Dishonest broker of goods of dubious quality.
I ordered a ceiling light from this company that consisted of two parts; a metal fitting with a brushed nickel finish and a glass section. I was unhappy with the brushing on the metal section as it was extremely poorly done, the nickel plating having been completely removed on the corners of the fitting and untouched around the screws, which the 'brusher' obviously couldn't be bothered to remove. As I said at the time, I could have done better myself with some fine wire wool (it looked like a wire brush had been used). The company agreed to exchange the metal part and confirmed that they would get the replacement in the post as soon as the received the original. However, on receiving the original, instead of sending the replacement, they sent a bill for postage of the new part. When I confronted them over this they refused to rectify the matter and made the rather absurd claim that this was not in contravention of the European Directive on Consumer Rights as this was a new order and that the two parts of the light were separate items, one of which I had not returned (presumably they would not have charged the additional postage if I'd sent the glass part back for them to then send it to me for a second time?!) despite the fact that the two parts were options for a single light when selected and are useless without the other part.
I do not feel that the workmanship on the light I received was in any way reflective of it's price and I find their legal claims quite bizarre. However, what has really shocked me is the dishonesty of the company in telling me that they would immediately post the part without mentioning any additional charges. Their attitude to replacement is probably the worst I've come across in over 20 years of online ordering. I for one will not be dealing with this company again except to gain full reimbursement for the item ordered.
