Please please don’t use this garage!! Now called Drive Time as they obviously changed their name after so many bad reviews. The reviews on the new site are obviously fake.
I bought a Ford SMax from them back in July 2024 and everything seemed fine on the test drive. On the way home the engine warning light came on. Contacted George Brett and he said it’s now the warranty problem they will sort it. Warranty Wise are not worth the paper it’s written on. The vehicle was checked by Ford Main dealership and said it needed a new transmission at a cost of £5000 . After 4 months of back and forth delay tactics George said ASR a gearbox would be ok to carry out the repair. He refused to pay for the repair and we had to pay it ourselves to get the car back. All along he was so unhelpful, lying, abusive and threatening. I went to try and collect the payment at Christmas but he smelt of alcohol and became abusive and I feared for my safety . He gave false promises and I left and nothing was forthcoming.
I reported him to Autotrader and Billericay Small Businesses Department at their council and this is probably why he has changed the name.
Please, please don’t purchase a car from here you are asking for a load of problems.

If they told the truth and did what they said they were going to do it would have been better.
I would never recommend them to anyone

Awful customer service. Put a deposit down on a car but under the assurance that the car would have a few noticeable chips covered but made it very clear I did not want it looking like tipex had been used to cover them up. On collecting the car guess what it looked exactly like a four year old was let loose with a tipex pen. Not only that but it had a crack in the windscreen. I was assured that this would all be rectified and George even agreed the job done was awful and the car should not be sold with a cracked windscreen. Being gullible I trusted that the faults would be rectified within a week. After two weeks I heard nothing so called to chase. I was told that he had forgotten but would sort it out immediately. Another two weeks passed, nothing. So I sent a message chasing. The message was left unread for 3 weeks. So I sent another message. The reply I got was he had missed the message because it was out of working hours and then said that the screen of the car was never cracked in the first place. So I have the car with no work carried out so I have to pay out more money to rectify these problems. I have not heard back from them since I have been ignored. Funny how they got back to me immediately when I was buying the car (even out of working hours). Completely disappointed and my only advise would be to buy elsewhere.

What an absolute shambles of a company. A family member bought a car, not fit for purpose. They’ve taken it back, but, so far have refused to refund. Even though they had it back months. Family member is unable to buy another car until they do. They’re full of empty promises.

UPDATE:
As expected I do now have issues with the car. Wish I avoided, absolute con. Disgrace of a Company! Of course they are not a member of the Motor Ombudsman. Has anyone had any success in claiming against them?
I wish I read the reviews first, I would have taken more time in my purchase. Am really apprehensive about the purchase of my car now.
All I can go on is what I’ve experienced so far isn’t the best in terms of service. Still waiting for documentation, the car was meant to be valeted and it wreaks like an ashtray, it’s really dirty actually.
I’m dreading anything going wrong with the car now.
Edit: after several times of asking I still have not received the cars service history. They are now ignoring me and not responding. Am now taking the complaint further. Thankfully no obvious issues with the car apart from the ashtray stench but I’ve only had for a couple of weeks.

I found these fantastic… really nice people. Even picked me up from station 👍🏻

These people are conmen, liars and fraudsters please be warned! I bought a car from them which has nothing but problems. It makes me sick to my stomach that they are still getting away with doing this to people.

Auto Trader is full of fake reviews which they verify and all the truthful bad reviews they mark as unverified - hence the fake rating on Auto Trader.

Bought a car from them, no log book, taken it to a third party garage and it has a huge list of problems with the car, its totally unsafe to drive.

Whatever you do, please do not buy a car from here! Without a doubt the worst mistake I have ever made. The attitude from George was disgusting just couldn't have cared less, not replying to me or giving me a refund so now I am left with an unsafe car which is going to cost me thousands to fix..

Really helpful in finding a car for my partner. They gave me a fair price for my part exchange better than we buy any car, only down side is it took us 5 mins to find the place.

I PUCHASED A CAR FROM THIS TRADER FOR £18,999 PLUS DELIVERY, ON THE 22/12/2023. THE CAR IS A BENTLEY CONTINENTAL WITHIN DAYS I HAD THE FIRST BREAKDOWN THE POWER STEERING WAS LEAKING , SAS GARAGE IN GRANTHAM HELPED ME OUT. THEY NOTICED A FEW PROBLEMS WHEN THEY HAD IT ON THE RAMPS. PLAY TO BOTH FRONT WHEELS BUSHES GONE, EXHAUST BOLTS ARE SHEARED, MISSING, TRIM HELD ON BY GLUE. WATER IMPREGNATION TO WING MIRROR , DUE TO HOLE IN SURROUNDING, GEAR SELETOR NOT SHOWING ON DASH. HORN NOT WORKING. BOOT NOT WORKING. PETROL CAP NOT WORKING. THE ONLY KEY FAULTY. MISSING ENGINE COVER BOLTS ,ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ON DUE NEEDING SERVICE.WAS MOTD ON 6TH SEPTEMBER HE ONLY SELLS CARS WITH A SERVICE AND FULL MOT,
CAR WONT START FOR THE LAST THREE WEEKS .I HAVE BEEN SAT WITH A VERY PRITTY HEAP OF RUBBISH ON THE DRIVE WEEKS.
ON HIS WEBSITE HE SAYS HE DID NOT SELL ME THE CAR. I ASSURE YOU HE DID, AND ITS ME HE WILL BE MEETING IN COURT.

I bought a car from here, they offered me 3 months warrenty. Which they don't even care about. They said they will cover the cost of the gearbox replacement. But they never made their promise. Please avoid these people. Buying a car from them is a real pain. It's the worst service you will ever receive from a dealer. Please don't waste your money.

Wouldn't bother with these guys, happy to waste your time to benefit themselves. On 2/9/23 I looked at a car and put down a £795 deposit to pick up the car later on in the week - called back on 4/9/23 to say I would pick it up end of the week and when I called again to say Im on the way they then say the car isnt there and in the garage getting work done.

For another 2 weeks they claim the car is still getting work done and 'more issues' keep showing up and that they will cancel the deal. When looking at the car they said they perform health checks on all their cars and that there was nothing wrong with it - so they either lie about doing these checks or cant do the job properly. When asked what the new ‘issues’ were with the car the question wasn’t answered. Additionally, after a week from putting the deposit down, when searching up the number plate of the car it didnt show up on any systems which indicates that the plates had been changed. Why would they change the plates of the car? Probably because they sold it to someone else and they changed them. When questioned about this they never answered the question and just said 'it should have the same reg, i'll look into this for you' each time.

On top of all this after saying they're cancelling the deal, had to wait almost a week to get my deposit back, with them saying 'we'll look into it and sort it'. A simple bank transfer doesnt take over a week to do.
Throughout the whole time I had to be the one chasing them down as there was no proactivity from them to contact me.

The same as the previous comment, i was sold a car in February that had a number of problems and i wasnt made aware or the 3month warranty until i called them back the other day explaining the ongoing problems that i have had with the car. But of course by then it was too late. I have spent more then its worth fixing it.
I believe they took advantage of the fact that it was my first car and i didnt know what i was doing.
They are not to be trusted! And seeing the previous comment tells me that im right. Dont buy a car from them!

Terrible/ unprofessional company with dodgy staff, sold us a car which had numerous problems and now the gearbox is failing - have threatened us and told us to ‘take them to court’ - very arrogant and think they are above everyone, highly recommend not to do business with this company.
