I posted a question and I got one lawyer who responded. This lawyer was rude, unprofessional and started making fun of me and my situation. He never even actually answered my question it was nothing but tirade after tirade from him. I corrected him and put him in his place. He was so humiliated that he made a false claim of trolling to the sight to have my questions taken down. Well the question is back up and I humiliated someone with a law decree. If you need a question answered I would go somewhere else.

Avvo is a SCAM. A while ago, I posted a neg. review about an attorney who didn't do his job, and Avvo removed it.
Now, i am trying to post a review about an attorney who scammed me good - Avvo refuses to p[ost it stating it's my second, duplicate review - which is a lie, yesterday was the first time ever I submitted a review for him. That attorney called me yesterday and threatened me with a "defamation suit" and said he will post that I am mentally sick.
Out of more than a dozen attorneys only two (partners) are good people. Others scammed me and threatened me.
The whole corrupt system needs to be taken down and re-built. Including Avvo

scam site. intentionally kept denying my review simply because they want to protect the individuals listed on their site rather than post honest reviews

do not believe the reviews on avvo. they only approve ones that are positive which means you never know the truth.

You can not trust lawyer ratings! Avvo deletes negative reviews for lawyers because the lawyers pay for this service. Very dishonest. Look at the lawyers’ real ratings on any & all other websites but Avvo can not be trusted. Learning this lesson cost me at least a hundred thousand dollars. My “5 star rated lawyer” on Avvo was absolutely incompetent. Should have fired her. After my disastrous experience, my negative review was removed 3 times by Avvo! Watched Avvo remove other people’s negative reviews as well. Avvo is not even trying to provide true experiences of clients with the lawyers they hire. Do not waste your time and end up paying a very high price. Found plenty of other people with an awful experience with this lawyer but all hidden by Avvo but available elsewhere. Massive regret.

AVVO is not to be trusted and is a total waste of time. I asked a question about a trademark, and ended up with lawyers questioning my product authenticity. Who asked you about that? All I wanted to confirm if my First Amendment Rights are violated, and got this in return! Yes it is authentic. AVVO is useless, you'll get far better results with Google search. I do not recommend AVVO to anyone, and will not set my foot on their site anymore. Stay away from AVVO!

0/5 if possible. Allows abusive and threatening comments with no safety protocol. No fact checking that the poster is an actual client. Makes attorneys who are not members PAY MONEY to even respond to their reviews. A method to bilk money from attorneys, plain and simple. Impossible to reach customer service or any resolution.

I left a negative review of a smarmy garbage attorney who lied and stole from me, Drew Daddono of Tampa, FL, and apparently he had it erased.

Don't waste your time asking questions because they remove them. I asked a question, honestly based off of a court show for personal information, which was removed. To have a question removed after spending a lot of time properly articulating it was clearly a waste of my time

Wow… talk about lack of good legal services in America… well anyways seems like lawyers don’t care about these reviews… and the people who own the platform? What are they doing to make this platform better? Probably nothing… anyways, a lawyer referred me to Avvo… failure to find a business litigator on here… especially on contingency… litigation lawyers wants to charge you an arm & a leg before even doing anything with it and then what’s the chance of them actually doing what needs to be done ? Who knows since lawyers can be shady. Anyways i really don’t know what the law schools are even teaching these law students nowadays.. 👎

Don't use Avvo! I tried to post a legitimate NEGATIVE review about an incompetent attorney who cost me over $8000 and they wouldn't allow it. I even have a current case with the IARDC with proof docs. I even changed the review 3 times and riddled it down to ONE sentence and they still wouldn't let it fly. Literally "Don't use this Lawfirm they are incompetent" . But then I found out Avvo offers paid review accounts to attorneys and they are also ran by 'attorneys'. So obviously, all the reviews you are seeing on Avvo there are all FAKE! Especially the ones for my former attorney which I will be posting a review for, here, as well.

Garbage website AI Attorneys do not even respond to you for the exact service they offer. I contacted 4 attorneys none of them respond the website doesn’t respond either fake reviews.

Avvo has denied/rejected every Negative review i've written, citing "Contained language not appropriate for a public, professional forum". I have kept documentation regarding Avvo's claims, and screenshots, etc., and clearly they are utilizing a broad/open "claim" to reject negative reviews. Why? Because Lawyers, and those being reviewed, are their desired "customers," etc. Avvo is owned by, or at least co-operated with, Martindale-Avvo (it's right there, in the name), who ALSO is targeting attorneys as perspective clients/users, & is also another fake "review" site. I'm currently re-submitting my reviews, and taking screenshots, researching, regarding Avvo, and their false assertions of "language" which are obviously Untrue. I'd love to provide some Reddit links: 1 has comment regarding the poster's understanding that Avvo wants attorneys to pay to become subscribers, and often will remove negative reviews, to clean-up a lawyer's profile, which makes sense with their motive; one explains that Avvo is Martindale-Avvo, but I can't give links here. Do NOT rely on Avvo, or most sites, they ALL have reason, motive, and intention, to "protect" those whom they desire to have business with, make money from, or at least utilize in some way. Due to character limits, and censoring Negative Reviews at most "review" sites, I made a video regarding Evan Taylor, the attorney i'm trying to warn people about - Evan Taylor (Owensboro, KY "Attorney") My Review ; Unfortunately, most sites will hide, or remove, or deny ANY Negative reviews, because it is in their best interest, and motive, to do so.

Avvo removes some/all negative reviews it receives of lawyers. It says it removes it for violating it's terms / guidelines, but even if the review is worded such that it can in no way be seen to violate the terms / guidelines, they will still remove it if it is negative. It leaves them up for a short while, but if you look at any lawyer, 90+% of the reviews are positive. The few 1 star reviews will eventually get deleted. I don't how avvo makes money, but my guess is there is a big incentive for them to keep negative reviews to a minimum. I wrote a bad review of an attorney and after a few months it got removed - I edited it like 5 times, to the point it was basically just 1 vague sentence and a 1 star rating. Even that got taken down! Avvo basically tricks the public while helping lawyers commit malpractice. I would love to see a class action suit where they are forced to reveal all the reviews they have taken down.

I needed to discuss a situation involving protecting my 91y.o. mother who suffers from Dementia. The lawyer uses avvo marketing services. Long story short on the lawyer,,, she basically called me a liar, told me I should just let her apartment complex allow their employees to break their own rules and local, state, & federal laws. I write a review & used a word the lawyer used,,, she said I should just put up with the dog S_ _ T! AVVO REJECTED BECAUSE THE "S" WORD. I CHANGE IT TO POOP. AVVO REJECTS IT NOW BECAUSE I DID NOT ACTUALLY HIRE THE LAWYER,,, AVVO ASKS WHEN LEAVING A REVIEW "WAS THIS A CONSULTATION OR DID I HIRE THE LAWYER... I STATED CONSULTATION. LAST YEAR I CONTACTED A LAWYER THAT SAID RESPONDS TO CALLS BUT BEST TO EMAILS IN 24 HOURS. I CALL A COUPLE OF TIMES NEVER HEARD FROM HIM. I SEND AN EMAIL AND GOT A GENERIC REPLY ABOUT THEY RECEIVED MY EMAIL,,, NEVER HEARD BACK, SEND ANOTHER EMAIL,,, STILL NEVER CONTACTED ME SO I LEFT NEGATIVE REVIEW AND AVVO POSTED IT. 1ST THING I SAID IN THAT REVIEW WAS "I CAN'T REVIEW THE LAWYER DIRECTLY BECAUSE HE NEVER RETURNED ANY CALLS OR MESSAGES EXCEPT THE ONE SAYING THEY RECEIVED MY EMAIL AND WILL GET BACK WITH ME. AVVO REJECTED THIS CURRENT REVIEW A 3RD TIME STATING I MADE COMMENTS ABOUT THE LAWYER BEING UNETHICAL,,, NOT EVEN SURE WHAT PART OF THE REVIEW POINTED OUT WHATEVER MAY BE UNETHICAL, BUT,,, WHEN YOU CONTACT A LAWYER TO GET ASSISTANCE PROTECTING YOUR 91Y.O. AVVO IS A MARKETING COMPANY FOR LAWYERS. LAWYERS PAY THEM MONEY TO BE LISTED ON AVVO'S SITE. AND AVVO WILL DO WHATEVER OR SAY WHATEVER TO ELIMINATE AS MANY NEGATIVE REVIEWS AS POSSIBLE...AVVO IS "F" RATED WITH THE BBB. HERE ON TRUSTPILOT THEY HAVE LESS THAN 2 STARS WHICH IN ITSELF IS MISLEADING...BECAUSE YOU CAN NOT LEAVE "0" STARS. SO IF EVERYONE GAVE THEM A "1" STAR RATING/REVIEW... IT WOULD LOOK AS IF THEY WERE 20% OK WHEN REALISTICALLY THEY WOULD BE "0%".

The attorney assigned to my case simply identified himself as "David Lawyer". I had questions about specific code sections that might apply to my situation. The response I got repeatedly was so generic it might have been produced by AI rather than a real attorney. "You have nothing to fear since you have done nothing wrong."

AVVO is nothing more than a site who only wants Happy Reviews on lawyers. I had a terrible experience with the Platte River Injury Law Firm. I wasted 9 full months with this company, who was supposed to sue a negligent Wyoming neurologist. They pretended to be very interested in my case. In the end, they did nothing and it cost me alot of money to try to get well. I wrote up a negative review, and 2 times AVVO rejected the review. I guess they are running a lawyer protection website and does not want to hear anything bad about a law firm. Don't waste your time on AVVO if you have anything negative to say about any attorney.

Really disappointed with this website. I asked an immigration question.. 2 “attorneys” replied and they were so patronising and rude. When I pointed out to one how rude they were (one of them had made some incorrect assumptions- sadly avvo only gives you a certain amount of characters to write), they deleted my question. When I googled the attorneys, neither had a website, and one had gone to a really dubious college. Not recommended

I have a simple request for representation, an easy winnable case. I tried several attorneys on their website not one has reached back out to me. Just as bad as all other rude pointless webservices.
