I placed an order in September 2024

I placed an order in September 2024, and returned in 3 weeks because of the poor fit (order no. 24294055)
It is now February 2025, I still haven’t received my refund!! 20+ calls and a bunch of lies later, I’m beyond frustrated. They’ve promised me a refund in check, store credit and Mastercard format…nothing has shown up yet. What a scam this company is!
Update: Just filed with BBB, and tomorrow, I plan to go to my local precinct and file a complaint as well.

Bare Necessities has my returned merchandise and my money after almost 3 months

*UPDATE 2/27/25 - I did finally receive a refund check and it has cleared the bank.

*UPDATE 1/17/25 - Bare Necessities reached out to me today and indicated they could and would issue me a refund check by mail but that it would take 4-6 weeks for me to receive the check. I will provide an update if and when I receive the check.

Bare Necessities is a retail store selling women's undergarments, swimwear, sleep wear, etc. I made an online purchase of swimwear. The swimwear did not fit so I started an online return for a refund back to my original payment method which was on my American Express credit card. I shipped the merchandise back to Bare Necessities according to the online instructions. Bare Necessities acknowledged receipt of the returned merchandise via email dated 10/22/24 which indicated they received my return, that it was now at their store, and that they would process it and send me my refund. The email states that they will refund me immediately after they process the return and that it takes up to 10 business days for my financial institution to post it to my account. Today is 1/16/25 and I still have not received my refund. I initially, back in the fall of 2024, submitted an online inquiry regarding the status of my refund and did not receive a response. I then called the Bare Necessities customer service number (877-728-9272) some time I believe in late October or early November, 2024, at which time I was advised that they were having some sort of IT issue and were trying to get it fixed and that they could not tell me when it would be fixed so that they could process my refund. They recommended I call back the following week to follow-up. I then performed a Google search on the company and reviews and saw that many others also had returned their merchandise and had not received their refund or were having other issues. I then called American Express to see if I could dispute payment but, unfortunately, I was already past the 30 day window where American Express could assist. I contacted Bare Necessities customer service number (877-728-9272) again on 1/7/25 and spoke with "Asari" and she told me the technical issue still was not fixed where they could refund my original payment method (American Express) but that she could offer me a store credit or an online/virtual Mastercard. I asked if they could issue my refund by check and I was told no which is interesting since I see in another review on this site that someone did eventually receive their refund via check. I further inquired about the online/virtual Mastercard and was told that is something I could receive immediately. But after further discussion Asari said she only had authority to immediately issue a store credit and that if I wanted the online/virtual Mastercard or to see about other refund options she would have to escalate the call to someone else. I asked her to escalate the call and she told me she would escalate it and have someone call me. It has now been 9 days since that call and I have yet to receive a call back about my refund options other than a store credit which I do not want. So Bare Necessities has their merchandise back and also still has my payment for that merchandise going on almost 3 months now.

Add me to the long and growing list of people who have had their money stolen by this company. My returns (an aside: I had no choice but to return the items that didn't fit because they no longer allow exchanges, which is a baffling and hostile policy) were confirmed received by BN a month ago; returns confirmation email clearly states my refund will be issued within 10 business days. I messaged after 3 weeks and was told by customer service rep "Jada" it hadn't been long enough (it had - we were at 12 business days out at that point), and that I should wait until January 6. No surprise: it's January 6 and I still have no refund. Service rep "Jada" told me outright in their last email that I'd have better luck contacting my credit card company to file a dispute, so that's what I'm doing. I've shopped BN exclusively for well over a decade, but never again. Heed all these negative reviews saying the same thing! Avoid this company at all costs; they're straight-up thieves now.

Do not trust this company

Note: Despite the companies response below, I still have NOT received my refund I will update my comment once I have received my deserved refund, that is again, over 3 months late.

Do not trust this company. I place an order for just under $300 worth of items in September. The items did not fit, so I returned the items within the 30-day window and confirmed that their warehouse had indeed received the items. As of today, January 6th, 2025, I am still battling to get my refund money returned to me. Buyer beware!

Save yourself the headache, I will never buy from this company…

I will never buy from this company again. They may have some good products and operators, but their policies and customer service are terrible. They sent me the wrong items and won't even let me exchange them so I can get the correct size! I reached out to customer service before the 30-day window closed to tell them they sent the wrong things but they didn't respond. When I contacted them again, they said the 30-window had closed (it is literally not even 2 days over, and includes the holidays). I only want to get the right items, but they won't allow an EXCHANGE when they were the ones who sent me the wrong size?? I contacted them before the window closed but they never wrote me back but now claim that they did, and that I did not confirm that I had the wrong item. I had already told them this in my original request for an exchange, why would they need confirmation again?

What kind of business wants to stick it to you by forcing you to keep items that don't fit, not fulfilling your order, and then lying about contacting you and refusing to fill your order? One that doesn't deserve my business or yours.

NO REFUND

I have ordered from this company many times in the past, but I ordered in September and my return was received September 30. I am unable to receive my refund!!! I have been in contact with them at least 10 times! I sent the last 2 emails to someone up the line named Ajit and got no response at all!
DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!!!!

Update: I did eventually receive a check for my refund. Thank goodness!

Refund from October

At the end of September, I ordered three items (two of which were the same bodysuit in different sizes). Upon receiving the package, I tried on the bodysuits and noticed that one was missing its tags and the additional bra straps. I immediately called your company to report the issue.

I returned two items, which you received on 10/15/2024. However, it took a month to process a refund for just one of the returned items. As of today, December 9th, I still have not been refunded for the second bodysuit I returned. I’ve called nearly a dozen times, the amount of time I have wasted calling your "customer service" sitting on hold with no resolution is unacceptable.

This has been, without a doubt, the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had, and will NEVER order from this company again.

More than 2 months they have my return…

More than 2 months they have my return and my money. I got several emails with the script about new system and how they do returns manually. Bla-bla-bla. Nothing happens. I do not recommend this company.

Update:
I received email from their customer service, where there were 3 options. I picked option 1 “ Refund as a Bare Necessities Gift Card in the amount of their refund.

When they choose this option, please email them the $50 discount code below that has no exclusions towards their next purchase.”.
And - nobody answered me.

Then I received new email from new person “ we have two options available for you:
A virtual MasterCard refund, which you can use anywhere MasterCard is accepted.
A Bare Necessities gift card that can be used on any future purchases.
As a token of our appreciation for your understanding, we will include a $30 coupon for use on your next order in your refund email, based on the option you choose from the ones listed above.”
I wrote them back with the question what’s happening. And nobody answered me again.
Then I received third email with “ We recently reached out to you through two phone calls and an email regarding the refund for your order BN24311440, totaling $37.88. Unfortunately, we have not yet received a response.”
But NOBODY CALLED ME and NO OTHER EMAILS. And moreover - the refund is just a half of my order. I wrote them back. And again - nobody answered. It looks like the company is trying to steal my money.

Do not buy these bras,they are much smaller than your size. I will send you factory rejects. I have always been a 36DD, they sent ones labeled 36DD but are more like a 32C !!!!!! When you reach out to them they are not helpful. Overpriced factory rejects.

Shady refund practices

I ordered a bra at the beginning of September….and promptly returned because it didn’t fit. I waited a couple weeks but my money was not returned. I called 3 times about my refund. Each time I was given the same line…they were updating their systems and were going to escalate my return request. The last time I called, I told them that I believed they were hoping that I either got tired of calling about the refund or I forgot about it all together. I told the representative that I didn’t believe anything she was saying and that I was going to call the police and my credit card company because they were trying to steal from me….miraculously, whatever the issue had been from Sept. to November which kept them from refunding my money fixed itself in a matter of minutes….by the time I got off the phone with Bare Necessities, the refund was pending on my credit card.

Sent merchandise back for a refund 1 1/2 months ago and still have not received refund to my CC. I have sent 2 messages on their actual site explaining the situation and have not heard anything back at all. I would expect to have heard something back after using their own link from their site, but still waiting a month later.
