Staff were very kind and informative during the consultation, very impressed and thankful for the information they took the time to give me all free of cost. They don't try and force you into getting a transplant and are realistic in explaining what's necessary for you individually and when that might be. I'm a lot more knowledgeable now of what to expect for the future and how things work in the process.

After carrying out considerable research I decided to book in for a hair transplant with Harley Street Hair Clinic. Originally I considered going to Turkey but became suspicious of all the “excellent reviews” online. In my experience so far, pay the extra and get it done locally, the financial benefits don’t outweigh the risks.

I knew I’d be in safe hands with Dr Vida as he’d carried out several high profile transplants previously. The passion on the first appointment, hairline planning and subsequent surgery has provided me with confidence throughout my journey so far.

I’ve ended up with just over 2000 grafts, having spent most of the day with the team. Despite a handful of the initial injections being relatively painful, I ended up falling asleep for part of the surgery.

I’ve attached a few photos pre op and post op. I’ve strictly followed the guidance and lived like a monk leading up to the surgery and over the past 7 days post op. The most challenging thing I’ve found since is doing relatively little and sleeping with a travel pillow in an elevated position.

I plan to provide a few more photos over time to give an honest and transparent review for those considering it.

I went to visit the Harley street hair clinic on Saturday and I never thought I’d need to do this so naturally I was a bit nervous. A family member had used them for his hair transplant and couldn’t recommend them highly enough and he accompanied me. Instantly meeting the consultant he made what is quite a big procedure for me, very relaxed and also recognised my family member which was lovely.

They discussed every part of the pre and post procedure with me and are able to offer me exactly what I was after which was great. I met the doctor as well which was very insightful and I’m all booked in to get the work done. Thank you again for helping me and making the experience so nice!

I had my hair transplant procedure yesterday and couldn't be happier with my decision. I was initially very specific and cautious about where to go for this procedure, but I completely made the right choice coming here.

I had my hair cut a few days ago. The hairdresser made a comment on how thick my hair was. Then, after shaving to grade 6, she picked up her texturizing scissors and said, "I don't normally like using thinning scissors after shaving, but your hair needs it." She then went gung-ho with a pair of thinning scissors for around 20 minutes because shaving my hair, quite remarkably, had left it too thick.

If I'd needed any further proof that my hair transplant had been a success (which I didn't) this was it. Back in my younger days, I had natural thick hair and would frequently receive this kind of comment from hairdressers. But this was the first time in many years (many decades even) that I'd received such a comment from a hairdresser.

I'm now eight months post-transplant. At just three months post-op, I had already pretty much achieved the results I'd hoped for prior to surgery. In fact, the outcome at this stage was so impressive that it fooled me (and ChatGPT) into thinking I'd foregone the usual post-op shock phase entirely. Now, at eight months, the results are incredible. What has impressed me most is the crown area. Anyone familiar with hair transplantation will know that the crown area is one the most challenging areas to restore convincingly. The different directions hair grows in this region tends to refract light, creating the illusion of thinner coverage. On top of that, newly transplanted crown hair is more precarious due to a less profuse blood supply, so initial graft survival is a real challenge. To see the level of coverage I now have is something to behold, far exceeding my original expectations.

Something I wasn’t concerned too much about before the transplant was achieving a natural look. When having a bald patch, one’s main concern is simply covering it up. It is only with the benefit of hindsight that I see the value of achieving a natural swirl pattern around the crown area. Doing this well is technically difficult and requires great skill from the surgeon. It's one thing to pluck hair from one part of the scalp and plop it onto another, it's quite another to make it look natural.

All this being said, there have been some unintended consequences. In the past, with my sparse hair, I had no issues with my scalp overheating during hot summer months – there was always plenty of ventilation. I knew this would be reduced after the transplant, but I assumed there'd still be some gaps for air to get through. Not so. No ventilation going on up there whatsoever. The coverage is so uncompromising that not even a single solitary waft of air now gets through. I guess I'll just have to invest in some air-con.

For the sake of transparency, I should mention that many of the metrics determining transplant success were stacked heavily in my favour: hair-to-graft ratio, donor quality and quantity, general health, scalp health, hair colour, natural curl and wave, etc. So the potential for excellent results was always biased in my favour. But potential is only half the story. I have no doubt that if I'd gone to the wrong clinic (one in Turkey for instance) I might well have ended up with far inferior results. Achieving this quality of outcome required considerable surgical skill. Dr. Dan Ness did a phenomenal job of translating what was promising raw material into fantastic results. I feel so pleased with the results that I am seriously considering nominating Dr Ness for an OBE. It's not in the least hyperbolic to say this has been truly life changing. The increased self‑confidence gained from these outstanding results is truly transformational.

The clinic assures me that at eight months post‑op, I should expect further improvements – potentially all the way to the twelve‑month mark. That's all great, but I have one question: where is the extra hair going to go? There's absolutely no space left!

My treatment at the Harley Street Hair Clinic was, for me, a fundamental part of my transition. This has been a long-term journey and commitment — this being my third procedure with the clinic. The team are all incredibly friendly and supportive, I felt genuinely understood throughout and made to feel at ease. The team designed and created a soft, feminine hairline that’s made a huge difference to how I feel in myself — it’s really helped reduce my dysphoria around hair loss, and it’s been one of the most meaningful changes for my confidence and wellbeing.

I first went to The Harley Street Hair Clinic in 2016 for my first FUE transplant and have been back since on a number of occasions for additional treatment and Will, Albena, Roxy and all the staff have been amazing from the word go. If you are thinking about a transplant, please trust me, do not go anywhere else, it has been a game changer for me. I have very recently had a pigmentation treatment also and this has helped give it a fuller look. The best, most professional experience possible from a wonderful group of people.

After 1 year post operation, I can say that my experience with Harley Street Hair Clinic (HSHC) was great. Compared with a previous operation that I had with another clinic, my experience with HSHC was a night and day difference (improvement).

I'm very happy with my results thus far. I know that I will always have a bit of a bald patch and a thinning look, but I emphasized with HSHC that I wanted to achieve more fullness and coverage on top while maintaining a natural appearance.

I would recommend to anyone going for a hair operation to be realistic about what may be achievable. I recommend also, regardless of the clinic that one goes to, that any prospective candidate think about and talk about their desired outcomes with family/friends or a trusted person, but most certainly with the clinic and the doctor(s) working with you. Emphasize and repeat what is important to you and make sure that it is not ignored.

From the beginning, with HSHC, I felt at ease, and I was able to discuss my goals, strategy, and key concerns. I had multiple meetings with Will and with Dr. Vida ahead of the procedure, and I did not feel rushed. The team paid attention to my notes and what I wanted to focus on. They, of course, provided their expertise - I felt that the strategy we employed and the results we achieved were collaborative.

The doctors and technicians at HSHC pay attention to detail. They have done and continue to do the work to understand different skin and hair types to try to give prospective patients honest expectations and the best outcomes. They care about doing a good job, and the clinic is clean and professionally maintained.

Post operation, HSHC provided care instructions and guidance. Will was very responsive to any questions that I had, and (because I am not based too far away from the clinic) it was easy to schedule follow-up appointments with Will and Dr. Vida to check on and discuss progress.

From my initial consultation right through to the completion of my two-day hair transplant surgery yesterday the overall experience at HSHC has been as good as I can possibly imagine.

I visited around half a dozen clinics and took my time researching each one and eventually narrowed it down to two, one of which was HS Hair Clinic. To anyone reading this, do take the time to have multiple consultations and look around different clinics; they really do vary quite a lot, and it's important to find the one that fits best. I've seen clinics where the vibe felt wrong to others where it felt right, and it's not always the most expensive ones that seemed better.

At my initial consultation I was met by Will took me through some of the options and what was involved. I was then introduced to Dr Ness, who assessed my hair, discussed my expectations and what he thought was a realistic outcome.

It was made clear that should I decide to proceed, Dr Ness would be my surgeon, which I thought was important and was preferable to the possibility of meeting a different surgeon for the first time on the day of the operation. I think it's important you get a positive feeling from the person who might be operating on you, and I certainly did. It also allowed me to research the surgeon online prior to booking.

I was also encouraged to ask any follow-up questions via email to help with my decision, and the clincher was learning that Dr Ness would have a more hands-on approach to the whole process, dedicated only to me during the day; the only aspect handed to the technicians would be the implantation of the follicles; all the initial preparations, extractions, incisions was to be done by Dr Ness. For me this was important as I wasn't comfortable with the surgeon splitting his time amongst multiple patients (as was the case with another clinic that I almost went with).

I received clear pre-op instructions a week or so before the operation, and a call from Will the day before to check-in on how I was feeling. I confessed to having been up and down in previous weeks in terms of whether I wanted to go through with it and had even considered cancelling a few months previously, making up silly excuses in my head as to why I shouldn't do it. I'm so glad I did not act on these "middle of the night thoughts"; in the last few weeks before the operation I actually became really excited about it. My mind was well and truly made up!

Mine was a two-day operation; first day would be extracting follicles from the back of my head and transplanting them on the front/sides. Second day would be taking from the sides and filling in the crown.

On the first day, my wife came in with me and we "designed" my new hairline with Dr Ness, who clearly has vast experience in his field. For example, he pointed out that nobody has a symmetrical face, and actually if you design a symmetrical hairline it can look a bit artificial - almost as it you've stuck the hair on (like a lego person!). So he deliberately varied it slightly on each side. I would never have thought of this.

Each of the two days followed the same format; after choosing from a menu for what I wanted to eat later for lunch (they grab items from the local Pret), I changed into a gown and was led into the operating room, where some other friendly technicians were waiting.

I want to point out that everybody, at every point, made me feel completely at ease. They were totally aware that this is a really big deal for the person having the transplant, and they made me feel as comfortable as possible.

After the obligatory shaving of my head on day one I was given various tablets and they explained what each one was for, including some temazepam to help me relax.

The first step was to lie face down and have injections around the back of the head (day one) or sides (day two) so that the extractions could take place painlessly. These small pricks were probably the most uncomfortable of the whole process, but it's just a few minutes of mild discomfort and after that they used a little machine/pen to begin extracting all the follicles. It was actually a pleasant experience, lying their relaxed while they plucked out the follicles one-by-one.

Later on I would turn onto my back and Dr Ness would make the incisions and then the follicles, having been assessed/sorted by the technicians were implanted. This was all completely painless and surprisingly pleasant.

I occasionally drifted off to sleep but a lot of the time during the second phase it was great to have a chat with Dr Ness and some of the technicians about anything and everything, their careers, my careers, everyday life, whatever. They are a genuinely nice group of people.

I have detailed aftercare instructions and medication and they already called to check up on me.

Overall, I cannot recommend this clinic highly enough.

I did alot of research into different clinics both UK and Turkey. From the start harley street hair clinic stood out with the information and advice provided, not pushy at all unlike others. Very thorough online initial consultation and again with the inperson consultation. Made it very clear on red flags to look out for which I had noticed with other clinics. On the day of procedure everything went smoothly. Will and the team did a great job explaining and looking after me. I was surprised at how effortless and painless it was. I fell asleep throughout both days. Recovery and after care plan was explained well and they followed up with me after to find out how i was getting on. One of the biggest pros is how i have met other people in the days after the procedure that had also had transplants and where very impressed with the look and recovery.
