Terrible customer service with email agents

There was this cool lady her name was holly and she made My second hot topic experience really fun and cool, I liked her style and she was noice to me and my Older brother! She gave me a fistbump and for my brother 2 ( yea i mostly dont order online i mostly go in person ) but she was pretty awesome >_<

Never received part of my order and contacted customer service at least 6 times within the span of 5 months trying to get a refund. Never received my refund and customer service does not make any notes or communicate well. Complete waste of time and money, don’t order from them.

I dont have much to say about this establishment, but I did take a shit in the avenged sevenfold shirts.

If I could give less stars I would. My daughter attempted to order clothing from Hot Topic in which they took her money twice for one transaction and then canceled her order. When she called them about it, she was informed that her order was canceled because her bank account address did not match the shipping address. It took 7 days for her to receive her money back. She tried again to order the item using a Visa gift card and they did and said the same thing. Do not shop Hot Topic because they are thievesand scammers.

Friendly customer service, cute outfits of sonic the hedgehog and Bob's burger, the store gets me, great friendly cashier named Max at Willowbrook mall.

Great customer service from Anouk from the Destiny USA mall in Syracuse they were very nice and welcoming.

Very bad customer service. placed an order. tried to cancel it within 3 min.

They put this hot cash on there and then you go to check out and it won't let you use it and declines your card and then they take it away when you try again saying you already used it

We had a great experience. A hoodie that was out of stock at Christmas was available, we used our Hot topic cash and Marie was super helpful.

Would have left a 1 star, but 2 months later I got my purchase refunded. I REALLY wanted my order. It was pre-ordered and they never notified me that they hadn't delivered. Tracking said UPS awaiting from carrier (not picked up from supplier). I got a full refund, but they didn't even have the courtesy to reach out to me once. I reached out to them on 3 separate occasions. One to ask if my pre-order had shipped yet, 5 days later to get my first reply, and then on the 6th day to LET THEM KNOW that I had been refunded by paypal. That's when they said it was lost in transit when in reality it never left their facility. They had in actuality lost my order within their own facility. Now those very same items are sold out, and non-purchasable. I bought them in advance because some Sanrio items are hard to come by. Words cannot describe how upset I am with Hot Topic right now. I didn't even get an apology. Full credit is not equal to the credit card interest I lost while they held my money.

I am so tired of HT and I will never do business with them again and it is too bad seeing I've shopping with them for as long as they have been around. HT has this problem and I am over it. The problem is they put up pre orders and I buy on the first day. Then conveniently when the items are release I am being told they are sold out. How,? I preordered on day one how did I end up losing out? I make many preorders over the months and HT is the only company that fails when it comes to fulfilment. I do not think HT has any idea what preorder means and or cares. So If you are reading this HT cooperate people maybe have a round table and fix this ever annoying and should not be happening to your customers problem. As for me I am done. Between this and the fact they do not ship to store what I usually buy makes it so easy to do. Nevermind the ridiculous reason for not shipping these items to the store. It makes no sense and I can not in my right mind continue buying from this out of date company with horrible preorder practices. They lost a lot of money from me last year and will get none this year. And when I get my preorder that is going to be missing two of the most important items, I will be returning it to the store ASAP so I get my money back. Bye Bye HT, good luck and good riddance.

Really easy to order . It was shipped fast . I received it . it's absolutely beautiful & good quality. I will definitely be ordering again ☺️

They claim you get free shipping on orders over $75 and after putting enough in my cart I realised this offer is ONLY for US customers once I reached the checkout and was about to pay when a huge shipping fee was added, there is NOTHING as of writing on their website to indicate otherwise.
I did end up buying the items but I will not be shopping here again until shipping for customers outside the US is made fairer.

Ordered 12 times in total trying to get some things. Order gets cancelled automatically and they charge you for the order which means you need to wait for a refund back... Tried removing items and trying again and again and again with different items but they get cancelled automatically, I dealt with it being cancelled, cancelled, cancelled! If items are not in stock then set a limit so people aren't left with cancelled orders and with their money taken! I'm currently waiting for $600 refund to come back into my account to which I hope it does or I'll be going to my bank. I live in the UK, tried having it shipped to my boyfriends. He tried with his card, I tried with mine. Nothing! Honestly can put you in a down mood. Please get this fixed!

On the 21st of October I made an order with Hot Topic online to be delivered to Australia. It was around 60 dollars, and stupidly I didn't realise until I was charged $180 dollars that this was without being converted to AUD. Within TEN MINUTES I messaged them to cancel the order, and an employee told me I needed to wait a few days for the order to appear in their system.
I message them again a day and a half later and they tell me it's too late now and the order has already been packaged - not shipped, not in transit, it hasn't even left the building yet, but they very stubbornly insist they can't do anything about it and I'll have to wait until it's delivered to return it.

So I do. I return it once it's delivered, paying another 40aud for shipping because of course they don't reimburse that either. I pick the cheapest option as getting a tracking number is an extra $15 dollars and ive already spent enough money at this point, and forget about it.

One month later I havent got my refund, so I email them just now and they tell me they can't issue a refund without a tracking number. So I spent around $230 AUD and I have NOTHING to show for it, not even the original thing I bought. I am FUMING. Horrible customer service, employees unwilling to budge or provide any help, and half the time I was getting automated responses from their useless AI. Don't even bother.

Ordered 2 t-shirts on 12/11/25 and they sent USPS. Checked tracking and package hadn't moved in 2 days so reached out hoping to get a hand. Person wouldn't help me until the next day as USPS had till 9 that evening to deliver. Package did not arrive. Next person that helped me noticed no movement in 3 days and verified that it could be overnighted. Reordered for me overnight. Christmas Eve I get email stating order cancelled as it couldn't be sent overnight. Had to brave the crowds and shop the day before Christmas because I needed a package ordered in a timely manner but not shipped as such. Not a happy consumer
