I am satisfied with the ease of signing up to a funeral plan.

Stay away don’t use co-op they are liars and don’t care

My mother was left in the hospital morgue for weeks, having been told she would be collected and brought to the funeral home in Keynsham. I specifically asked if she would looked after and held in the branch and was told yes that was the case. Having contacted co-op several times we were told she was still in the care of the mortuary, final they emailed to advise she had been collected and taken to the care centre. A warehouse in warmly so not Keynsham at all. If they had explained this is how they work and how disrespectful they are to bodies I would have insisted the family use an independent funeral directors. She was treated like an Amazon package.
Co-op are over priced and the funeral directors are sales people and don’t care they just want the sale.
We had to ask them to remove their advertising from the back of the order of service.

I have bought a funeral plan on their website. It was really straightforward and only took about 30 mins. I chose the Co-op funeral service as they had handled my husband's funeral. The service I received was excellent. I have chosen a pre-paid plan so my children will not have the worry or financial burden when I die.

Honestly I can not give enough praise for the Trowbridge branch. They are so helpful and always go the extra mile to make sure any question or query is sorted asap. I needed some assistance today and they were helpful and courteous. It really is commendable. Well done.

I have been left utterly distressed by Coop funeral care, specifically the Warrington branch but also the company in general following further issues with the complaints team.

A ring which was logged on the receipt I got when she went to the funeral home went missing. When the home noticed, rather than calling me they just deleted it from the system and the paper copy mysteriously vanished. Luckily I had kept mine. It came to light when I asked the day before the funeral if I would get the rings on the day of the funeral or need to collect them the following week. They told me someone would call me the day after the funeral to discuss. No-one did...

Lorraine the manager in Warrington was investigating. She frequently didn't call me back at the time and date the promised so I had to chase for updates. They investigated and the outcome was 'inconclusive'. I asked her at the beginning if I need to report to the police and Lorraine told me she would report to the police once she had completed the investigation. Once she delivered her outcome, she told me they wouldn'0t do this as no evidence of theft. She delayed me from reporting this and now the police cannot help as too much time has elapsed.

I raised a formal complaint, Lorraine told me they would call me within a few days. I had no call. I called the complaints team who said they never had this message to call me and would issue an resolution letter shortly. I said how, you havent even spoken to me about my complaint. At this point its not just the missing ring, its the misinformation, failure to maintain contact and horrific service.

The complaints team investigated and it came to light they knew the ring was missed 4 days before the funeral and when they noticed, instead of calling me they just deleted the missing ring from their system! I have the proof in writing from them this happened.

They also told me that the coop funeral care in Warrington did not paint my Grans nails. This was a conversation i had with Emma who was the main person helping me to plan the funeral. She was the one who said do i want her hair in a certain way, nails painted etc. We had a full conversation about how I paid the carehome extra so she could have her nails painted each week and how important it was for this to happen. Emma lied in the investigation and said i never asked for her nails to be painted.

They cannot tell me what happened to the ring, they have no reasonable explanation they just keep saying inconclusive, its lost. It is not good enough.

Its disgusting. The last thing i could do for my gran, give her the funeral she deserves has been destroyed by their lack of care and potential theft.

Would like to say a massive thank to staff declan at burnley Co op funeralcare. Declan went above and beyond with caring for us while grandma k. Ireland was passing and after she passed . Helped my mum with her emails from cop op and changing the funeral plans. Declan is a credit to the company. Very professional caring and compassionate. Thank you ❤️ Rebekah & Elaine.

Our appointment with Claire was on time and held in a private office she explained every aspect of purchasing a funeral plan with sympathy and proffessionalism both myself and my wife are happy in the knowledge that when the time comes to pass everything is in place and will be taken care of so to make the time easier for our family

Steve was friendly, polite and treated my father with respect and kindness. He guided us through the various packages and was patient when he had to repeat the information for my dad. Exceptional service from a really nice chap.

The people I talked to were kind and interested and they helped me to choose the right plan.

We were treated so well by Co-op Manchester (Levenshulme - Errwood Road) from the very start of our dealings with them after the sudden and unexpected death of a family member.

They were thorough, respectful and kind throughout.

Special thanks to Arowen and to Andy and his colleague (sorry I didn’t get his name) on the day of the funeral. Andy even took time to comfort and give tissues to a distraught family member.

Efficient from 1st time I contacted Co-op. Lena was professional & informative.

We arrived for our scheduled appointment a member of staff greeted us and showed us to a private room. Explained everything,once we had decided which funeral package we wanted they promptly dealt with this. The staff member was professional,freindly and very helpful in the whole process. All in all a very well presented and professional service provided by the coop funeral service in Bathgate West Lothian.

The staff were very friendly and informative.

I had the pleasure of meeting Elodia from the funeral care office. From the moment we arrived she was caring, professional and very kind to my mother who was feeling very vulnerable. She made us feel at ease and arranged everything for us, so we didn’t have to worry about anything.

Staff were helpful and well informed when I set up the funeral plan for my father but the paperwork didn't arrive by email, as arranged. It took three further calls and an email to finally get it sent through - so, good initial experience but slightly let down by the follow up action, or, inaction.
