When I was not able to take calls, the consultant sent me an email with the insurance policy details when I was able to phone back and I left a message, I received a prompt call back.
The policy was very good cover and very competitive.

After 7 years of 60 a month premiums this month 230!. No communication from them. Not happy and will be taking this up with the insurance ombudsman as they have basically got you. After all these years and when you may need it they do you over. I will be cancelling and feel robbed like many. Do not use this company.

Or consent and breached GDPR and sent a letter with all my information on to an incorrect address. Customer service don’t care and they’re exploiting the fact no insurers are currently offering income protection so they think they can get away with doubling premiums you should be ashamed! I hope you go under and never sell another policy ever again. Anyone with any sense CANCEL your policy before they Rob you

Bad services, no communications, after 1 year they doubled my premium without my knowledge or signature, and they offering nothing for the money. Is an rubbish low level scam!!!!!

DO Not use this company;doubled premium last year after having policy for several years and they are now doubling it again . Will cancel my policy

Horrendous company, no moral compass

Absolutely disgusted to receive a letter today advising that my policy premiums are being hiked up to an unaffordable amount after being a loyal customer for a number of years. I am now forced into an extremely vulnerable position which could potentially ruin my future if the worst does happen and I am no longer covered. I will be writing to the ombudsman and seeking legal advice, this is appalling all the wasted premiums paid for absolutely nothing. Many sleepless nights ahead!

Like so many that have already commented on Best Insurance income protection policy premium increases, I received an email in July varying the conditions of the my original insurance policy. Anniversary reviews have been removed to allow them to increase my premium from £60pm, £80pm then £149pm in the space of 6 months. Is this actually allowed? What's worrying is if I keep paying the increases what will it be in 6 months, £250pm. Really poor unethical behaviour and needs regulatory action as it feels very much like mis-selling, Appalling company!

Profiteering during a Pandemic!

I renewed my policy with Best Insurance in November 2020 at a price of £53 a month. During December they notified me it would increase to £66. They have written to me this week and stated the policy will now increase to £124 a month. This is unaffordable and I’ve had to cancel the policy which leaves me in a very vulnerable position.

Insurers are currently not taking on new income protection customers, which Best Insurance know, and this price increase is nothing but an attempt to exploit existing customers.

Complaint logged with the Ombudsman and I have notified the FCA (the regulator of Best Insurance)of these unfair practices.

Premium went from £48 in September 2019 to £65 in September 2020. Just had another letter saying its gone up to £114!!!!

Exploiting their customers knowing they won't cancel policy in this climate.

I have has income protection policy with Best insurance for 3years
In the past 9months my payments went from
£33 to £55 and now increased to £99.
Lodge a complaint and they was about as helpful as a chocolate fireguard.
Now going direct to lloyds before financial obesumum.

Well. I signed up a year ago pre-pandemic, protecting my income from roughly £50 a month. After 6 months they raised it to £75 and 6months later to £145 meaning an increase of 300% within a year.
I would say go somewhere else if you have the option. They are thieves

Good initially for redundancy/sickness policy etc - had for over 2 years then hit me with a "5th off cover value" 6 months ago with a "but we are dropping the premiums", then upped the premium back to original 3 months ago then had a "need to increase due to market conditions blah blah blah" this month - with a 95% increase of premium !!!! 95% - nice try guys - cancelled the next day by me and hope they go the same way as the policy .... they are just having a laugh.

Terrible terrible company, second increase in premiums in the last 5 months, going from £39 to £96!
I took my policy out 4 years ago, now when the going gets tough this company just take advantage of their customers at vulnerable times! Very untrustworthy company
Avoid at all costs!

I am only giving a one star as this is the lowest one to choose. Outrageous premiums. I have had unemployment cover for three years and in the last four months the premiums have increased twice. I was originally paying £40 per month and now they have increased the premiums to £143.00 per month. This is robbery and when I rang to query I was on hold for over 45 minutes and they never answered. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

Took out income protection insurance a year ago (before the pandemic) for £27 per month. Arrived home today to find my insurance renewal letter, telling me my monthly payments are going to increase to £57! More than double what I was paying before. They’re taking advantage of people who are terrified of losing their jobs during these uncertain times and feel like they have no choice but to pay. Avoid like the plague, vile company
