We are renovating our Victorian property and Castrads have a choice of beautiful and fantastic quality cast iron radiators that are in keeping with a period property. They have a full spectrum of colour and sizing choices and all the accessories required. The customer care is second to none. Helping with enquiries swiftly. Castrads keep you informed of production timelines and delivery information. They also use a very reliable courier to transport the radiator. We are delighted with the spec and finish of our radiator and will certainly be back for more as our rooms are slowly renovated. I would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for the Rolls Royce of radiators.

I accepted the inherent risks associated with radiator refurbishment. I did not accept responsibility for separate, costly, and irreparable damage caused afterward during careless delivery.

An analogy would be this: if I ask a company to replace the battery in an expensive watch and agree that there are risks involved in opening and servicing the watch, that does not mean I also agree that the company can mishandle the watch afterward, damage it during delivery, and then claim the damage is covered by the battery-replacement risk I accepted. Those are two different issues.

That is what happened here. The radiators were delivered back to me on September 16, 2025 without proper protective wrapping or separation. They were in direct contact with each other, the delivery cart struck the curb, and the radiators collided heavily. This was documented with photos and videos.

Castrads is now trying to shift responsibility for the serious damage caused by improper delivery onto me by saying I accepted the risks of refurbishment. But this is a delivery issue, not a refurbishment issue.

Castrads’ refund offer was also conditional. They would only refund the refurbishment payment if I agreed not to hold them responsible for the damage to the radiators. I did not agree because cracked cast iron radiators cannot simply be repaired; they must be replaced, and replacement also requires removal and reinstallation labor. Those costs are far greater than the refurbishment fee alone. Because I did not agree to those terms, the refurbishment refund was never issued.

Castrads presents itself as an experienced company with more than 30 years in radiator refurbishment, but my experience showed careless handling, lack of accountability, and an attempt to shift responsibility onto the customer. In my view, the company’s conduct does not match the reputation it promotes.

The matter remains unresolved.

Very helpful and excellent customer service. I had ordered two items that didn’t actually match up, as I am not a plumber I didn’t realise. However, Castrads noticed and queried with us before despatch so all sorted, thanks to them.

These guys sell an amazing product, we bought 12 and they look amazing, look no further if youare looking for cast iron rads. Stamford Radiators removed the old ones, disposed of them and fitted the new ones in just over 2 days they worked 8-6 pm, in a heatwave! Superb professional job!

Emily was a delight to deal with. Great suggestions on the model we were selecting to go with the Ox Blood base metal version. She sent pictures of the radiators to supplement the website shots (feedback: website pictures should be improved) and got a sample for me out same day so that we could take it when we traveled to the renovation site. Castrads are always easy to order from and their items are always high quality. I needed some replacement items shrouds, base plates and wall stays for my radiators and they had them in stock and able to deliver quickly.

I had a bit of an issue with the delivery for one of my packages but Ania was able to resolve and give me a refund one my order. The delivery partner DPD is usually quite reliable but they sent out an unexpected delay message and then returned my parcel without a note.
