Hotel Portoghesi Omdömen 

Every single staff member we met was phenomenal! They bent over backwards to fulfill every request, no matter how big or small. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good. The location was great. The elevator and A/C worked. The only reason I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 was the poor water pressure. But I'd highly recommend the Hotel Portoghesi to friends.

Overall we thought the location was great and the rooms were good size with large bathrooms. Breakfast was excellent as well.

Our number one complaint was the inadequate AC. After walking miles in a hot Rome we wanted to come back to a cool room but were unable to cool it adequately.
We went to the front desk twice to see if they could help and one person started at us and offered no help and the other said that we had just entered the room and the room would cool down which was not true, ,We have been there hours . He later said that he would find someone to look at the AC but it never happened.
We purchased hand fans to try and cool the room. Our second room with other family members room was cooler .
We understand that Europe is not as equipped to handle heat and AC but we expected better and the staff did little to help the4 situation.

This was our 2nd year staying at Hotel Portoghesi. You can't beat the location and the hotel staff has always been very friendly and helpful!

Travelling as a single person taking a weeklong Italian language course at a nearby school, I was absolutely happy with my stay at Hotel Portoghesi. Even though located in the city center, my room was quiet and had AC, so the nights were very comfortable. Good mattress too! 😉 The bathroom was spacious and obviously newly renovated.
Besides the breakfast on the roof terrace was really good and the staff friendly and always helpful.
I can only recommend this hotel because it’s perfect you want to explore the city on foot! 👍

L’hotel e’ accogliente e molto pulito.
La posizione centrale consente di raggiungere a piedi, senza fatica, le principali attrattive della città.
Inoltre, nei pressi dell’hotel vi sono degli ottimi ristorantini dove si possono degustare le specialità della cucina romana.
Le camere dell’hotel sono comode, silenziose e pulitissime.
La colazione (in terrazza o all’interno) e’ di tipo continentale con una buona scelta di prodotti, il caffè espresso e i cappuccini sono davvero buoni.
Il personale e’ molto gentile, cordiale e disponibile e crea un’atmosfera serena che contribuisce a rendere piacevole il soggiorno.
Ottimo il rapporto qualità/prezzo.
L’Hotel e’ ideale anche per un soggiorno di più giorni.
Lo sceglierò anche per i prossimi viaggi.

L’hotel è in una posizione centralissima e comoda per raggiungere a piedi tutti i punti principali della città. Molto pulito e ottimi i servizi.

Had a great stay at Hotel Portoghesi in Rome! The staff at the desk were very helpful, especially when the hot water didn't work in our room (it was fixed promptly!). Their breakfast was excellent with so many options. I especially appreciated the coffee (the woman there made my a blend of Italian/American which was outstanding!).

Adored my stay at the Portoghesi. I was here for four nights in June of 2024 as a solo female traveler. Super great location, very friendly staff, great breakfast, clean, and the charm/feel of a family hotel. Will absolutely stay here again the next time I'm in Rome.

Oh! Also, incredible service in that my room was ready HOURS early which is a godsend when you've gotten off an overnight flight from the US.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Portoghesi. I have stayed here before and will stay again - such a lovely property with friendly staff, a great location, and a really great breakfast.

The hotel staff were personable and very efficient. The breakfast was spectacular and the hostess a pleasure.

Hotel parfaitement situé, chambres agréables, petit dejeuner en terrasse très agréable.
Un petit souci de climatisation bruyante et impossible a etteindre, mais mis à part ce détail, je recommande.

Das Hotel ist vielleicht etwas "old-fashioned", aber durchaus auch im positiven Sinn. Es liegt in einer ruhigen Seitengasse und sehr zentral. Wir haben alles zu Fuß erreichen können. Das Frühstück ist für italienische Verhältnisse sehr umfangreich, man muss nur aufpassen, dass die Möwen einem auf der Dachterrasse nicht das Frühstücksei stibiezen. Ärgerlich war nur, dass die Dachterrasse den Hotelgästen abends nicht zur Verfügung steht, außer man ist Gast in der für die Verhältnisse teuren Bar Le Farniente - leider wird man über diesen Bewirtungsbetrieb nicht vorher auf der Webseite des Hotels aufgeklärt, schade.

We have stayed at Portoghese at least 5 times and recommended the hotel to friends and family. We reserved 6 mo ago a junior suite and on arrival were given a small, dark, musty, too warm room that was as depressing as it was disappointing. We were told no other was available. The room was uncomfortably warm without the option to lower the temperature ourselves. We will not be back. We enjoyed far superior accommodations at a lower room rate at the Palace Colonna Hotel where we look forward to staying on future visits.

Chambre à rafraîchir, taches d’humidité, petit déjeuner limité , peu de choix et à partir de 9h10 encore moins, dame qui sert les cafés pas très agréable peu souriante

Love the rooftop, breakfast and friendly staff. Rooms could use a bit of freshening: new coat of paint and a bit better lighting.
