A very complete and covering all aspects of testing, explaining the options available. The audiologist was very clear with the information and ensured I tested the hearing aids before any decision was made. Involved my partner in all aspects of the appointment.

I felt I was in the hands of a very competent and skilled audiologist who carried our her work professionally and with a great deal of kindness and understanding.

No aftercare, not good enough!

I originally used Boots hearing care as I thought a company like Boots would be a safe place to get treatment for my hearing difficulties, the primary appointments were great up until I purchased a £1800 hearing aid but I have had nothing but trouble with the after care after that purchase. I want an appointment to make sure my hearing and hearing aid are not regressing, my hearing aid had malfunctioned which was fixed after I had to chase a review, I have complained about my appointments being cancelled and now after an email to book a hearing care appointment I can’t log into my account even thought it says I have valid accounts for both emails but when I ask for a password reset I’m asked to register for a new account which I can’t because my emails are already associated to accounts. Not good enough I know this may be an isolated problem just for me and reviews are great for Boots but this doesn’t help me, I would appreciate a hearing care appointment as I believe both my hearing and hearing aid are deteriorating and would like advice or assistance. I have already had a apology from Boots for the numerous appointments I had cancelled by Boots but this has not improved my customer care which is not good enough. Can this please be sorted out as I know the warranty on my hearing aid is running out and I will soon have to pay for any repairs due to no fault of my own.

After sale care matters.

I was diagnosed with Ménière’s disease several years ago I had an operation to help with the vertigo attacks but in the process it damaged my hearing, I was supplied with a NHS hearing aid but I wanted to improve the quality of the hearing aid I was using. I chose Boots to buy a very expensive hearing aid from, I thought with the brand history and great finance offer they would be the people to use but no it’s not the case. I used the Harlow branch of Boots and the initial appointment and purchase were good but the after sales has been awful, I like to know that my hearing aid is working to it’s full potential as people with hearing problems will know it is sometimes embarrassing and frustrating when you can’t follow conversations or actually can’t hear people speaking to you, so follow up appointments are important. I have had virtually every appointment I have had booked cancelled and most at the last minute due mostly to the lack of audiologists apparently, but for me it just isn’t good enough. I paid a lot of money for my hearing aid and I still suffer from the effects of poor hearing so after sales service should always matter but it doesn’t seem so with Boots, ok the actual people are great, customer services are polite and helpful, the shop assistants and audiologists are understanding and helpful so I can’t complain about that but there is a problem somewhere having appointments cancelled every time even though I have managed my work around them is not good enough. In hindsight I would have used another supplier if I had known how my customer care would have been after the initial purchase but it’s too late now, I know I’ll get a reply asking me to get in touch but this has been the case all along “please get in touch to rearrange your appointment and sorry for the inconvenience” but I won’t believe this until it actually happens….sorry I hate bad reviews but this was deserved.

Tremendous treatment.

Boots Hearingcare in Romsey made every effort to find a re-scheduled appointment in half an hour and then I was dealt with clear, courteous, professional care by Somia, who re-tested my hearing and then advised me on the appropriate hearing aids.
