HiQ Tyres & Autocare - Plymouth Omdömen 

Had a clutch replaced on a Citroen Bilingo and charged me an arm and a leg. Almost £1100 and was stuck for all options as that’s where the tow truck recommend and was far from home. Took advantage of a customer when they’re at their lowest. And then charged me 8.5 hrs for replacement (which seems way to long) @£165hr from memory which I think is ridiculous. I’m a plant mechanic myself back in Australia so have experience in the industry.
Had multiple garages say £700 on average.

Incredible service from start to end.
Rang up first thing on a Saturday to see if they could fit me 2 new rear tyres, within an hour I was there and new tyres fitted at very reasonable price. The bloke on reception was top notch and had some good chats whilst waiting. Will definitely use them again and wouldn’t hesitate for a second to recommend them.

Use HiQ every year for MOT. Staff are always helpful. The work is done quickly and reasonably priced. They always do their best to keep the costs down and the work is excellent. Highly recommend.

I've used this branch for 4 or 5 years now with a good service. On Monday, 17th Aug, I took car in for MOT & service. Failed MOT on washer jet alignment, 2 indicator light bulbs wrong colour & 1 rear fog lamp light not working (plus advisory on 1 tyre) so I authorised to go ahead with the washer jets & the 3 light bulbs but to leave the Advisory tyre just now. I then got another call to say problem with rear fog lamp as the entire light cluster needed replacement as wiring had gone. He said not cheap - at least £600+ for the unit alone plus labour. It didn't sound right to me so I said to leave that lamp work & I'd collect car, maybe sell or scrap. When I got there, they tried again to convince me to have it done by then it was '£900 worth it to keep me on the road' (I am a disabled female) but I still declined. Very upset, angry & disappointed that I felt like they were scamming me. Then I took car to Halfords Marsh Mills, where a (female) mechanic fitted a new bulb, checked the unit & tested it. Works perfectly £10:49 cost & took less than 15 minutes! Next morning I took car to Halfords again to re-do MOT. Passed with flying colours! So the moral of this is: Don't assume what the garage tell you is true - get 2 or 3 quotes from different places! By getting a 2nd opinion, I've just saved myself from a £600+ rip off! As against £10:49 (2nd MOT was free!) Shame on you, HiQ. So very disappointed.

Very knowledgable and helpful staff arranged appointments for me quickly and the work was carried to a high standard and for a fair price. Glad I found them and I will definitely use them again in the future.

At last I have found a professional company. Lost count over the years of having tyres fitted and finding that the wheel nuts have been done up with an air gun and not correctly torqued up.
As usual I got the wife's car home and checked the wheel torque settings!!
Bingo, they were all correct. Thank you guys.
Had 4 tyres fitted to my own car last year and these guys had also torqued them up correctly then as well so obviously the norm for them.
For those who don't know,it is very important that wheel nuts be done up correctly to avoid damage to the fixings and potential loss.

I’ve been using Hi Q tyres Plymouth for a few years now. The team go above and beyond to keep you informed and offer great advice and expertise. My family use them for all our tyres, mots and servicing. They really are one of the best around.

Fitted incorrect tyre after 1 hr wait. Didnt have the onebi ordered in stock and wanted to charge £129 to fit an equivalent. Poor customer service... will never go back

Once again service of high quality and standard. This was a job that I was honestly advised can be monitored but I decided to have it done in any event. The office staff are very friendly, patient and helpful. The guys carrying out the work demonstrate they are very knowledgeable and skillful. I find the organisation overall to be trustworthy, reliable and very professional. I hope not, but if need arises at some point, I certainly will use them again.

Booked a Taxi compliance test over the phone. The man on the phone was very helpful in assisting me with a query and it was booked in very quickly. Dropped car off and collected an hour later. Excellent service and would definitely recommend.

I was given a price to fix my air conditioning in my van ,but rang me and said they had repaired it quicker than quoted so reduced the excepted price by quite a lot of money,so am grateful for there honesty and would recommend.

I was quoted about £1300 for my failed mot which included welding work. I suspected that this was way too high and took it to another garage for a second opinion I am glad I did as i got it done for £650 half the price.I strongly recommend than you get a second opinion if you use this garage as they definitely overcharge for work.

Also with a previous car I had problems with the airbag which they charged very high. I got them to do the work and the airbag light come back on after a a few weeks. I don’t usually do reviews but feel i should let others know so they don’t get stung.

I only went back as I now have a Mazda bongo and they are supposed to be bongo specialists.
