People complain about their rates but if you don't negotiate, you're not going to get a good rate at any company. I go to Crown for the staff - they are always very friendly, very professional and I negotiate, so I always get a good deal. Seems like people just like blaming others for their own mistakes, blaming a retail company for existing just because they didn't do their research. See you when I go to Japan in December, Crown!

Jokers. 1 is saying i need someone to confirm as banknote of 500 eur is rare, 2nd beach with no sex, saying to my kid (1y.o) “aloo give back the pen” w T f- about banknote- she is not new, i cant take(not even 1 smash or cut or whatever). Prefer worst rate just not this jokers. Those ungraduated slaves has ZERO idea about professionalism.

Kerrie at Elanora was pleasant but the exchange rate given was very unpleasant. Unfortunately, I didn't do my research before the transaction and could of saved myself quite of few $$ at Travelex. Won't get caught again.

Looking at the rate and the reviews I should have gone to Travelex. Very pleasant lady at Crown Currency Exchange Indooroopilly Shopping Town but a very unpleasant exchange rate. Had I left the shop and walked down to the Travelex Kiosk I would have saved us $36 (7%) on a $498 Indonesian Rupiah exchange. Walk down to Travelex and save yourself some money.

I exchanged AUD 100 to Philippine Peso today at Crown currency exchange Adelaide, which used to be Unimoni exchange. I used to get competitive rates from the previous exchange and I need only a small amount, therefore without doing any research, I just went ahead. The rate I got was only 1AUD = 27.54 peso, while on the internet, the rate could be 33.5 peso. Very disappointed, and will not go there again.

Crown Currency Exchange Booth on Pitt Street Sydney which was run on both occasions I visited by George the Soccer Referee made me feel as if I was not getting ripped off. He was polite charming and helpful. I was happy to revisit and do extra business. Will recommend Crown to friends thank you George and as a Soccer fan supporting Brighton & Hove Albion in the UK, it was great not to be done over, by a referee for a change👍

I have been giving rate 28.2 and should be around 36 or 37 .
I exchanged A$425 and I got 12000 Pesos
I lost around 3500 Pesos.
Never again .

Had some HKD exchanged today at Castle Towers store in NSW. They gave a good rate and essentially matched the price of an online rate from a competitor. Had plenty of smaller notes which was helpful. Previous experiences with other stores only had larger notes which are problematic when you want them for tipping.
Easy exchange. No preordering required. No wait time, plenty people queueing at a competitor store, however their rates weren't as good. Do your online research before you go.

Absolutely worst experience, they don’t pretty much accept world rates or even close to it.

Crown Currency Exchange in Cairns have the worst rates and slow pedantic service.

Two days ago my daughter and partner went to crown money exchange in marrickville and converted $2400 aud to Vietnamese Dong and was given 25000000 dong now she is in Vietnam she rang me today to tell me she took out the vietnamese Dong that she put away for the trip and counted out only 16000000 dong so what happened to the other 9000000 dong and as they are only new to travel I checked the exchange rate today and $2400 aud exchanges to $39300180.48 vietnamese Dong not $25000000 Dong. Someones rubbing their hands together and it isn't my daughter who has been quite distressed over this and isn't a good start for her first big adventure.When she returns we will be taking this matter further and reporting it to Department of Fair Trading fortuantly she still has her reciept for the exchange. This is a criminal act I'm not going to say that this is how the whole company operates but staff the Marrickville outlet need to be investigated.

Upon questioning the validity of a significantly inflated exchange rate from AUD to vatu, the staff member from Crown Currency, Maroochydore, told me their inflated price, although higher than other money exchange places, is no different from purchasing a more expensive avocado at Woolworths only to find out it was cheaper at Coles, she refused to refund my exchange, then proceeded to threaten to sue me if I went public with our experience. She may need an education in the law because one of us committed a sue-able offence and it sure wasn't me.

My husband and I with not knowing too much about the best ways and times of ordering money with our once in a life time holiday. Jacqueline's approach to us made us feel as if we were friends and just not a number in the queue taking money off you. I will defiantly be back for future holidays cash. 100% satisfied. Jacqueline is amazing and a massive asset to this business. Will recommend to everyone to go here for money exchange.

A real rip off. It does not deserve a 1.

I recently visited Crown Currency Exchange at Woden Plaza in Canberra. I wont be returning or be recommending this rip off currency exchange kiosk.

I went there today to get Korean Won for an upcoming trip and it did not sound right compared to the rate used for my upcoming hotel booking in Seoul.

I tried to check the rate on Google but for some reason Google was not working. Odd because it had been working on my phone prior to this. So much for being able to do a comparison or check on the rate offered.

I did not proceed with the offer of paying over 150 AUD for 100,000 Korean Won. The representative tried to make out it was a good deal.

The representative also stated that they do not sell at the Google rate. I knew that but checking on Google later the rate was a real rip off.

I used my Wise card afterwards and for 150 AUD I got 128,000 WON so a rip off of nearly 30% which is pathetic. I spoke to people at work about this and an Accountant advised that I would be better off to wait until I got to Seoul. So I will be taking AUD there to exchange which I am sure I will get far better rates of exchange.

Be very careful dealing with Crown Currency Exchange and do your research and compare your rates. You may also like other alternatives like Wise or a currency card. Having recently travelled to NZ it was a good alternative for me and I was able to withdraw NZD out of a local bank ATM at a good rate with no ATM service charge. Far better than this Crown Currency rip off.

I certain agree with another poster that this currency exchange company is the ‘Crown’ of rip offs.
