No stars! Bought a couple of things from Fingerhut and returned them! This was a year ago and they never gave me credit for the items I returned and they are still trying to charge me to this day! Whatever you do don’t buy from these clowns they even went as far as to put a bad mark on my credit! Tried to call customer service 4 times and all of them acted with so much ignorance!

Closed my account for the 'fraudulent' activity of not using the card a year ago, then refused to re open or even tell me what happened or why, or assist me in any way other than repeating the same asinine bs.
Customer service first rep hung up on me. Love to keep saying the word fraudulent as if its a great way to insult someone.

Safeline Credit Protection
Do not purchase credit protection on your fingerhut account they do not pay your account off no matter how many documents you send. Also their products are cheap and poor quality. I had to apply for hardship and safeline NEVER PAID. THEY RIPPED ME OFF. I AM NEVER BUYING ANYTHING FROM FINGERHUT AGAIN.
Fingerhut falsified hurt my credit score too
I had an account and Fingerhut said I didn't pay a payment yet I had ! A collection agency contacted me and I submitted proof of payment and I disputed it but the collection agency didn't help me in a good way either as I thought they would,it hurt my credit score and even the credit Union that released my payment to Fingerhut used them as a reason not to give me another loan with them. I wasn't able to get help I deserved. Later I ordered from Fingerhut again but I paid in full for my item. So today I decided to build my credit and see if I could trust them the call went out then I recall and a lady,( May )said they were not issuing new lines of credit! I asked why and she said it was a business decision and she is a customer service representative. Well I wonder if she falsified to me or if she was a scammer because I couldn't get signed into my account originally and then this odd information.

While I rarely keep any of the merchandise I order, I intentionally make occasional purchases just to avoid having the account closed, as the company threatens to do if there's no activity within a few months. After ordering, I promptly return the item to maintain the account status without actually keeping their products.
From my experience, Fingerhut sells mostly outdated, discontinued, or closeout merchandise—items that wouldn’t meet the standards of most mainstream or up-to-date retailers. Their catalog and online store seem geared toward unloading low-quality inventory. I’ve bought a mattress and a pillow, both of which were disappointing in quality and comfort.
Fingerhut seems to target lower-income consumers by offering credit accounts with low minimum payments, which make purchases seem affordable upfront. However, the real cost lies in the high-interest rates and inflated product pricing, making many items far more expensive than they would be elsewhere. Just so others are aware that if you return an item for what ever reason you will be charged a ridiculous amount for its return. I returned an item for 133.00 and the charged me $47.00. They called it shipping charges. Never again.

Charged for an item that was never sent
I ordered five items but was only sent 4. I filled out their "I did not receive my item" form and emailed it to them. Totally useless. Their "customer service" told me to file out a police report and "provide police officer's name and badge number". Police reports are for crimes and no items were stolen and no items were lost. This company failed to send me an item I ordered and there's no getting through to these dopes. So now I'm being charged for something I was never sent. Seems beyond unethical.

I have been with Fingerhut for many years ever since the late 70s I never had a problem with them and what I like best is they were the first ones to help me build up my credit when I first started out with them I had none, as long as you keep up with the monthly payments your credit score will build and the secert is not to go over board when you purchase something from them, stay within your budget at what you can afford in way of monthly payments. I learn through Fingerhut how to stayed within my budget limit. Many of their products are top notch, although accasionially something might be off with the item I had bought and of course I had the not so fun at returning the item, any money I had put into the item that I had returned was refunded. The last item I had bought from them was a HP LapTop and hadn't had any problems with it, came to me in one solid piece, nothing cracked or broken, well package, if I remember correctly the laptop was a direct delievery from HP itself. Other items I had bought over the years was a Office chair, not just one but two of them, they lasted for many years wihout any problems, I also bought a pair of Dinning room chairs, Love those, and still have them yet. they were a pain to slap together however, but they were worth it afterwards. I have refer many of my friends and family to Fingerhut off and on over the years, and they also love Fingerhut.

I've been with Fingerhut for about a year now and they help me out with stuff that I need that I couldn't afford and it also helps rebuild my credit they started me out with an entry level $300 and I just buy little purchases and rebuild my credit I think they're a great company my mother used them and I think anything that she uses is good so if you want to rebuild your credit check out Fingerhut and it's kind of like a layaway you know you can buy products and get them cheaper you pay monthly payments it's a great way to be able to afford things that you know you can't buy right off the bat
Pricey, but dependable
I've never had a problem with Fingerhut's service or product quality, and I've been with them for years. My credit took a huge hit during my divorce and thanks to Fingerhut I was able to improve on it. They do mark up their stuff quite a bit, and their in store credit account doesn't have the greatest interest rate, but there are worse options for high risk credit.
Absolutely horrible
Absolutely horrible! Customer service is total crap. Ordered items that were delivered to the wrong address. We have never received the items but they will not work with us or stop charging. We are now on the hook for several hundred dollars for items we have never gotten. Avoid entirely!!!!!

They opened up ANOTHER account, supposedly, yet the amount owed is literally a few dollars difference. And they opened it WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE OR CONSENT. I think that's THEFT of SERVICE

Bizarre and unjustified negative remarks on my credit
I wish I could give zero stars, as Fingerhut does not even deserve one. I’ve been with them for about 6 months. I always pay early and more than the amount due. All of a sudden they hit me with 64 negative points on TransUnion and 22 negative points on Equifax. The remark was due to a “natural disaster” in my area. First of all what does that have to do with my credit? I wasn’t impacted in my area by the recent hurricane. None of my assets were affected, nor my income, so why on earth am I being negatively affected by this? I called them and they couldn’t give me an answer or help correct their wrong doing. They told me to write a letter of dispute and mail it. I have done that and reported the dispute to both creditors. I am awaiting a response. I also read reviews that they did this to others. Please do not do business with them. I work extra hard and go above and beyond to build my credit so I can have a decent life and if need anything I have a good credit score to lean back on. And Fingerhut comes along and destroys it. So wrong! :(
Inappropriate Business Practices-and I'm not even a customer!
This company allowed someone to open a fraudlent account under my name and ssn that I only found out about when Web Bank showed up as the one and only negative mark on my credit report. I contacted them requesting the basic information they claimed was "my" account, like the items purchased and the address they delivered to, but they wouldn't do it. Why? Get this...it's was because I couldn't verify the account belonged to me using my own information! But I started receiving collection letters, so I tried again, by mail, to get the receipts and other basic information about this debt they claimed belonged to me. Instead of simply sharing "my own information" with me, they responded with a generic "insufficient evidence" letter back, saying I still owed them almost $400 and to pay up. All this was after they already ruined my credit scores, so all I could do now was fight to have it removed. In order to do this, though, since the debt was LEGITIMATLY NOT MINE, I had nothing to prove it wasn't me. Without them showing me the account details, like how the initial, and only, payment towards this account was made (when the items were originally ordered, I assume) or the delivery address or phone number given to them, I had nothing to compare my info to. They refused to do anything but flood me with letters. Then, once they knew the account was opened fraudulently, they still went ahead and sold the debt to some other, unaware, third-party debt collector, which meant I had to start this whole process over again. And I did, but now, all this new company could do was tell me I had to get that information from the original creditor because they didn't have the details. Of course.
There is no doubt in my mind that these companies understand that by splitting up a purchase and/or customer's account into the hands of multiple companies, they can easily pass someone they don't want to deal with back and forth until they finally give up, leaving the businesses to come out on top, every time.
In no reasonable world should it be ok to accuse someone of stealing from you/owing you money while you exact consequences against them, very long lasting ones, without AT LEAST producing what evidence is available to the accused. Even our Justice system says someone should be innocent until proven otherwise. So what does that say about how this company does business?

I've had a good experience so far with receiving the couple of products I ordered. There was one item I got that was incorrect but they got me the correct item before Christmas.
Fingerhut - sending used products - clear fraud
I purchased two (2) pair of shoes from Fingerhut. They sent me two (2) pair of shoes that were obviously worn/used and most likely returned by another customer. They asked me to send the shoes back to them. They have the shoes I returned and claim they did not send those shoes to me. Their response: They didn’t send the used shoes to me.
They continue to bill me for the shoes and have now reported to all three (3) credit bureaus that my payments are behind, negatively impacting my credit rating. In reading over the many negative review concerning Fingerhut, I am contacting a couple of attorney firms to have this legally settled. I am thinking that all the folks that have been harassed and lied to by Fingerhut could take part of a class action settlement lawsuit against them.
Please contact me if you’re interested. Based on all the negative responses online, I am sure a case against them is justified and would be a win for those defrauded.
