I'm actually appalled that this company leaves unprofessional feedback for their one-star comments. I applied to this company and they offered 9-12 an hour. That's not even the minimum wage in my city whilst I have received offers from ESL companies themselves for over twice as much. In one of their comments here they write
"Teachers will not find the quality jobs we offer because these schools/companies don't post online or have the intentions to and we intentionally look for reliable and top tier schools, that have these intentions at hand. We do not work with popular online teaching schools."
How is a below minimum wage job a 'quality job'?

COREnglish is an excellent company. The team is supportive and kind. Additionally, they are always available with help whenever you need it. ESL teachers are provided with regular constructive feedback, teaching tips, and effective methods. I highly recommend CorEnglish to ESL teachers.

The recruitment process was incredibly fast! I literally got a job offer a day after I submitted my info and started working almost as fast. A few months later, I got another job offer! COREnglish works sort of like a recruitment company, at least, in my case, so take in mind, that they take a small percentage of what the school offers, which all recruitment companies do.
Working with COREnglish makes things easier. They sort of work like your agent, so if you experiment any problems with the school you teach, they are going to help you and be on your side. Overall, a good meaningful experience! There was a time that I wasn't receiving the correct amount of pay for my work, but that got fixed immediately after clearly communicating it with the recruitment director. I can say that all the problems that I had were resolved amicably!

I am so happy with COREnglish! I can honestly say that I've had the best experience, from the recruitment process, all the way to the hiring and after. They provide great teacher's support from the management, as well as fellow teachers. My classes are full and I've always been paid on time and the correct amount. Overall, I can't critique much.

This is a great company to work for. They understand you have a personal life and let you have your down time. They offer training if you need it and they understand that humans get sick and have to cancel classes.

The support and understanding from my manager' side is excellent. All the staff have been very friendly (specifically Shekinah and Edwin). The teacher support group is also fantastic! And all the other teachers are super nice. You won't necessarily have a manager or a teacher support group at other companies. This really is a big plus to have at COREnglish.

Hello, I have been working with CorEnglish for a short time, but from the first day I have found myself in a very friendly environment and I feel like have known them for a long time. The recruitment process is fast and you are informed for every stage. You can get the fastest answer on all the subjects you need from the moment you start working. Managers make every effort to make you feel comfortable while working and special thanks to Edwin and Shekinah. Thank you for creating such a caring and dedicated work environment. I have had the best experience with this company! I have been working with them for a few weeks now. The support that management provides has been great and the recruitment process is also excellent and fast! This company helps you every step of the way. The students are great and are all different ages which makes each new day exciting.

I was recruited by Edwin Landeverde, he was very friendly and helpful however after more than a year Of working through him I realized he was taking more than he should and was charging me 3 times the hourly rate in penalties if I was late or missed a class. I was getting paid substantially less than other teachers because he was pocketing the rest. Let's just say he made a lot of money off of me during my time with Core English.
However I thanked him for everything and kindly said bye last year September and up until now he has not responded.
So I'm not trying to give core English a bad name at all, I'm sure you are all great and do good work but I do believe you need to look closely at some of the people working there.
I have come across several complaints on Facebook groups about Edwin.

I was hired by Edwin Landaverde to do freelance work. He let me go after not wanting to commit plagiarism for him and no he is refusing to pay me for the work that I did do. This company and employees is a joke, very unprofessional. The WORST clients I have ever had. Don't trust anything they say.

Working for CoreEnglish has been great. It was my first time teaching and I found they were always willing to help. The platform used for teaching has been good with only one or two minor technicalities. The students can vary from time to time so you may need to be prepared for that. CoreEnglish works well with their teachers and always tries to help them.

Let me get this straight, I wasn't hired due to failing miserably on my demo but I am here to say that the gentleman who assisted me through the entire process -- from the beginning and till the end, is very kind, supportive and helpful. I'm not sure how the rest of the staff is but he is A.W.E.S.O.M.E. I was even offered help with applying to another school which was totally unexpected. Well done COREnglish!

Core English supports you the whole way through what would otherwise be a very complex and unintuitive process. The attention is 1 to 1 and are always there when you need help or assistance.

Online English Teaching is not an easy job. Due to the nature of it, there is a great deal of disconnect between the teacher and the company they teach with. This can lead to immense difficulty and frustration. However, COREnglish does a great job of facilitating these relationships and always takes the side of their teachers. As a teacher, it is great to always have an advocate because online ESL work has inherent difficulties that are very difficult to handle on your own.
