After maintaining my Car through NXT Motors cheap manual. I got it running at a low cost and i could repair it myself. Now I'm too old to drive anymore. So I gave it away

You decided to scrap the car from comments on the mot certificate when I suggested that the car could have been repaired and put back on the road. Perhaps respecting the car owners wishes instead of a certain profit for the charity should be considered.

This is a service that probably not many people will use, as they'll find a way to sell an unwanted car. However, if like me, you find yourself as a non-driver in possession of a car with no tax or MOT, it's one solution. The system worked smoothly and, crucially for me, includes the vehicle being collected and taken away. You can designate any charity to receive the proceeds, or more than one. I asked for a little extra info on what actually happened to the car than was initially provided, (because frankly I'm nosey), but it was immediately given to me. If you are in the slightly unusual position of not being able to dispose of a car yourself, I thoroughly recommend this service.

Clear procedure and a great way of passing on an old car. It saved me the hassle of trying to sell it myself and I liked that the range of charities to donate to included lesser known ones. My car was sold at auction and around half of the proceeds went to the charity, so I felt a lot less sad to see it go.

The idea itself is brilliant but the execution thereof was not always brilliant. I felt that I was not fully informed at each stage. I was also paid by cheque (which actually turned out to be less inconvenient that I though it would). I was offered a bank transfer but declined.

Giveacar arranged for the collection of my car over the phone very efficiently. They sent someone to pick up the car a few days later. He came when he said he would - rang in the morning to say he'd be coming in the afternoon and gave two hours' notice of his arrival. Collected the car efficiently. Minimum of paperwork. I heard from Giveacar a few weeks later. They had sold my car and given the money to my nominated charity. Although I was sad to see my old car go, Giveacar made the experience easy and helped me benefit my charity. Good to work with!

The telephone representative Tracey was brilliant - so when we had a problem with the car collector, she had it sorted and the collector arrived promptly, and we live in a remote part of the highlands - cant praise Tracey enough. The scrap collector was extremely courteous and efficient, and the car was away. Would recommend Giveacar service as first class, and the old car gave a charity a nice financial boost to boot!
