Chaotic
Stayed in Clayton hotel grand canal.
One night stay.
Had meal booked for 5.30pm.
Thinking we had plenty of time for show in Bord Gais 7.30pm.
Our order taken quickly.
Took 45mins for course to come out.
main meal came before starter.
Had to wait for starter after main taken back.
We had to call waitress for desert as time was pushing on and we were running late to get to show.
It was a very stressful chaotic atmosphere in restaurant.
Room were clean , breakfast ok.

We had a group of 50+ which stayed at Clayton Cork City Hotel for three nights during pre Christmas December 2025. The feedback from everyone in the group was glowing in every respect. The hotel was excellent (including location, rooms and restaurant) and the staff could not have been more helpful. Never stayed at a Clayton group hotel before but I would wholeheartedly recommend this one which was excellent.
Old, dirty and rude staff.
Arrived late, had to wait 25 mins for a shuttle - there were only 2 of us on it. Iphoned as we got through passport, again when we got our luggage - they had lots of time to organise it (it was 12 am). Three buses were waiting at the hotel. The receptionist threw the key at me - the first room was freezing - the window was left open, the 2nd room hadn't been cleaned - crisp crumbs on the chair, dust everywhere - no bodywash or shampoo. The third room was marginally better. Wish I had booked a newer hotel near Manchester airport.

Sorry but thought this would be a great hotel to start our holidays reception lovely till you got into the bar restaurant staff was cold and un welcoming couldn't be bothered to serve you attitude awful need re training on customer services they need us more than we need them ??
Shame won't be booking again
Enjoy an unpleasant stay in Hell! Actual Hell!
I checked into this hotel a few hours ago. It’s Saturday night and the volume from the music, car horns and general carnage below is like trying to get to sleep in a bad night club. I asked to switch rooms (to the arguably quieter side of the hotel) but was met with the old ‘Sorry we’re fully booked’ chestnut. Meanwhile, legions of drunk guests stagger the hallways, shouting their faces off. Oh, and there were 15 people crammed into a lift earlier. That was fun! I’m seriously lamenting my life choices as I type this review.
If you’re in Cardiff on business, I highly discourage a stay here, unless, of course, you’re not a fan of sleep. It's like a Travelodge with slightly nicer decor. Truly, truly awful!
Manchester Airport
I spent a night at the Manchester Airport Hotel. The room was lovely very quiet and very comfortable. I had a meal in the bar where I was served by a lovely young man named Kalon Douglas Torr, he was very respectful and attentive, a credit to the company.

Booked this hotel in Limerick on the way to a music festival in Bantry. Due to a house move we were unable to go and cancelled our booking 5 days before we were due there. Booked through agents and neither hotel nor agents will take responsibility for refund. Multiple phone calls to both and emails to which neither respondedAvoid at all costs. Stole £200 !
Inadvertently booked Clayton Hotel
Inadvertently booked Clayton Hotel, Limerick through their agent Hotelsone but then cancelled via their agent 5 days before due date. Card charged and despite numerous emails to both the agent and the hotel no one will refund the £200. Shocking theft.
LOVELY ROOMS WITH THOUGHT PUT IN FOR FUNCTIONALITY AND GUESTS REQUIREMENTS
Stayed at the Clayton Hotel in Glasgow. This is one hotel group that has successsfully thought of functionality for guests. Great illuminated bathroom mirror for ladies doing their make up/men shaving, shower controls at the opposite end from the shower head so you don’t have to try avoid getting soaked or freezing when turning it on, shelf in shower for putting additional toiletries on and hand towel rail that’s actually positioned next to the sink. A lot of hotels have mood lighting which gives no real light when needed, and rarely have a towel rail in a handy position (pardon the pun!!) next to the sink for drying hands.
The rooms in the Clayton Hotel in Glasgow were spotless and tastefully decorated and we had a brilliant and comfortable one night stay there.
Excellent experience
I stayed at the Clayton hotel at Dublin airport recently with my 2 kids. I was impressed with the bed quality. We had amazing stay, breakfast was superb. All staff were very profesional and nice.
Double data entry on a dodgy site.
Nice hotel but they ignore Booking.com booking that you make and take you some off site dodgy portal to charge you card. Looks like some data scam.
So in effect yo have to enter in all your info twice..
as it people have time for this.. thats the whole reason you use booking.com etc.
Great Hotel perfectly positioned
Manchester City centre !!
Great Hotel perfectly positioned, very central with lots of dinning options inside and very close at hand. `Rooms are well appointed and clean.
Breakfast was great and plenty of it.
The staff were first class, friendly and attentive. special shout out to Kareem on reception who sorted out a small issue in a flash.
.All in all I would definitely use again.
Clayton Bristol horrible manager “Gismo”
Had an awful stay at the Clayton Bristol City hotel. The location is great but the water temperature in the room was freezing.
Phoned down and spoke to the night manager “Gismo” who is by far the rudest man I’ve ever met. Had no care for the issue and offered to sort it the following day - helpful when checking out by 11am. Rude, vile man who is clearly in the wrong job.
So helpful
Clayton hotel Cardiff .
Due to another hotel losing our booking we were left stranded in Cardiff on 1 of the busiest night of the year. Staff from previous hotel told us they had secured 2 rooms at the Clayton.
When we arrived it was for 1 room only and we were fed up and exhausted. The staff went above and beyond to help us. Eventually they found a spare single bed and put it in our room. Relief .
Then they gave us complimentary drinks while we waited for our room to be made up and free breakfast .
The lovely staff did not have to do any of this for us. We are so grateful and will stay at this hotel for all future visits to Cardiff.

The check in was through two machines that do didn’t work When we achieved our room it wasn’t “deluxe” as advertised. The next morning we went down for our 4.30 pick up but it had already gone. When we asked what we should do we were told walk or get an Uber. My husband had had recent open heart surgery but that had no effect. We walked to terminal two. No response fromClayton staff.
Unimpressed
Arrived at the Clayton Hotel in Cork on a tour of beautiful Ireland. Husband specifically booked a hotel with a balcony so we could sit out of an evening. This room cost a lot more than a standard room. However when we got to room we found a sign on door to balcony stating we could only have access if we knock on the next door's room and get access somehow to our balcony! SO NOT IMPRESSED. Will be asking for a refund as really only paying for standard room.
I have to say that my recent experience…
I have to say that my recent experience at this hotel was nothing short of appalling. From the moment I interacted with Ross on the night desk, it became clear that he is completely ill-equipped to handle the role he has been given. His attitude was not only passively aggressive but also dismissive, unhelpful, and frankly, incompetent. It is astonishing that someone with such a lack of professionalism and basic customer service skills could be trusted to manage the front desk during any shift, let alone the night shift when guests are most vulnerable to needing assistance.
To make matters worse, the security guard on duty was no better—completely cut from the same cloth. Rude, unapproachable, and utterly disinterested in helping guests, he only added to what quickly became one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. At no point did I feel like a valued guest; instead, I was made to feel like an inconvenience for simply expecting the minimum level of courtesy and professionalism.
While this hotel may be inexpensive, that should never justify such shocking behavior or such a lack of basic service standards. Cheap rates do not excuse rudeness, incompetence, or an environment that makes paying customers feel unwelcome and unsafe.
I will never stay at this hotel again and strongly advise anyone considering it to look elsewhere. There are plenty of other hotels that understand the meaning of customer service and guest care. Do yourself a favor and avoid what was, for me, a horrific and deeply disappointing experience.
I stayed in the Clayton hotel
I stayed in the Clayton hotel, Leopardstown, Sandyford Dublin. I was attending a hospital appointment. The hotel room temperature was 28 degrees no air conditioning. I was just given a fan. I didn't sleep all night felt very ill as a result. I will never stay there again. No fridge in room either for drinks. This hotel is out of date and not fit for purpose. Staff were unfriendly and not helpful either i heard loads of other people coming up complaining about their room. Please do not stay too there. What I paid versus what service I got was so so bad😞
clayton hotel at liffey valley
Stayed at the clayton hotel at liffey valley dublin and I have to say that the staff can not do enough for you. Sarah Jane in the restaurant was outstanding and always very happy and smiling. She is an attribute to the company and deserves a lot of praise. Thank you very much Sarah Jane
Rooms are uncomfortably hot during the summer
I booked the airport hotel. While the hotel and staff were lovely, the room I booked was uncomfortably hot and made it difficult to sleep. I raised this with the manager, who pointed out that the lack of air conditioning is mentioned on the website and that fans are available on request. However, for a 4-star hotel, I expected better climate control without having to ask. Future guests should be aware of this—I'm sure it's more comfortable in cooler months.
