GO Outdoors - Swindon Omdömen 

​I bought a bike on 27th August for my daily commute. Unfortunately, the bike was faulty so I took it back on 4th September.

The Bike Tech's ​initial repair attempt failed, but the Bike Tech assured me a part would be ordered, the repair completed, and that I would receive a call on Monday, 6th September to collect.

Monday passed with no update. When I called on Tuesday, 7th September, I was told the bike had not been repaired at all. I was then informed that the bike tech was actually on holiday until 22nd September, meaning there was no possible way it could have been ready on the 6th as promised. It would likely not be ready until 23rd September.

​To her credit, the manager, Alice, was very apologetic and arranged that I would get a refund (which is I believe in my rights as a customer anyway as product was faulty).

​My issue isn't that the product was faulty, it can happen. My issue is the poor service and lack of initiative:

​- The bike tech booked a repair date knowing they were going on holiday. Should have just said they couldn't fix it until 22nd or 23rd September, ordered the part and let me bring the bike back.
​- No one proactively called me on Monday to explain the delay; I had to chase them up.

​- Zero effort was made to resolve the problem proactively. They could have transferred the bike to another branch, brought in another bike tech from another store, outsourced the repair to an independent shop at their cost, or offered a replacement bike or offered a discount voucher as compensation which would be used with them in future, retaining my business.

​Apologies are appreciated, but they could have done so much more than the bare minimum. I'm without a Bike, they've lost future custom.

The jacket itself is brilliant, It packs down easily, breathes well, and delivers exactly what you’d expect from Montane.
​The buying process, however, was a complete shambles. After checking local stock online, the system clearly showed size Large available at the Swindon store, so I made the trip specifically to try it on for fit before parting with the cash. When I arrived, the only sizes on the rail were XL and XXL.
​Had the online inventory been remotely accurate, I would have saved the fuel, skipped the wasted journey, and simply ordered it delivered to my door. Great piece of kit, but trust the store stock checker at your own risk.

I was collecting my roof tent and was served by Morgan and Adam and two more helpful chaps you would struggle to find. A score of 20 out of 10 is well deserved.

On line shopping ok . But issue with price charged , did not charge member price and no details that a call has to be made to add card details. 1.5 hours waiting to have call answered as AI not able to resolve issue. Not unusual and frustrating as a customer. Price difference was corrected , and colleagues were very good when dealing with issue. Got through only to have issues with being heard. Did get call backs as promised to complete price for members. Need just a bit more detail to inform customers that if shopping on line ,you need to call to have details of membership completed before you pay, as no warning given on the web site. Item only on line , not available in store ?

Tom was so very helpful. I phoned to cancel something on my order which I did not want. He informed me I had ordered the wrong items for my tent and refunded me for the items I had ordered. He also explained the different products for campsite cooking. Very grateful for his input on my order.

Julie at the Swindon branch went above and beyond for me today. I have a broken hand and she put my horse food in the car for me and was marvellous. Very lovely lady.

The price at the till for one of the items came up £50 more than the marked price. I queried why this was. The girl on the till asked a colleague to go and check the price. The colleague confirmed that the jacket I wanted was on offer with a reduction of £50. Not a word of apology from the till operator!
Customers need to check prices carefully.

Bill was really helpful. He knew his stuff and was able to advise on exactly which bit of kit we needed. We were otherwise going to buy the wrong stuff that was not compatible. He also had some great tips for my young son.

Having had poor service from an online order (last day for arrival and still not showing as dispatched) I went into store to reorder the same items as they were time critical. Having sought a member of staff (Bella) though very young and I assume new to the work place, they were highly proficient - engaged with a manager and in general were a delight to deal with. If only the online system was so proficient.

Very good service, I was helped out by Darren and he's very knowledgeable and keen to find you the right kit. He has helped me pick out my previous 3 pairs of hiking boots and I wouldn't consider anywhere else. Great range, good prices, definitely will keep going back

435006 ordered on line went to Swindon store to collect. Had the air bed but not the tent, but found one in stock so I then bought that one and joined Outdoor members club. Please can I now get a refund on the tent that I ordered online but don't need to shop assistant said he would sort that and I would get a refund. No refund yet.

Julie in the Naylors department is an asset to the team. She went out her way to help us and is very friendly and lovely to chat to. Thank you for all your help fitting my riding boots!
