a lot of signed cards are strategically placed saying how amazing they are.

Sadly, this was not my experience.

From the outset the sales guy told me that at my age 53 my hair had stopped falling out so there were areas (top centre) that didn’t need treating. I told them this wasn’t the case but they weren’t really listening. I figured they were experts so I left it and booked the op date. They also demanded I go see a third party GP to be privately tested for my response to adrenaline, even though I have never had an issue with it. This added an additional £250 to the bill.

They did the transplant over two days. Chap called Dr. Vida. First day was the right side and second left. After the first day my head was really bruised and swollen. This may have affected the result. At the time all seemed fine. I was told that the grafts were super successful and I stuck by all the post treatment requests, but after the full 12 months the result was poor. Right side ok and reasonable density but left side low density and the centre area that wasn’t treated thinned a lot. A few years later a lot of the grafts have fallen out and I have almost no density in the centre area and completely mismatched density on right and left side.

After the treatment I never heard from them again, not even a follow up phone call, email or WhatsApp.

Not sure why it went so wrong, but they were pretty brutal and rushed day two like mad.

As I look back it seems they were only interested in the money and nothing else so I would be very careful if you are thinking about going here.

I've known Will for about 5 years now, who has always communicated instantly and politely, provided me with honest and useful advice and has constantly supported me throughout my experience at HSHC in a truly friendly manner. I have also been fortunate enough to meet and work with Roxy, Dr Zayn and Dr Kovacheva, and, well, I cannot recommend them and their work enough. Whether you are looking for general advice and feedback on your hair, some scalp micropigmentation and/or a FUE procedure, you are totally covered by their expertise and knowledge: totally natural looking hairlines, no scarring, incredible hair density post-op, and total graft harvesting maximisation (i.e. getting the most hairs out of a single hair graft). I could go on and on for paragraphs but the only thing that needs to be said is this: if you are looking for options to treat your hair loss, get in touch with Will and visit the clinic. You will not regret it. And I will just add that HSHC also has excellent prices (especially for London/the UK) for any of the treatment options you may be interested in. I personally would not visit any other clinic and have recommended HSHC (and Will) to my mates and family dealing with hair loss!!

The service i received from the company was absolutely amazing, they filled me in on how the procedure works and what to do for after care of the hair transplant, they was friendly and had alot of patience with me as i tend to ask a million questions, Will the person who i had the consultation with was amazing answered any questions and queries i had, and even after the transplant for a whole year kept in touch to see how i and my results was, cant even express myself on how great the whole team was made me feel comfortable with the whole procedure from start to end.

I am 27 and had started seeing receding hairline creating a 'windows' peak. I decided to explore my options and had a free consultation with the team at the clinic. They did not push any agenda other than the best for my hair. They recommended hair loss medication to stem the receding and we agreed on a 6 month follow up to check results (again free of charge). Everything looked ready and I had the procedure with a couple of weeks. The whole team are very friendly and make sure there is plenty of information provided and crucially ways to get in contact. It's very early days post procedure, but immediately I have been complemented. I greatly appreciate their help.

I have been a patient of the clinic for a few years for various treatments and each time the absolute professionalism has been outstanding. The initial consultations are informative and honest and the treatment best suited for the patient is discussed in detail. Treatment itself has always been gentle and I am always looked after from start to finish. Aftercare is clearly detailed with reviews at certain periods thereafter. The outcome of my procedures have been superb. I do not have experience of other hair clinics, but I cannot see how HSHC could be beaten on attention to detail on every count. The after care is really poor in my opinion, after the day at the practice, there was no follow up after the procedure, most recently noticing patches around his crown - would have been beneficial for the team to reach out, or what to expect.

I had my FUE hair transplant 10 days ago with Dr Vida and I must say it was the best clinic I can choose. Like many, male pattern baldness is hereditary and I had noticed significant hair loss despite using Regaine for 10 years - which may have decelerated the process a little.

I had my first consultation with Will in February who is the patient adviser, he explained everything to me about the FUE procedure from pre op and post op. He also advised the importance of maintenance and the following day I had purchased 1mg Finasteride upon his recommendation. Will was excellent with his caring and professional attitude. I met Dr Kovacheva who was excellent, she further explained maintenance of hair loss and FUE procedure to me. Will also suggested I do my own research on the FUE procedure along with some information he emailed across later and to also visit various clinics to see what I was comfortable with before deciding to go ahead as it was a big decision to make and it was my first ever consultation with a hair transplant clinic. This was the right advice as it’s expensive and the final results can take up to 12 months so it’s a huge investment to make, one that should not be taken lightly. He was not pushy whatsoever and did not bombard me with multiple emails/phone calls, just left the door open for me.

I visited 5 other clinics in London, I won’t mention them out of respect, but what was missing were either: hassling me with multiple phone calls, not calling me back despite clinics promising me call backs, clinics putting other clinics down and terming them ‘scam’ clinics, clinics dropping their price down by 30% within a month of a quotation, inexperienced surgeons (2-3 years), extraction done by surgeons but implantations left to technicians and clinics claiming to do 3,600 grafts within a day - some clinics actually stated they would do it over 2 days rather than 1 day with no additional cost…no brainer right?

I decided on Harley Street Hair Clinic for a few reasons. Will has excellent communication skills - he replies to emails within a few hours and goes out of his way to help you without being pushy. I had a second consultation with Dr Vida who specialises in my Asian skin type, does significant volumes of FUE per year and is one of the most experienced surgeons in the UK. I felt relaxed during the consultation, he explained how he would do all the extraction and implantation over 2 days for the 3,600 grafts, he took his time and answered all my questions and I did not feel rushed. Also just coming to the clinic I felt a nice vibrant atmosphere, nothing was rushed and everything seemed to run smoothly and they were extremely professional.

The day before I was quite nervous, not because of the ‘pain’ but the anticipation of what to expect and potential long-term results. Will rang me to check up on me, gave me some sound advice such as not taking the tube over the 2 days (was sweltering heat), went through pre op and post op instructions and answered all my questions.

The day arrived and honestly it was a breeze (after the local anaesthetic went in!). Dr Vida and his team were phenomenal, we chatted away, I watched Netflix, we listened to some music and honestly I didn’t even realise I was getting my hair transplant done! We stopped for frequent breaks so I can stretch my legs out, refreshments and we went at a relaxed pace. They even had Katherine one of the nurses stay behind until I was picked up which was very kind of her. Day 2 went the exact same, in fact I got to catch up on my sleep from the restless night before and I was pleased with the outcome!

Will and I have kept in touch frequently, sending pictures and I’m very pleased with the procedure and my current progress. I came in on day 5 for a check up and Dr Vida was very pleased with it too.

The things that I found challenging post op was: lack of sleep for first 2-3 days (travel pillow helps when sleeping on your back), constant spraying with saline for first few days (setting timer on phone helps), donor area getting itchy and sensitive after a few days (don’t scratch, take antihistamine and paracetamol). The clinic have a strict post-op protocol which if you follow then you won’t get any infections or significant swelling around your forehead.

So for anyone considering a hair transplant, do your research, take preventative medication, pick a clinic and surgeon you feel the most comfortable with that will communicate with you regularly and are readily accessible. Good clinics won’t undercharge and will have similar competitive prices, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is best to void!

It was my second hair transplant with HSHC. The team (in particular Will) were incredibly professional and helpful. The team take all the time in the world to answer any little question or doubt the patient may have. Both times I have been particularly impressed by how attentive they have been during the days post surgery. It is also clear how they keep on developing and investing to be at the forefront of their field.

I was worried about going ahead with this but after talking to Layuak felt more comfortable about doing it so booked up and must say best thing I have done there was very little pain everyone there where where lovely made me feel at ease and the aftercare was great can’t say a bad thing, going back for one more sitting hopefully in December this year and looking forward to it, would and have recommended them 100%,
