I had been unsuccessfully dealing with the HMRC for a while, trying to get a refund for Higher Rate SDLT that I had paid on a previous property. The HMRC were wrongly refusing payment which was incredibly frustrating. I contacted Cornerstone and was in talks with Sam who took on the case. Initially Sam got a similar response from the HMRC, but after pointing out their mistakes once again he was successful in getting me refunded WITH INTEREST. I am so glad I used Cornerstone to solve my issue with the HMRC, and I am extremely grateful for Sam's hard work and professionalism; he was quick to respond, extremely knowledgeable and honest with his scope and costs. Mehmod was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. He also gave us another route to consider which would have been a better route to follow if we had had time on our side. He researched a technical point he wasn't sure of before returning with a firm answer.

Reached out to Cornerstone tax to ask about recent stamp duty I'd had to pay, and a potential refund due to a recent separate court ruling.
