I initially had a great experience with Buildstore, attempting to obtain an Agreement in Principle for a self build mortgage. However, I made it clear all the way through that a tight deadline existed that I needed the decision by, and initially there was more than enough time to achieve it, but have been unable to speak to my adviser now for a week. I provided all information and paperwork promptly whenever asked. However, the adviser dealing with my case went on annual leave for a month with no warning, and so I had to repeat almost all of my information to the new adviser on my case. Unfortunately, this adviser went on annual leave within a day or two and despite telling me he would still be checking emails and making sure my case was processed, has been unresponsive for several days. Numerous calls to the office only result in "we'll get back to you" which is yet to happen. I contacted another contact I had initially spoken to see if she could help, and she is also on annual leave. Is the whole office on holiday and no one thought to mention it last week? The deadline by which I need this agreement in principle is now fast approaching and at the moment BuildStore seems intent on wasting my time.

Felt the need to write this review. Andy Lochrie dealt with me today, I explained my situation and I needed things to happen fast. He told me he will update me when he gets a response form the lender. Which luckily happend quite quick considering the situation we are in. Then he instantly updated me by email. After that he got the deal done and called me with the good news which was in less 24hs your request will be complete. So thanks for keeping me updated Andy and getting it sorted so quick. I understand that this isn’t always the case but just keeping me in the loop meant a lot 👍🏽 #givehimapayrise

Claire at Buildloan has been fantastic at facilitating the stage payments for our mortgage. She helped explain exactly what was required and guided me through every step.

All aspects dealt with when undertaking a build.

My husband and I applied for a self-build mortgage & insurance through BuildStore. It was due to complete just a few days before the pandemic hit and the country went into lockdown.

BuildStore have been fantastic throughout the whole process.Each member of staff goes above and beyond to provide a first-class service. Good service and helpful staff. Andy Lochrie and Claire Graham particularly. Would appreciate a quicker turnaround on emails and calls but I accept this is probably related to the level of business at the moment and maybe some furloughed staff. Self build mortgages are tricky to negotiate around, and having Buildstore by our side was invaluable.

The initial approach and process can be very stressful especially if this is your first self build. That said, once you get get underway the help and support you receive from the Stage Release Team is exceptional, they really do appreciate the time and financial constraints you are under and work tirelessly to get the submissions to the lender as fast as possible. I can say that the SRT are fantastic professional individuals and work as a well oiled machine together. I cannot thank them enough now I have got to the end, but the beginning of another project!

Michelle was extremely helpful and prompt to get the case progressed very smoothly and in a timely manner. She was able to address all sorts of questions I had while we were working on the application. I have also received comprehensive information about the end to end process on how self build mortgages work and steps involved in the process. This has been a long protracted process but all down to the various problems that have arisen at my end. Each person I have dealt with in Buildstore (and the associated parts of this company) have been so professional, massively helpful, very knowledgable and unbelievably patient ! I cannot praise the individuals I have dealt with enough and would happily recommend this company.
