Currys - Slough Omdömen

A real mixed bag on my visit to the Slough store today.

I just went in to return a cable (I hadn't realised that one was included in the box of something I had bought a few days ago) - I was directed to the returns counter by a great chap (who told me a couple of "Dad jokes"!) who said that whilst there was nobody there at the moment, the person in charge would be with me "any second".

Several minutes (roughly 5, but I'm not certain) still nobody turned up and there were more people now queuing behind me. There were plenty of other staff nearby, but none of them appeared to be ready to come & help. So - and this may seem extreme - I then used my loud voice to bellow across the store "hello - can somebody help us here please? Queue waiting"!

This seemed to do the trick as "Chris" came over from talking to his colleagues - however he immediately asked "why did you do that?". I explained what was going on & his response was "well, you should be more professional when you're here". I did point out that I wasn't actually working there & that I was a customer. He then processed my return in a pretty surly (but quick & efficient) manner, but never once apologised for keeping me or anybody else waiting.

I realise that my method may have been unconventional & not for everybody - but maybe prioritise the customers waiting, rather than chatting to your colleagues?

Anyway - there it is - I've had excellent service in this store in the past, so maybe in Currys' view, I'm to blame for being vocal - who can say?

Great customer service.

I purchased an LG TV from Curry’s online. When it was delivered the screen had 2 -3 small cracks. I then reported it and had to submit a video showing the cracks. This was accepted. Currys customer service assisted by Steph asked the Slough branch to collect the damaged TV prior to getting a refund.
The Slough branch failed to arrange the collection. Day after day I called and begged and pleaded for them to collect the TV. Nothing happened till I drove out to Slough (40 miles each way from my home) and forced them to arrange collection. Throughout, Steph tried to assist but the Slough branch were useless. Once the TV was back in stock I got calls from Slough to come in with my debit card to get the refund even though I paid for the TV online. Steph, in the Customer Service department tried to help me with refund without going back to Slough again but could not get it done. Steph of the Curry’s Instant Assist Team was without doubt the most helpful lady that I dealt with. She tried to resolve all the problems that had developed during the whole process. I finally drove out once again another 40 miles there and 40 back and arranged the refund. Thank you so much Steph !

This store is absolutely awful - the staff are rude, unprofessional and very unhelpful. The communication and customer service skills of the staff is horrendous - what on earth is your Human Resources department doing recruiting these people? Why aren’t you training them? The manger said “I’m too busy managing so I can’t serve a customer” and no one was available to talk to me about a TV purchase.
The Head Office and Area Manager need to investigate the absolutely abysmal and diabolical level of customer service within this store - it is appalling.

Had some great help getting a laptop. The gentleman who assisted me was genuine and very polite and helpful. He was wearing a sparkly bracelet and wore glasses, i forgot his name but he was lovely.

Delivery was within time slot given. Machine was installed promptly and checked for leakages. Staff was very polite and courteous.

Disgraceful customer service from Currys Slough. Bought a new printer from them and didn’t have brand I wanted so chose a different one. We asked shop assistant if it was idiot proof to install as it is obvious we are elderly (76 yrs old) and he just said follow the instructions. He was not overly helpful at all.
I installed over weekend and it printed only in black and white but not colour. I persevered all weekend to try to sort but without success. An IT friend spent 3 hrs the following day and couldn’t get it to print. So we decided to take back to Currys for a refund which they wouldn’t do as the box had been opened. How on earth do you find out if a printer works if you don’t take out of box and connect it. They told my husband that it we had told them we only had Windows 10 they would have said it is not compatible to our computer. We were never at any stage asked anything about what computer we were connecting it to. In fact we were never asked any questions at all. Disgusted with their response and would never buy from Currys Slough ever again
