Be careful if your credit card changes…
Be careful if your credit card changes while you have an EveryDrop subscription.
After my credit card was replaced due to fraud, I received an email from Whirlpool when my next subscription order was due, stating that my subscription had been placed on hold and instructing me to either call or update my payment information through the link provided. I went to the website, but I couldn’t find a way to update my payment information, and my subscription appeared to be canceled. Based on what I saw, I created a new subscription using my replacement credit card.
Later, the original subscription—which I could no longer see or manage online—appeared to be reactivated, and I received shipments from both subscriptions. It also appeared that the original subscription was processed using my previous credit card information.
Since I had not intended to receive the duplicate shipment, I asked customer service to provide a prepaid return label. They declined and instead advised me to return the unopened package by writing “Return to Sender” on the box to avoid return shipping charges. Unfortunately, because the shipment involved multiple carriers, the package was returned to me instead of to Whirlpool.
I also hope Whirlpool improves its subscription management system and return process to prevent this from happening to other customers.
