John, at Bensons for beds Sutton, was invaluable for us when we were buying a bed. Recommended great mattresses based on our sleeping style and budget, worked out a great price which meant we were happy to push a budget a bit further but get a great mattress!
He also really helped me with getting the mattress from the store to my can to get it home.

I bought the Hypnos Inspired by Nature 02 from my local Bensons for Beds showroom three weeks ago. The staff there were great: very helpful, patient with all my questions and clearly knowledgeable. I have no complaints about the service I received in store.

I chose this mattress because it was made from natural materials and because of Hypnos's reputation for quality and comfort. With a retail price of £2,299, I expected something that felt and looked genuinely premium.

Unfortunately, that hasn't been my experience.

When the mattress arrived, I was immediately underwhelmed by the finish. The beading around the edge was uneven, the label was stitched on crookedly, and overall it just didn't look like a mattress costing over £2,000. I know these things don't necessarily affect how well you sleep, but at this price I'd expect better attention to detail.

After just three weeks, I'm also disappointed with how the mattress itself is holding up. I find the tufts incredibly uncomfortable, and the sides started to lose their shape after only a week. There's now a drop of around 1.5 cm along the sides, despite the fact that I don't sit on the edge of the bed. I've also noticed that the outer fabric is already loose enough to pinch into folds where it appears to have separated from the filling.

I appreciate that natural fillings settle over time, but I'm struggling to understand how these changes can be considered acceptable after such a short period of use.

After the first week, I visited a larger Bensons showroom and mentioned to a member of staff that the sides of their display Hypnos mattresses appeared to have collapsed. I was told that this would happen after a couple of months. I found that quite concerning, particularly given what I was already noticing with my own mattress.

The biggest issue for me is that the mattress simply doesn't feel luxurious. Between the uncomfortable tufts, the changes in the sides and the overall finish, it hasn't lived up to what I expected from either Hypnos or a mattress at this price. I honestly feel sick when I think about how much I spent compared with what I've ended up with.

I want to be clear that the staff at my local Bensons were excellent, and I appreciate the time they took to help me choose a mattress. Bensons also has a good range of products for different budgets and needs. But my experience with this particular mattress has been a huge disappointment, and I don't feel it represents good value for money.

As soon as entering the store in Sutton High Street, we were made to feel welcome, without feeling under pressure to make any decisions. We spoke with, Anil, who was very knowledgable and went through each product for us, in detail. The purchase stage was easy and we left with all necessary information, with a suitable delivery date booked in. I will certainly return to this particular store to see Anil, who was friendly and helpful throughout.

The delivery guys didn’t want to go up to the 3 floor, they said we only deliver up to the second if it doesn’t fit the lift. I wasn’t made aware of this before when I bought the bed.

Buying a new bed was easy, stress-free and fast thanks to Anil at Bensons' store in Sutton, London. He was knowledgeable, experienced and super-friendly; he didn't pressure us but gave us solid advice. Getting face-to-face help in store when making an important purchase made all the difference. My son couldn't be happier with his new Hip Hop Wooden bedframe - definitely the right choice for someone who is tall and needs room at the end of his bed for his feet!

We bought a mattress from Bensons about two years ago and we were very pleased with the service we got and the service from the delivery staff as well . On Saturday we decided to buy a new bed frame when we went into the store and the same gentleman Anil was there we were please as he remembered us. He talked us through all the different bed frames and headboards. It was just like talking to an old friend. We found him polite, friendly and very helpful.

Anil listened attentively to our requirements and suggested products that exactly met them. He clearly explained the delivery options so that we could easily identify the one that was right for us. He was friendly and knowledgeable without being pushy. It was nice to be on the receiving end of such good customer service.
