when we went back to purchase there was another sales person, who gave us a different quote which was £60 more. i have purchased the bed as my wife liked

Made a purchase at your Peterborough store on 01/05/2021, which consisted of a bed frame and other products to the value of £3082.73. This included a Bedguard 5-year insurance policy for stains and accidental damage, priced at £175. My wife and I are deeply disappointed by the issues we have encountered with our purchase and the insurance policy.

The bed frame, which we acquired on the aforementioned date, has experienced significant damage to the screws and metal plates located at the four corners of the bed frame. It has come to our attention that some of the screws, which secure the metal plates, have become bent. Despite our best efforts to address this issue through manual screwing and even the use of an electric drill, these screws remain immovable. Consequently, the bed is no longer secure and exhibits instability, despite the Allen screws being fully tightened.

To address the situation, I attempted to make a claim on the insurance policy we purchased, only to receive a response indicating that our claim did not meet the policy's terms and conditions. Upon a thorough review of the policy's fine print, I noted a multitude of exclusions that, in my opinion, make it practically impossible to successfully claim for accidental damage. Section 3 - Exclusions of the policy explicitly lists various scenarios where coverage will not be provided, including damage caused by wear and tear, mishandling, and even damage by any natural disaster. The exhaustive nature of these exclusions leads me to believe that we were misled and misinformed at the time of purchase.

During a recent telephone conversation with a representative from the Peterborough store, I expressed my concerns about the insurance policy being mis-sold to us. The representative provided two examples of scenarios that he believed the policy would cover, such as paint spills or damage caused by a dog chewing through the bed. However, I disagree with these examples as they can be easily argued to fall within the policy's exclusions. Furthermore, the guarantee offered by Benson For Beds for the bed frame is also unclear and unconvincing.

We were informed that our current bed type is out of stock, compounding our dissatisfaction with the situation. We feel that we have been subjected to a substandard experience, having been sold an insurance policy that seems to offer no real protection, and having faced significant hurdles in our attempts to address this issue.

We are now escalating this complaint to the relevant authorities, including trading standards, Financial Ombudsman Service and Advertising Standards Agency to ensure our rights as consumers are upheld.

We even attempted to make a claim using the supposed 5 year bed frame guarantee but Bensons have refused to do anything about it.

I even sent a message to the CEO and he’s not responded either. Absolute joke of a company and over £3,000 down the drain.

Never again.

We visited the store on Sat 4th looking for a new bed and mattress, on finding one we liked a helpful employee call David gave us all the information we needed. Due to having a space issue we had to come home and measure, he advised us we could ring the order through and place the order which we did.

Very good service. Knowledgeable, friendly staff. They took the time to find out what we were looking for rather than selling the first thing we came across.

We ordered a kind size bed and mattress. Firstly they failed to deliver on the date arranged and also failed to inform us that they weren't delivering. I had to contact customer services to discover that. Then on the rescheduled delivery (1352 - 1552hrs) I contacted customer services at 1600 to find out where the team were, only to be told that they had arrived at 1015 that morning, called twice and knocked on my door but couldn't get a response. I was at home ALL DAY. At 1630hrs i received a call from the delivery team who informed me they were just leaving Colchester and would be with me by 1830hrs if that was suitable,
obviously I agreed but did ask if they had tried to deliver earlier that morning - Answer no as i was the last delivery! Anyway, delivery arrived and bed assembled, but the mattress which was sealed in plastic was dirty and stained! One of the team pointed this out and apologised and re-ordered a new mattress. Replacement mattress was due to be delivered on 12 Oct, which it was. The team asked how the original mattress was delivered up the stairs to the bedroom and told them that it had to folded to gain access. I was then told that the mattress can not be folded as there is a metal frame support within this particular mattress and if folded can be broken. I now have a stained, dirty broken mattress!! I have spoken with Customer Services on 6 occasions with little or no joy, I am still waiting for £75 to be credited to my account for the failed delivery (initial) back on the 18 Sep. I have even tried contacting Mr Nicholas Collard who is listed as the CEO to explain my dissatisfaction, but no-one answers the phone at his office at the 3rd Floor, Globe Centre, 1St James Square Accrington, Lancs. So left with few options (Trading Standards, FSA and Ombudsman). Dont buy from Bedsons.

We knew what we needed a replacement a twin zip linked super king mattress the assistant greeted us as we walked in quickly and efficiently showed us the available options and invited us to try various levels of firmness.we them went through a careful process of placing an order,arranged delivery including recycling our old mattress

Excellent service made even better with the friendly and very helpful staff member in Peterborough brotherhoods. I can’t remember his name but he went above and beyond.

When I visited the store, on a Thursday morning, there were only two salesmen, one a young trainee and an older gentleman who admitted he is hard of hearing. The trainee was very friendly and tried to be helpful but could not explain to me what the red dots on the machine screen made. He called to the older gentleman to ask if he was busy and he replied firmly "Yes!", even though he was just sat at the desk! As we were alone in the store and he wasn't far away I then jokingly called his name too and "help!" but he totally ignored me despite repeating myself several times.
I then went over to his desk and he seemingly unwillingly got up and showed me a couple of beds but I had to ask questions about them, he didn't volunteer information.
I was not impressed with the customer service I received at all!

Visited the Peterborough store looking for a divan that could be delivered by a specific date. The salesman was extremely helpful in finding out what was held in stock and could be delivered by the date requested. Excellent customer service

Personal, undivided and professional attention from Sarah. A lovely store with numerous choice of beds. I went there particularly because they had an electronic device which calculated the pressure points of the body, and advised what firmness of bed was required for the individual. I never thought I'd ever need a firm bed, but that is what I bought!!
