Price on shelf is so often not the same as on the till. Check recipts. So many caught out. It's on purpose because Herons is the only store where this kind of thing happens

I went into Herons at sea road to grab some veg for my pets when a member of staff sprinted up behind me while screaming to 2 other staff who ran up infront of me and grabbed my arm they then demanded I remove my covid mask which I refused as I've had no vaccines,they then started shouting at me accusing me of being a shoplifter and then said they don't accept customers into the store wearing covid masks,I said who are you to say I'm a shoplifter when I'm far from 1 and showed I actually had £689 in my pocket.i was so angry they accuse me with out any reason to do so based on me wearing a covid mask our government tells us to wear if not vaccinated,one of the staff was the manager and the way she spoke to me with pure disrespect and a obvious hatred towards customers who wear a covid mask,I removed her hand off my arm and told her to never put her hands on me again and she then shouted at staff to phone the police so I said phone them ill happily wait as I've done absolutely nothing wrong.absolute vile store I will never ever shop at any herons again that's for sure,who do these staff think they are?I wish I'd recorded it and intact I'm going to wear a camera and gk in again and record the experience to make others aware and prove how vile these people truelly are making up false allegations against customers.i will prove it and upload the footage

Great store, some really good bargains to be had, staff are an asset !! I will definitely be back!

I visited the Hobs Moat store in Solihull for the first time on Friday, I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of the stock on the shelves and how clean the shop was, I am an elderly shopper who struggles to reach items at times. The Store manager was very helpful and polite and helped me with my shop.
Its very nice to see young people still with respect

I shop at most local
Shop and heron is by far the most often however I do shop there more often then any other local because is convenient hence my middle rating

Since herons was bought by bnm its gone massively down hill

Far too much pressure put on all staff
Managers are expected to work long hours without pay
Worse company anyone could work for

The store in Bury facing the bus station is a shambles. If I could give a zero I would. No sense of urgency from the staff, of which most spend time outside smoking. I’ve just been in there and had a 10
Minute wait to get served because only one staff member was on the tills and flitting between self serve because the price was wrong on a chocolate bar. No attempt to call other staff, or any help forthcoming from any other staff either.
Result was me missing a bus that runs every hour. Looks like Heron are yet another retailer paying a pittance on the lowest staff numbers possible and getting exactly back what they pay in.

A relative of mine worked there some time ago and was let go with a very poor excuse of why they let them go, they had done nothing to breach their employment contract, and two days after they're advertising for staff offering a 12 hour post ! My relative also told me the HR were rude to them on the two occasions they had to deal with hr, do not work for this company, no job security and there are certainly no opportunities to progress ! My relative was treated appallingly however thankfully they have some moved on to a far better job and an employer who looks after them, so who needs Heron foods ? Management are a joke there...

Hi i went for a interview with plenty of experience and didn't get a email stating i didn't like i was told and they employed some with tattoos and piecesing in face covered absolutely a joke for a company i wouldn't recommend anyone for a job there

Although the shop is clean and sells some good products, The School Pudding range is Absolutely Discusting, £2.50 for a crap pudding. Nothing like the pudding I had at school...

The Barton staff are really nice, helpful and respectful. However, what was an excellent company is poor since they were purchased by b&m. Prices are generally good but you need to do your homework as it's not universal. Food quality varies greatly. Some food is just not fresh and sometimes damaged packaging. On the plus side it seems to be clean. I worry about how well the staff are treated as they have a poor reputation from other areas.

Don't buy anything unless always keep receipts because of anything off there's the excuse

Extremely bad customer service, never known anything like it, staff completely blank all customers and chat and joke on headsets, not concentrating at all

We went to herons foods in high green and purchased some tins of diet coke the sign said 1.99 and when we went through the till the assistant charged us 5.75 instead of 3.98 when we questioned this she said that the price shouldn't be still on them the supervisor came and was very ignorant and rude half of the staff look like they haven't got a clue what they are doing and you have to ask for a receipt as alot of the times you get over charged I think the staff need training on there manners

Just went to the HOUGHTON REGIS store and picked up a "Too good to go" box (sometimes called a "Surprise bag".
Paid £3-30 for it.......
at the REDUCED LABEL PRICE on the items, it came to £2-58!
If I had bought the same items (which were in all honesty, c**p) in the shop at the reduced label prices, then I would have spent 72p LESS.

THAT, Heron Foods, is a RIP OFF.

Worked at herons hartlepool it was horrendous. The young girls were great some of the older ones were for want of a better word bullies. Manager was great. Either ignored totally or put downs constantly about your work couldn't do right for doing wrong. I have worked in retail for 47 years and have never worked in a toxic place like this. Does it make people feel better about themselves when they put others down and treat them like that? Will never understand people like that. The thing is when someone has been in an abusive situation themselves either physically or mentally it should make them more compassionate towards other people's difficulties whether it be at work or in general life. Funny how easily they forget. I'm out now and still trying to understand why it happened. A new year a new beginning.

This is for the Weoley Castle store. I’m a sucker for bargains and oh my lordy-doo-dah are there bargains to be had. Lots of them are on things that are very new & haven’t quite gone to market yet. The offers are all one offs, later you see the products at a comparatively eye watering price in the local Asda.

However, I’m knocking off a star because the staff are treated like rubbish. They do their best methinks. But they are subject to the place being robbed daily (seriously Weoley Castle? Raise your sights a bit higher than Heron Foods if you are gonna risk a criminal record. Selfridges or Marks and Spencer Food, maybe? Or at least raise your sights a little bit and do the Asda down the road) and staff also have been assaulted (at least one with a knife) but I’ve never seen any violence or robbing myself and the skankier locals aren’t Heron Foods fault.

However, I do wish they would treat their staff better. Most minimum wage place and retailers aren’t the best places to work.

I’ve never had any problems with the frozen food personally. I do check the refrigerated fruit ie berries/salad etc as sometimes they aren’t fresh or are verging on mouldy (ie raspberries at the bottom of the pack, or salad bags that are wet inside). However at other times they are really fresh.

The crazy offers tend to be sugar and carb heavy, ie sweets/cake/biscuits/drinks with lots of other things that are a very good price.

If I was a staff member I might be giving it a 1 but from a customer’s point of view it’s great to get crazy ass bargains. It means we save a lot and only do top ups at the supermarkets, which are much pricier in comparison.

Bought Christmas meal deal for£15 in December, took it home put in freazer, turkey joint was bad.sickness diarrhea stomach pains for 3 days.first time using heron foods never again no wonder it's so cheap.
