There's no excuse for not building…
There's no excuse for not building homes with sustainable energy sources, such as heat pumps, solar panels and batteries. These are way more expensive to retrofit than to include with new build, especially in conjunction with underfloor heating. Yet, Chartford @Burley Wharfedale are still relying on fossil fuels to heat their high value houses.
The fact that they haven't to date responded to this feedback also speaks volumes about this developer.

POOR KITCHEN SUPPLIED BY OMEGA KITCHENS OF DONCASTER
The house it self is fine just the odd bits you get with a new build
The kitchen however is a different story we payed an extra £1700 for the colour and style we wanted
The day we moved in there was chipped paint on a few of the doors the end panel on the island it was 2 different shades one mat the other gloss OMEGA agreed to sort it I asked what happens if the paint keep coming off not to worry we will sort it
Well over 12 months on and it’s still not sorted and it feels like chartford are trying to wash there hands of it by saying we need to deal with omega directly
What chartford don’t get is we bought the kitchen off them with the house they bought it off OMEGA so it should be them sorting it out not us
Phil from chartford says he has tried to have it out with his bosses over it but they are not interested (has a brown envelope been about 🤔)
Omega even suggested it was down to a 3rd party us having 3small dog that had been jumping up at doors that’s what ghe paint was coming off
For 1 our dogs don’t jump up at the doors 2they can’t jump that high to get to the top cupboards
Chartford have stopped replying to our messages now
They may think because they are no longer on sit it over with well think again I will be coming to your head office to see you
Great Customer Care
We are currently going through the process of buying our second chartford house.
We purchased our first house on the cookridge development 6 years ago and have recently upgraded to a 4 bed on the same development.
Chrissi has been amazing through the whole process and has been so patient with us. She is always there to help and has gone above and beyond on many occasions. I could not thank her enough!!
I would recommend Chartford to anyone. They build the houses to a great standard and have great after care for the very few snags you get.

This is the second house we’ve bought with Chartford homes. We had such a wonderful
experience with our first home, we went to Chartford when we wanted to buy our forever home. The process from start to finish has always been brilliant. Customer service has gone above and beyond for us every step of the way. We absolutely love our home and we couldn’t recommend them highly enough!

Wharfe Green Chartford review
There are two schools of thought to consider when buying from Chartford Homes.
Firstly the pre-sale care. This came with both positives and negatives. Chartfords representative Bev on the Wharfe Greene site at Thorp Arch provided an excellent service. We always found her to be welcoming and centric to our needs. This part of the customer journey was excellent. Chartfords recommended mortgage brokers were also very helpful and provided us with an excellent service. The downside to the pre-sale process was without doubt the recommended Solicitors. Levi Solicitors of Leeds were sub standard in their approach. They fell short of the mark as unfortunately we had to do most of their job for them and they didn’t provide what I would suggest was a positive customer journey. This unfortunately falls as a negative against Chartford as it almost felt as though we were led down this route.
I have to also say that during the pre-sale period, notably, Mick the site manager was fantastic and he was a person that I built a really good rapport with. He made us feel at ease and was very accommodating each time we attended the site.
When you consider the post sale experience this is where we have found more negatives than positives. We are fast approaching 2 years since we purchased the property and quite a lot of issues are still outstanding. Notably our shower tray is of poor quality and was put in when it had bowed. We have had 3/4 visits over the past year snd are still no closer to getting this replaced. Ultimately the work required is to remove the tiling, remove the shower tray, replace said shower tray and re-tile. Another element is our flat roof. This is meant to have a run off and to take water from rainfall down a drain pipe. In heavy rain, when there is a lot of water, this does in fact drain however we raised that not all the water drains and we are left with some standing water on the flat roof. Another issue is our Bifold doors. Damage was caused to the exterior sill of the door prior to us moving into the property and this damage is yet to be fixed despite visits from the installing company and Chartfords.
We also have solar panels installed on the property. Information that was passed to us about the solar panels involved quite a lot of technical jargon. As a new user of Solar panels, ultimately all I have required and asked for is a dummy’s guide to what I can do and how I manage the energy created. I am yet to receive this information.
Post Sale has also had positives were quite a lot of our smaller snags have been fixes in a timely fashion however it always feels to me that house developers live in the hope that you will forget about some of the bigger issues, or just become accepting of them. What a customer really wants is for the post sale experience to be led by the developer rather than the customer having to chase on a regular basis.
Alas, we continue to contact Chartfords and hope that in the near future we will have all our outstanding issues resolved.
In short, they are far better than 2 other so called reputable developers that we have used but there is still room for a world class level of customer service.
Absolutely awful after sales experience…
Absolutely awful after sales experience following shoddy workmanship causing long term problems. They continually ignore you - then give you lip service saying they will sort out the issues- only to go back on their word.Buy from a different builder if you take my advice- these are an extremely unprofessional outfit.

Poor roof construction from Chartford Homes resulting in water penetration inside causing damp. Do not buy from this builder.
Awful customer service regarding this issue which has been ongoing since 2017. Ignored every email until last week when they eventually came out, said they would rectify but have now gone back on their word.
Terrible customer service
House is only one month out of warranty and company refusing to help after a shatter proof shower screen smashed even though it’s clearly a fault from manufacturer they use ISideal
Shatter proof shower screen are designed to shatter but not smash, mine has smashed but chartford aren’t interested in helping
sales staff lie and are rude, several last minute delays to moving in
we bought our first new home from this company and it was an horrendous experience! Chrissie, the first salesperson we spoke told us virgin media had already laid cable and BT infinity was in the area. This was a blatant lie, we had to wait 4 months for virgin to lay cable! Next was bev white. This woman is rude and obnoxious, forced us to use a surveyor and lawyers they have on retainer with threats to withdraw from the contract if we didn't use them! (which we later found out is a crime!).
Then came the rude emails when we asked about moving in dates, then came several last minute calls, some of which were the day before we were due to move, saying there was unexplained delays.
We finally moved in and they were still laying the turf in the garden, on a rainy day which subsequently failed to take. But bev white jumped at the chance to say they don't guarantee the garden, which they couldn't even be bothered to level off!
