J'utilise Guitar Pro depuis la version 5. Ce logiciel a toujours été un très bon compagnon de travail pour la musique (apprentissage, enseignement, composition).
L'ajout des backing tracks dans la version 8 est une réelle avancée.
Néanmoins, pour les pièces ou le tempo change, la synchronisation entre les pistes Guitar Pro et la backing track peut demander beaucoup de temps.
P. S. : Beaucoup de partitions de My Song Book disposent maintenant de backing track, ce qui ajoute au plaisir. En effet, je peux maintenant jouer tout seul mais avec, en particulier, des paroles chantées directement dans la backing track

You can save your songs in tablature and notation for guitar, design how many bars should be on the paper and such. Quite a good software.

GP6 vs GP8
I felt much more comfortable using GP6. Though GP8 has some new or better features now, I miss the easyness I had using GP6.
Why can't values be adjusted by rolling the mousewheel anymore?
Who made the new pedalboard looking like this? The use of it is way more uncomfortable than it has ever been.
Changing tempo was easier in GP6.
The whole layout was so much better in GP6.
I agree with the better sound in GP8, but using GP6 was just more fun to me 🤷♂️

We understand that moving from Guitar Pro 6 to Guitar Pro 8 can feel uncomfortable at first, especially if you used GP6 for many years. Guitar Pro 6 was released over 15 years ago, and since Guitar Pro 7 the interface has been entirely redesigned to be more modern and aligned with current software standards. This inevitably requires a short adaptation period.
That said, no core functionality has been removed. For example, tempo editing is still accessible in one click and can also be opened instantly using the F10 shortcut, so productivity is not impacted, the feature has simply moved. For this reason, it wouldn’t be accurate to say that tempo changes are harder or less efficient than in Guitar Pro 6.
Regarding the pedalboard: Guitar Pro 6 did include a very basic effects interface for. pedals, but it is fundamentally different from the current pedalboard in Guitar Pro 8. The modern pedalboard is a much more advanced feature, allowing drag-and-drop pedals, signal chain customization, and deeper sound control. We understand that its new design may take some time to get used to.
We truly appreciate your positive comment about the improved sound quality in Guitar Pro 8. If you have questions or would like help getting comfortable with the newer interface, our support team will be happy to assist.
We hope that, with a bit of time, Guitar Pro 8 will become just as enjoyable and intuitive for you; and possibly that you might reconsider your rating once you’ve had the chance to adapt.

Just a thought...
I misunderstood and thought I'd be able to load actual songs into it out of my files which would be cool to have the song I'm transcribing right there on the same app. A combination of a riffstation-like/ stem splitter app combined with guitar pro would be brilliant.

Merci pour votre retour. En effet, Guitar Pro 4 a été publié il y a plus de 20 ans maintenant et quatre versions majeures ont suivi, donc la transition peut être un peu déstabilisante au début.
Cela dit, lors de l’export PDF, vous pouvez tout à fait nommer le fichier de votre choix. Vous pouvez également utiliser les différents tags disponibles et indiqués dans la fenêtre export pour automatiser le nommage, par exemple %f pour le nom du fichier ou %T pour le titre de la partition.

I've been using the Tabledit…
I've been using the Tabledit application for a number of years now and decided to take advantage of a GuitarPro special offer a few months ago, nothing really "wrong" with Tabledit, but rather just seeking an application focused on guitar. The approach to composition is different between the two and took some time to adjust, but in the end I prefer Guitar Pro for better automation and a more modern interface. The ability to import Tabledit files is only Simi-helpful because of the differences, but that's expected as translation compatabilty can be a tricky programming thing. Admittedly, I use the software for solo guitar tab and don't do full score, multi-track or multi-instrument composition but for my requirements Guitar Pro gets my endorsement. Couple of thoughts on future development:
1. Consider improvement to the bar - level "spell check" to actually make suggestions on solving a timing error, perhaps even Ai suggestions on a solution based on the rest of the score etc.
2. Use Ai to improve or embellish a score. (Think suggesting a bass line segment that matches the melody in a Travis picking score, or even suggesting a new accompanying track altogether).
3. Scan a composition to suggest changes, maybe a note that would work better for the key, or even suggesting changes to a score to a different musical style ie. "James Taylor" / "Billy Strings" style, or from one genre to another...
4. Improve chord diagram suggestions based on what's detected/selected within a bar, helpful with fingerstyle or flat picking arrangements where one may not need a full chord to play it.
I'm still learning the Guitar Pro workflow and all of the tools it has to offer, but it seems to be the "standard" application, offers best in class composition tools and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Pas ce que je recherchais mais...
J'ai acheté Guitar Pro 8 parce que j'espérais trouver un logiciel qui me permette d'écrire des partitions pour Pedal Steel Guitar. Mais, même si on peut créer une tablature de 10 lignes, même si on peut reproduire l'accordage d'une Pedal Seel, on ne peut pas annoter l'utilisation d'une pédale ou d'une genouillère. C'est frustrant ! On m'a proposé de me rembourser, mais je garde mon logiciel parce qu'il est pratique pour écrire une partition guitare, basse ou banjo (mes autres instruments) en gagnant du temps. La tablature s'écrit en même temps qu'on écrit la partition solfiée.
Et les sons ont progressé avantageusement par rapport à la version antérieure que je connaissais auparavant.
Reste à espérer qu'un jour, je verrai mon souhait exaucé...

I recently upgraded from a much older version (Guitar Pro 6) to Guitar Pro 8. There were many small improvements, but the addition of the audio track was a real game changer. It allows you to sync the guitar pro tabs directly with the audio track. You can easily hear if your tab is correct or not.
