Dobbies Garden Centres - Stapleton Omdömen 414

Visited the cafe today to use my birthday Dobbies offer for drink & cake.
Dreadful experience all round.
Queue in the cafe was unacceptable - only one serving area open despite there being numerous staff who didn’t appear to be doing anything (one was actually filling in paperwork in a ring binder).
When we finally got to the front we were served by a member of staff who was quite simply rude. We asked for an americano coffee and tea for one. My husband said he didn’t need any milk for the coffee - so she didn’t give me any milk for the tea either. When I asked for some she slammed it down into cup and said quite clearly and very sarcastically to the young man next to her “honestly first hot milk then cold milk then no milk”.
Totally unacceptable. Won’t be visiting again and as soon as I got home I rang Dobbies and cancelled my membership.

It’s my local Garden Centre and Waitrose store. Easy to park, five minutes from home, couldn’t be better. Been going there for over forty years……..so not going to change now.

Ques over 20 people long . Took us 15 minutes to drive there and 25 mins to queue and pay . Only one till was manned the other lay idle . Instead of using one till for cold food and drinks and the other for hot meals and drinks , both had to queue together . I only wanted a sandwich and my friend a toasted teacake , hers was stone cold by the time we had paid . Instead of one person taking orders it would have been better for her to man the other till and let those dishing food out deal with orders whilst plating up. Won't bother having lunch there again

Looks like they are selling up and moving out. Half the plant area is empty. Looked untidy inside and out. The flower beds outside were always tidy and planted up. Starting to look run down.Till area was also half closed up with 2 members of staff on till. Not as busy as it normally is.
Only popped in for something someone asked us to specifically get for them for present.
Sadly I think Dobbies just went mad buying up the wyvale stores irrespective of how close another store was. Quantity over quality at the expense of keeping stores tidy and manned with staff. You can't offer the service with stores run on a shoe string.Stapleton was a gem as was Atherstone. Although Dobbies has been going for 150 years its not the same company at the top and they don't have the same values. Try Palmers at Enderby.

Excellent visit today. Booked for soft play with my granddaughter and the staff at the restaurant were excellent, especially Tom who was so helpful and kind. He certainly is a credit to you.

An afternoon out ruined by a new menu of drinks with limited staff and incorrect machines to supply ice.
Cannot blame the staff trying their best in a very poor situation. Won’t be renewing my Dobbies card after this debarkle!

We visit the garden centre regularly and have always been pleased with the products we buy and the excellent customer service we receive even though the store is always busy the staff are always polite and helpful. We would like to give a special shout out to Donna from the horticultural team. Dobbies are so lucky have such a dedicated team member she has done our pots and hanging baskets this year and they are amazing big big thank you.

Went for lunch at Woodlands in leicestershire. I had lasagne with salad and a bowl of chips. My wife had quiche and salad. Let's just say the salad was the best part of both meals. My wife's quiche was rubery in texture and the pastry wasn't cooked. My lasagne was warm very runny and the chips were warm. We had two cakes. Very nice. Such a shame the main meals were so poor.

My husband and I visited the garden centre today and whilst there at approximately 3.15/30 pm decided to have a coffee and a sandwich. There were no sandwiches available so we decided on coffee and a scone. After our purchase we attempted to find a table where we could enjoy our snack. There were many available but unfortunately all had the previous occupants plates, cups, napkins and trays still there along with crumbs and evidence of liquid spillages. After occupying the least messy table to eat I then used the toilets within the area, what a mistake! Dirty toilets, toilet paper on the floor in each cubicle and wet messy sinks. I saw no evidence of a cleaning rota signed and dated by staff.
Thoroughly disappointing experience, which we will not be repeating. Shame as previously we have had much better experiences.

Very good selection of plants, seeds seed potatoes and bulbs.
Hot Chocolate and Coffee excellent. Staff helpful and friendly.

Meet up here regularly with friends for coffee. Lovely atmosphere and gorgeous cakes!! A wander round the garden centre after very rarely go home empty handed as there are so many different things to see.

Well I wish you would have the Edinburgh woollen mill shop back a lot of people would like it back ???

Good range of products but a bit disorganised on our visit as just getting rid of all the Xmas displays.understsndable but products to do with gardening less available, probably due to the season
.overcharged for a reduced item from Waitrose too. Nice coffees, pleasant member of staff, a young man served us in the cafe

Popped in for a visit mid morning at Dobbies Stapleton, we thought we'd have a breakfast cob, you can put 3 things on it from the breakfast menu, we picked bacon, tomato and mushroom, when it was delivered we had a look while putting the red sauce on, it was a SINGLE rasher of fatty bacon, half a grilled tomato and a large mushroom on each cob, so for our £11.98 we had a couple of cobs with 2 rashers of bacon, 2 half tomatoes and 2 mushrooms, the mushrooms were nice and big but they were all cold, I'll not be having these again!

Lots of things besides a great range of plants to look at.

Sincerely, it's just getting worse and worse at the Ashby Road, Stapleton, Leicester LE9 8JE centre. Given the superb customer service at the Nuneaton centre and where the food; cakes, salad and hot food far surpass that churned out here, I wonder if actually the same Dobbies at times.

Twenty minutes to just get a cappuccino today (not for the first time) and yet there was only three couples infront of me ordering basic tea or coffees to go with their cakes. They had already selected the latter before I pulled up behind them.

Cause for this usual chaos...because they same staff operating the till are also having to make the drinks.

Meanwhile two perfectly operational 'stand alone' tills are sitting empty in the middle of the two serving aisles. The whole process is just a nightmare and I've lost count how hot food has chilled off by the time I eventually manage to get pass the till. Don't bother anymore with hot food here.

Huge overhaul required from the bottom up; customer service (simple smile one day would be nice) and their focus. Food quality, food delivery, payment options such as a fast lane for drinks only and the entire store layout etc could do with a face lift. This centre is just going to damage the Dobbies name in due course.

Frustrating to have to write this but things have to change. Residents of Market Bosworth and surrounding areas deserve better as do our countless tourists.
