I arrived at the Edinbourgh branch at 16:05 after having had difficulty getting into the building and waiting for the lift. My collection time was 16:00 , I waited penitently for the rep to finish with a customer and started talking to him at 16:15 where he told me the staff that let the cars out had gone and that a late collection fee of £150 would be required if he was to try and resolve the issue. At this point I accused him of trying to scam me. But he insisted that I was late and it was my fault. I had no option but to walk away!
The whole reason for the car hire was taking my 90 year old mother who had just recovered from a hip fracture to her best friends funeral. Having traveled with her from london by train I then needed a hire car for her but instead because I would not roll over and pay £150 as I was not l late I ended up loosing more money in taxi fares.
Absolutely disgusting behaviour!!!

Even after online check-in documents still needed to be scanned manually at the office. Over 1 hour wait at pickup with only three customers ahead of us.

Insurance and payment policies both clearly enough stated beforehand. Digitalization clearly hasn't reached this place yet.

Office staff did their best but system is terrible.

My experience with Drivalia was absolutely the best ever. There is a person named Raahil Muralidharan in the Edinburgh City Center branch and he is the kindest person I have met ever. He did something so kind that saved my entire trip to the Lake District in England. I will never forget his gentle nature and exceptional service to customers.

We've just hired a car from their base near waverley station in Edinburgh. I was in two minds, bearing in mind a lot of negative reviews. However we found them faultless: and I can certainly recommend them.

Robb was very helpful and accommodating. Registration and pick up was a breeze. Two thumbs up.

Wish I could give zero stars. This is the Edinburgh Downtown location.

Reserved a car through Booking.com and had confirmation from Booking as well as a welcome email from Drivalia.

Despite this, the clerk claimed my reservation was not in the system and let me know at least 6 times that it was a bank Holiday and they had no cars.

They had a box with dozens of keys, but they were all reserved for the next day. He let me know there were no cars available on all of Scotland for the holiday and they were having to get cars delivered from England to meet the demand.

I suggested he give me one of the cars he had in stock and then when he had his cars from England the next day, he could rent that to one of tomorrow's arrivals.

He said he couldn't reach his boss because they are at level -4 in the underground garage and hed have to go all the way up top to get signal. I stared at him for a minute and said "I think you should do that, dont you?"

While he was gone, his young colleague somehow managed to get through and they agreed to release a car to me. At over £900 MORE than what my confirmed prepaid booking was for.

Claimed that Booking.com did not forward my reservation to them so could not honor my prepaid price and could only rent to me at that day's rate. And its a bank Holiday, dont you know. Nobody in Scotland would have a car available.

Oddly enough, we went to another company and mysteriously were able to get a car right away.

Scammer and con artist!!!

We’ve been waiting for 1 1/2 hours at Edinburgh airport pick up and drop off, which was 1/2 wait and 15 min journey in itself from the airport. The staff will not tell us how much longer we have to wait, people are getting angry and they don’t care. It is one of the worst car hire experiences I’ve had and I’ve not even made it to the desk and got a car yet!

I spent 2hrs 40mins waiting to pick up a car at central Edinburgh car hire then he gave me the wrong car a automatic when I specified a manual shift
the cars petrol tank was 3/4 how are you meant to return it at that level Very poor service wont be hiring from you again

The pickup point was close to Waverley Station. The staff were friendly and attentive. As the administration was being completed we had a good chat and they decided to give me a free upgrade. (It pays to be nice and respectful as a customer)!

Ich hatte über booking.com einen Wagen von Drivalia gebucht (mit Versicherung). Bei der Abholung sagte man mir, dass meine VISA debit Karte nicht akzeptiert würde und ich daher eine neue Versicherung abschließen müsse (39 €/Tag, also doppelt so víel wie die Wagenmiete). Ich hätte den Wagen sonst nicht bekommen. Von booking bekam ich nur die viel billigere dort abgeschlossene Versicherung zurück.

My friends and I booked a car on Saturday 9th May, at 10.00 am. We got the car at 1.00 pm: 3 hours waiting in the underground car park standing, no signal, pure surreal situation of having around 20 bookings all at the same time, only 1 Drivalia agent (Florence) who dealt as best as she could, without having a single break. The 1 star is only for Florence who's stayed calm, apologised for the inconvenience, and dealt with the whole surreal situation as best as she could.
