I contacted Charles Plumbing Services Ltd in the DN22 area, who had 5* reveiws, to book an emergency plumbing job for me. Had a young lad come out, barely do any work, left my radiator still leaking because "that wasn't part of the job". Charged me over a grand for a £250 MAX job. Charged me under the name/company FixNGo. When I finally spoke to the manager whose number he provided, it came back to a Crystal Maintenance Ltd company, who low and behold had review upon reveiw for overcharging and scamming people.. I have reported to both the Fraud team with the police, and also Trading Standards.

Avoid all 3 businesses at all costs.

I called them last night through google recommendations they sent 2 people who asked me to pay them over £2000 for a job that cost me £180 the next day, I was forced to give them £200 to cancel the job and today I received another phone call from them saying I have to give them £600 that they will take me to court I do not recommend to anyone.

DO NOT USE - Will overcharge and scam you for any service, claim it’s a small call out fee and end up paying £300 for nothing to be carried out other than a “diagnostic” complete scammers do not use

Rip off scammers. Also go under the name of george the plumber and fixngo and crystal maintenance.Cost me over £1000 to sort out a partial blockage and a new toilet as they said the old one was covered in scale and that was why it had blocked. Total lies. The blockage was not sorted and the plumber fitted a new toilet very badly. So when it flushed, water went everywhere and the waste wasnt flushed away. Made exscuses, said he didnt know why it was doing that and then ignored me. Had not attached the toilet to the floor and the cistern was held on wall by one screw which was only just in said wall as cistern was too far away, so i had to get another plumber to take a look. They confirmed the blockage was still there. When i went to pay the said scam compony, the plumber said their bank was down and i had to pay into another account. They have many numbers which are changed regularly. Their so called plumbers arrive in their own cars and you have to hassle to get an invoice which you only get after youve paid, which you are constantly haselled to do. Dont under any circumstances let these people into your home

scam company. not transparent about the diagnostic fee, charged £130 to tighten a tap. then quoted over £1000 to fix a toilet cistern

Never had a bat experience in my life and waste of money , the guy did literally nothing , tried to charge me 497 , after he dropped to 280 after I start complaining to him he ask for 200 cash , in the end did nothing to my electric , he just checks the plugs with a 5£ thing form Amazon , the issues still remain the same , electric tripping out and now I have no light in the storage room , instead to fix the issue he just izolate the wire and let it like that … never call them again , who’s seeing this comment should do the same !

Worth noting the company has a strike off given to them as of 2/9 on companies house

Scam company

A scam company. They charged an elderly former tenant £660 simply to switch off the water supply in his flat, clearly taking advantage of his situation. They have not responded to our calls or messages. I would strongly advise others to avoid this company.

Awful rip off merchants AVOID AVOID! Extremely inflated prices and incompetent. Had to get another plumber to sort the problem as they created a leak and then wanted a further £660 when got fixed for £125

Wanted to charge me 620 pounds to replace 2 light fittings grated it was a call out told me 60 on the phone then sent a higher quote beware there google search is at the top of the list and is under the name Edwards electricians ive just googled crystal maintenance and it says the company was dissolved in 2022 so obviously ripped too many people off

Overcharges not reliable can not speak basic English speaking in slang charged me £300 for diagnosing?? They take the call without doing any work avoid avoid avoid one star is generous

I’ve kept tabs on this company for a bit. Since poor use. Seems there’s more bad reviews. The company address has changed according to Company House. The risk is that they may even close or remarkably set up a new scam firm.

Absolutely disgusting company do not use these. We had a problem with our electric keep tripping so we rang them as they said they would come straight out. The call out fee was £47 which we were ok with. As soon as he stepped through the door he said it will cost us £410 to test the electric, at this stage it had already cost us and I didnt know how much it should of cost so we begrudgingly agreed. He spent several hours testing things and then said we needed a rewire and he could come back in the morning to start. I said I would like to get a few quotes before. He said ok but you need to pay for today before I leave which somehow was now £550. They sent an invoice for me to pay and and i would get a report in the morning. When we went upstairs he had left light switches with no covers on and we weren't able to use lights or appliances over 3 amp. When I eventually got the report the next day the bank details on this invoice were the same but with a different payee name on it which is strange and the report didnt really tell us much except to say the wires were perished.

We managed to contact a local electrician the next day who spent all day testing everything, he found the fault which was a lose wire in a light fighting and it cost me £300 in total for him to do this.

If we hadnt got a second opinion we would of had a pointless re wire.

This company sent a plumber which overcharged us massively to repair our toilet which was not re-filling and also the boiler to be re-pressurised
He replaced one part in the toilet which didn’t fix the issue and also left the boiler in overheat lockout which was air in the system and low pressure
He failed to return to fix the issues and we had to pay for another plumber to fix the repairs
AVOID!

My elderly mother was having trouble with the flush buttons on her toilet, they were not releasing. A 'professional' plumber came and her invoice amounted to £1,617.60. Call out £48.00, Procedure £850.00 Creating access for cold mains pipe £450. Total rip off and left her bathroom in a right mess. AVOID.

Wow…..Carlton Nottingham area….chap called George turned up as my 89 yr old mums toilet was leaking….did not turn stopcock/iso valve off..left it leaking and said bill would be £650+vat……my mum rang me and I told him to ‘do one’…..water inlet in cistern was faulty……£15 from Screwfix and 10mins to fit (I’m not a plumber)…..shocking!!!!!! Avoid like the plague!!!!!!

Absolute scam merchants! Our 92 year old neighbour had a leak in the kitchen. Obvious leak … water spurting from a broken seal in a pushfit elbow joint. They wanted NINE HUNDRED POUNDS for “leak detection!”
LEAK DETECTION!!! It was THERE! In front of your face!!!
Then they wanted SEVEN HUNDRED POUNDS to fix the leak!
IT WAS A PUSHFIT ELBOW JOINT!
Total of £1600 for a job that would take less than 10 minutes!
It was 11 at night and if I’d had one of the joints in my toolbox I’d have done it myself!
Absolutely livid!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Utter scam, tried to charge over £620 to fix a flush on our toilet. Had to pay them £88 to leave. They were sent to us from George the Plumber. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.
