Couldn't disable auto renewal without going onto the chat service. I NEVER enable auto renewal as you can normally get it cheaper by searching. I NEVER just take a renewal quote unless it IS the cheapest

My car was repaired by Halo badly and the damage to the suspension completely ignored rendering the car unusable for half a year,

Although First Alternative were the cheapest on offer it was still very expensive for a very experienced driver. I find it grossly unfair that my 13yrs no claims bonus earned as a professional driver driving 28k+ miles per year cannot be used when purchasing private insurance at retirement. Particularly as I'd now need to have a very busy week in order to drive 50 miles.

Terrible claims department I had a small prang 50/50 fault they paid out to the other party before even talking to me I had door bell video proof but was told the claim had been settled there was no damage to my car at all and a small dent on the other car but their attitude was disgusting i thought theyd act for me not the other party I lost my no claims bonus aswell its cheap for a reason Terrible customer service avoid at all cost

I has never heard of First Alternative but as they were 5star rated by Defacto I thought I would try them. I was not disappointed !! . Easy to arrange cover and had everything sorted quickly and easily. I would recommend them unreservedly.

Great customer service after an initial mistake I had made when taking out a new policy..rectified very quickly and efficiently..and very competively priced..very happy so far.

When obtaining an insurance quotation it would be useful to see a draft version of the 'Certificate of Insurance' so that a prospective customer can quickly see what is, and what is not covered. Such as, is the driver covered to drive other cars lent to them etc. The key cover document should also be more readily available. Having to wade thorough the policy document, some of which are 50 pages plus, is not reasonable. I appreciate that the insured should take care when insuring a vehicle but things could be made much easier to understand what they are actually getting before they commit to making payment.
