Abandoned our project incomplete â avoid
Avoid at all costs.
We engaged Build Safe Homes Ltd for a full extension and renovation of our home in Woodford Green. The director, Sergiy Stepanov, abandoned the project with significant works incomplete - including the hallway, downstairs toilet, drainage, and patio. He remains contactable but simply ignores every request and does nothing to resolve the outstanding issues.
The quality of completed work was poor throughout: a defective skylight that had to be reinstalled, faulty bifold doors, wall finishes so uneven that the flaws are clearly visible under the very LED lighting his team installed, and engineered wood flooring that was damaged during installation and poorly fitted, with visible gaps left between the floor and skirting boards. We now have to engage replacement builders at our own cost to remediate and finish the project.
Throughout the project, Mr Stepanov repeatedly made commitments he did not keep. His own builders told us their payments were being delayed, and it showed â the crew were visibly unmotivated and the workmanship suffered as a result. We believe money we paid for our project was being used to cover his other sites.
The company subsequently attempted a voluntary strike-off at Companies House while owing us as creditors, changing its registered address on the same day the application was filed. Our formal objection was accepted and the strike-off is suspended.
Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this company.
