The Co-op Omdömen 

I am a senior, and took my shopping trolley to shop for the first time at my local Coop in Gargrave Yorkshire, having recently moved there.
When I got to the checkout, I stacked the trolley, but could not balance it. The lady behind the counter came around the counter to help me.
She is my hero! We were battling to get the trolley to stand up, whilst a queue was forming. She repeatedly told me it would be ok, and not to worry. Bits broke off the trolley as we struggled!
I eventually managed to balance the trolley, and get home.

..... and it was all my fault! Make sure you open the base so it stands up; BEFORE you fill it. I didn't do that (hadn't used it for ages). It is battle scarred, but still works.

Above all else, it was that lady's calm demeanour that helped me so much.
I don't know about other branches, but a loud shout out for that lady and the Gargrave Yorkshire branch!

Ordered for delivery. It was meant to take just over an hour. After 3 hours I cancelled. Now to see how long I'll need to wait for a refund. Shambles.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.

I paid £1.00 to join and proceeded to have the app as I used my membership with Deliveroo. What I had to find out by great staff that my 37.05 points were on the app but not on my card. How embarrassing and unable to shop. You are restricted to report a problem, points are not shown on the app you have to go to Report a problem to find them????! Trying to call them is hard. And don’t bother Googling!

House got sold 7months ago was told a payment day didn't arrive on the day they said rang up and was told bye one manger house hasn't been sold so waiting a week then got told bye another manger should have my money in a few weeks months have gone bye and when now I phone up I get a sercertay who is very rude not polite or professional and now after 7 months still waiting for my money and when I ring sercertay tells me case manger going to ring and no bodies does that's why I'm writing this review
Imagine now I've just sent this I've given them another call and the receptionist herd my voice and hang up!!! So now I'm planning on taking time off work to go to there office as nothing been done this is not right how they treating me

I spend around £75 online with home delivery each week excluding what i buy instore with cash so id say i was a good customer, the last order i made the delivery driver was harassing me over my purchases, i have an illness where i need injections to make red blood cells, i explained this to the driver as he was questioning me, i was trying to calm him down but it made him worse to the point he was shouting, we are all laughing at you and him fake laughing getting louder and louder at this point he's shouting laughing at you laughing at you, i was worried my neighbor's can hear all this and in the end i went inside and shut the door, i called customer service who said they would contact the store but no one has reached out to me in regards to this, so unhappy with the co-op i no longer shop with that store so they have now lost a loyal customer.

As of 05/06/26 i have only ben in once and spent very little, i can't bring myself to shop here even now.

Items were missing from my delivery, cigarettes and rolling papers.

The brown paper bag they use was not sealed properly. It had at least 5 inches open one side so i guess the delivery driver helped himself as the co-op staff who packed it made it very easy for him to do so.

I complained online and on the phone and now have to wait 3 to 5 days for a response to see what happens next. I'm annoyed that i have to wait that long just to see how they will resolve this issue and that they don't already have a solid system in place to prevent this kind of thing from happening in the first place.

Hopefully it will be resolved soon and the missing items will be refunded and hopefully the driver is sacked if he stole the items.

Coop are deceiving their customers, selling chicken as being well treated but if you look up the reference numbers it is actually slaughtered inhumanely in unhygenic conditions at Two sister slaughter house that has been exposed numerous times for bad practice and lying. Coop are complicit in there lies misleading consumers galore !!!! Boycot COOP

They scam you off just eat, just because an item is not in stock, they do not send you the full refund. if you pay for an item that is no longer in stock, the customer should be entitled to a full refund… also why are they charging “service charges”? Their staff are paid by the hour so where does this money go? In the pockets of billionairres??

Although I don’t mind coop for a quick visit for essentials,Two things I always buy Naturo dog food went up from £8 to £9.75 and simple face cream £3 to £3.30 both in a week,so paying £2.05 more for the items.
Shortly I will not be visiting at all.

I've been shopping at the co-op in Loftus (North Yorkshire) for several years and have always been very pleased with the experience and impressed by the helpfulness of the staff. I still want to give the store a 5 star rating, however, there is one member of the staff in the shop who is not very friendly and, in fact, rather grumpy. I think he needs to go on a short course to learn about being kind and friendly to customers. I quite often hop on the bus these days and go to the co-op in Staithes because of him. The shop still deserves an excellent rating but Mr Grumpy Guts definitely needs some customer service training.

Went to co op Hart’s hill Thatcham not been there before shop was very tidy at till service was very good and server was very professional believe her name was Jackie who was pleasant and informative nice well done will be back

Coop should be ashamed of themselves for keeping reducing the size of their bakery products and keeping increasing the prices. Absolutely disgusting! It is not inflation it is ripping people off!!

This is a complaint about the web contact on the on- line purchasing option.
I completed my order , but could not proceed with the payment because the mobile slot could not accomadte the 11 digets. Most sales sites offer the option of a land line as well as a mobile number for processing the payment. This did not. As a result i could not purchase the chosen items.
I expect some explanation on this failure.

The staff are disinterested and unhelpful.

Purchased a premium rose bouquet from Leominster Co op on 12th February hoping to purchase flowers which were fresh in store. Ten days later and the roses have failed to open and petals have turned brown. Co op complaints have offered a paltry £8 refund; my last ever purchase from any Co op store.

I’ve been a regular customer at Co-op, but recently I’ve felt uncomfortable with the increase in political messaging in store. I come to a supermarket to buy groceries, not to engage with political or geopolitical issues.

While I understand that stores serve diverse communities and stock a wide range of products, I personally prefer a neutral shopping environment. For that reason, I’ve decided to shop at Tesco going forward.

I hope Co-op will consider keeping their retail spaces focused on food and community essentials rather than political messaging.

Shopped online orders fulfilled except substitutes which were kindly refunded by CHARONNE this afternoon thank you so much also Zanaib great customer service girls...

I recently ordered some bits via the Co-op app for the first time and after initial emails telling me my items have been picked and packed and asking about and clarifying my substitutions, I was expecting it between 2 and 3 pm on Wednesday 18th February 2026 from my local store, but it never appeared!!! I then filled in a form for customer services via the app stating my order had not arrived AND telephoned the customer services number and both reassured me that my order would be redelivered. I waited the whole next day only to receive nothing, not even any emails to say anything was happening! I wish I'd read these reviews first as I couldn't have imagined how badly managed this company is. What do the Chief Execs get paid, because it is too much! How hard is it to pack orders the same day they are due to be delivered and to not bother with unwanted substitutions, but just offer refunds instead? I, (and I'm sure many other people), could manage this company better than this! And judging by the lack of response to these reviews and customer service in general, I don't think they give a toss!!! I'm not sure they actually have a delivery service. I ended up just cancelling it via the form on the app again and instantly received an email saying it had been cancelled. (I better receive a refund!) I don't think they ever had any intention of delivering my order! Obviously I won't be ordering online from them again.

I was led to believe that the co-op cared about the community and our environment. How wrong can you be?
I wanted to buy a drink that is in a glass bottle. Knowing that I have several at home and because I'm active in the zero waste community, before leaving I gathered up all the empy bottles and headed for the back of the store where there was a bottle bank in the corner of a large car park.
After 2 circuits of the empty car park and finding no bottle bank, I headed into the store to ask if I was perhaps just not looking hard enough.
The first member of staff that I asked had no clue what a bottle bank was. His older colleague informed me that it was not something they offered any longer. What's more they were adamant that there isn't a waste bin at all on the premises!!
No store should be selling bottles without providing facilities for the recycling of waste materials. That's definitely something I will be discussing with the council.
I was about to buy a funeral from the company, but if they can't dispose of a few bottles, I definitely don't trust them with human remains.

I bought some co-op gravy today and my gosh it was the worst gravy you could ever imagine it was a watery liquid full of lumps and tasteless. Admittingly it was only 80p but I wouldn't use it if it was free
