The first trial demanded superhuman patience: the wait time at pick-up felt like an endless siege before the fortress gates. Furthermore, the virtual sentries of the online customer service proved mediocre at best—swift as a falcon, yet stubborn, lacking options, and thoroughly unaccommodating.
Yet, when the hour of drop-off struck, the tide turned into a glorious triumph! A true hero named Robby stepped out from the shadows. With grand chivalry, boundless friendliness, and a swift hand, he completely redeemed the quest and turned the return into a true feast.
Verdict: A grueling beginning and stubborn online bailiffs, but the glorious Robby saved the honor of the realm! 4 out of 5 stars.

I booked a car via Easy Jet car rental website and it went through to Drivalia. Car booked from 3/7/26 through to 6/7/26 at Aberdeen Airport. On arrival at their Cabin Office at the Aberdeen Airport site, was told I could not have the car unless I paid a charge for Zero Excess Cover for £195 and that had been reduced price which I was not expecting to pay, I was put in a difficult position as I needed the car, really I should have walked away and just lost the money for hiring the car, but at the time you don't think about it so had to paid. The car was returned a day early on the 5/7/26 as I had to go home early, so car was returned back to the original cabin office and parking space about 8.15am, another customer was returning his car at the same time, the office was closed and there was no staff in the Drivalia office and on the paperwork it states the opening hours are 8am to 4pm on a Sunday. The gentleman asked the next hire car office what we both should do with the keys and was advices that there was a mental drop key box attached to the Drivalia Cabin office and to leave the keys in there. There was a full tank of fuel when I left the car I had only driven about 20 miles if that on the Saturday. On Friday 4/9/26 I received 2 emails demanding a payment of £1145.91 of which I have no knowledge what it relates to, as no letters or emails have been received in these 2 months. Have phoned twice and requested call backs no call back has been received, have sent a email to their customer care email address, and did a chat box chat today only to get a respond saying would I like a discount offer, answer no I want a answer as to what this all relates to, have had said if I don't get a answer or call back today, I will be going to Citizen Advice Bureau, Trading Standards and send details to the TV programme Rip Off Britain. I would advise customers NOT to use this Company, if this is how they treat customers.

AVOID DRIVALIA — WE WERE CHARGED THREE TIMES

Our experience with Drivalia was completely unacceptable. When we arrived to collect the car, we were told that none of the four different credit cards we presented worked. They then said that unless we paid for an additional insurance policy—costing approximately the same as the entire car rental—using a debit card, they would not give us the vehicle.

They put us under enormous pressure, knowing that our trip depended on receiving that car. With no practical alternative at that moment, we were forced to pay the extra insurance.

After returning home, two additional insurance charges appeared on my card. In total, we were charged three times, and I ultimately had to block the card to prevent any further charges.

This felt like a deliberate and abusive tactic designed to force customers into paying unexpected fees when they are most vulnerable. I strongly recommend avoiding Drivalia. Do not be tempted by the initial rental price—the final cost and the stress can be far greater. Based on our experience, I would never rent from this company again.

Had a great experience with this car company. I recently rented a VW to travel around London. The car was clean, comfortable, and in great condition. The whole experience was smooth and hassle-free. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a reliable car rental service in aberdeen drivalia uk

Awful. What a rip off. Used a third party booking company who booked me in at 10am even though my flight to Aberdeen got in at 1pm. When I arrived at the Drivalia office, the assistant claimed I was late and my booking was invalid. She claimed someone else had turned up (really?) and taken the small car I had booked. She then asked for an additional £148 for a car for 3 days on top of what I had already paid. Walked to Enterprise around the corner and managed to hire a medium sized car for £84 incl of insurance from a very professional assistant. I had heard about appalling rip offs by Drivalia and this just proves the point.
