Evans Halshaw - BYD Chesterfield Omdömen 

Phoned the Chesterfield branch to view a Mazda CX5. Salesman said he would get the car ready for me to view and test drive. Upon arrival I was ignored by 3 different people and was about to leave when someone finally decided to ask me if I was being seen. They fetched the salesman who was supposedly dealing with me and we went to see the car. It was immediately obvious that he hadn't bothered to even look at it before my arrival. The car was filthy, and had some issue with it that the salesman thought made it undriveable. He then tried to get me interested in a different car (after not bothering to check on the one I was interested in). I went to Stoneacre and bought a car from them, never to return to Evans Halshaw again!

Luke and James have been great to deal with.
Luke was very easy going and applied no pressure which is exactly the approach i was hoping for.
Hence a successful sale.

First positive great car handover experience before purchase..That's it for the positives.
After contacting byd Chesterfield 2 days after having the audi A3 which at just under £10000 and being a audi my expectations of quality trouble free vehicle was sadly wishfull thinking.when i was buying i was told of all the quality checks in fact the checks where above and beyond.
Well there was a number of issues knocking front and rear and a engine rattle not associated with tsi injectors after going back for the warranty work the front and rear knocking was repaired but the engine rattle was put to a known issue from a release bearing which i had to live with also suggesting buying there extended warranty at £875 🤔. As I have just been in a bad experience with a dodgy car garage I did not expect to be told this.
The rattle makes the car sound more like a diesel than a petrol engine. When i asked for a replacement vehicle as I did not feel that the audi was of satisfactory condition or fit for purpose and was causing me undue worry.
Instead of granting my consumer right I was told they would bring it back to Chesterfield and get it diagnosed by a ex audi tech once taken i was told I would be kept updated.
was i updated NO I received an email telling me the audi was coming back to me no info no diagnosis. when I asked for an update I received an email "He has set off mate, should be with you within the hour, I believe the technician has given him the update" so nothing in writing no longer a Mr just "Mate".
When the audi arrived the salesman said the tech had no definite diagnosis . So thats it they refused to swap vehicle.
Im now persuing a full refund through ctizens advice and trading standards and there own custmer care if there is one because a car costing £10000 and manufactured by audi with a tfsi engine should not sound like a diesel engine with a bag of marbles rattling around the bottom of engine.
The law states that a vehicle must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. To be of satisfactory quality, a car must not be faulty or broken when purchased, and it must be of a standard that a reasonable person would expect, taking into account its age and mileage if it’s secondhand. On a another note being told its a realease bearing issue but no offer to repair it after owning it for 48 hrs after purchase! Really. Also the previous owners garage who's invoices where with the paperwork gave me some intresting information concerning the fault he told me the fault was present and advised the owner to take it to audi as it needs there evaluation. Shame I cant post video as proof of how bad it sounds.
If its a rattle from suspension or brakes they fixed it easy but a concerning rattle from within the engine its a known issue with release bearing no easy fix but buy our extended warranty jusy in case.
Also the lack of conversation with a customer post purchase is worrying.
This could of been a great experience but the fact they have ignored my rights and caused me so much stress with there lack of respect for me as a consumer is poor.
Think twice when buying used from evans halshaw.

After sales service very disapointing

I recently purchased a 2025 Nissan Qashqai from Evans Halshaw BYD Chesterfield and shortly afterwards noticed marks behind the infotainment screen.
I was informed that a warranty replacement had been discussed with Nissan; however, despite multiple follow-ups, I did not receive any confirmation or updates.
When I subsequently visited a Nissan dealership in Sheffield, they were unable to find any record of a request and arranged the warranty replacement.
Following my complaint, Evans Halshaw apologised and acknowledged that incorrect information had been provided and that communication had fallen short of expected standards.
While I appreciate the apology and the eventual resolution, the after-sales communication was unsatisfactory and required repeated follow-up. In contrast, the Sheffield Nissan dealership delivered an excellent level of service.
Overall, the after-sales experience was disappointing.

Perfect from start to finish, I bought a car here at chesterfield when being up in Scotland. Anthony was very knowledgable took me through all the process and kept me up to date with all of the purchase information and how my car was getting along. He even picked me up from the train station to get me to the dealership. Excellent service and great cars. Tremendous experience

I have just purchased a Mazda CX3 from Evans Halshaw Chesterfield with the help of Darwin King who was an absolute delight to deal with.
It was a ridiculously hot day (in the 30’s) we were immediately offered a cold drink and a seat while we waited for Darwin.
The car needed a couple of bits sorting and these were verbally agreed and I went away leaving it in his capable hands. A week or so later he rang to say that the car was ready, as I had been in hospital for major surgery I wasn’t fit to drive so Darwin said he would deliver the car for me (hope he didn’t get told off bless him)
I’m a bit of a technophobe and he was super patient with me with all the online stuff (I like paper) he was so patient with me.
Darwin is an absolute diamond.

never buy a car from here, recently purchased a car and they said they did all the work and fixed everything when i got it the full suspension was broken and now 2 weeks later it needs to go in for more work as there is many things wrong with it they never fixed after i purchased the car
