Total scam
Total scam. Continually charging me for bills that are for an apartment from nearly three years ago. I provided all the termination paperwork requested, but they're still charging my email each month, even after I have it In writing that we terminated services years ago. Total scam, terrible customer service. It's a lie on the brochure that you can "easily cancel any time." Lies, all lies.

This is a scam! These people are thieves- taking advantage of low ordinary people looking to save money on electricity. They charge me $481 for January 2025 when my average monthly bill from CMP is less than $90 monthly. I closed my account immediately and still got another $214 bill for February.This company should be reported to proper authorities.

This company came to my door and I stupidly accepted. They said I would be saving money on my electric bill. I signed up in 2022ish and I opened my account and it took them a year and a half to even “find” me a solar plant. By time I ended up moving to a new apartment and not even having any savings on bills I canceled my plan and they never informed me I would have to create a new account through my other electric company even tho I was still paying?!?! They need to be informed of their own Job!! They are uneducated in their own field and a horrible company. Highly do not recommend!!!

Very vague billing info. If you want to know how they calculate your bill, they refer you to each CMP bill. Arcadia doesn't bill monthly and out of the blue I got a $481 bill. I canceled because I think they are a RIP. If I cannot decifer how they bill, that's a major red flag! Also, why does it take 3 months for them to process a cancellation? I don't think the MPUC or the public advocate is protecting Maine Consumers by letting this company in the door. They have a lot of poor reviews.

DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT sign up for anything with these scammers! They told me I’d be saving money to sign up for their discounted energy prices and would NOT be charged. Well guess what. Two years later and I’m getting charged hundreds of dollars. They are liars and falsifying information! I called them and there’s basically nothing they can do and he said there would be more charges to come. They are praying on the weak here because in Maine our electric bills are very high and know that and tell you to sign up with them for “ free” to give you “discounts”. Not true! I haven’t seen them on my energy bill account at all and I have an inactive account with them!!! I hope you have a good bank who will work with you and get you your money back. Beware and run away fast when you see these lying scam artists low life idiots knocking at your door they are there to steal from you!!
I enrolled with Arcadia Community Solar…
I enrolled with Arcadia Community Solar on 9/27/2024. When an Arcadia representative came knocking on my door. On 10/11/2024. I reached out to Arcadia and requested to close all the accounts as I was no longer interested in their service. The rep (SUPRIYA) asked why I was "deactivating the account." I told her, Well, I want to close the accounts because I do not need them anymore. She mentioned it takes 90 days to have the account closed.
On Sunday, 2/9/25, I received a fraudulent charge of $3,054.37 from ARCADIA but was declined for insufficient funds. I called their number, 866.526.0083, but I was told they will look into it and get back to me. On Tuesday, 2/11/2025, I received a statement showing the charge of $3,054.37 had been reduced to $1,527.19. When I called to complain and find out why or what I was charged for since I cancelled the service on 10/11/2024 after enrolling on 9/27/2024.
The company is not what people think they are; they mentioned they help you save on electric bills, but that is not the case.
These were attempted fraudulent charges for services that never occurred or took place.

This company is to be avoided at all costs, especially in Maine. For some reason there is a loophole allowing more than one solar company to be on any given customers account. This means that someone can be basically paying their bill twice (or more) for the same amount of electric. Although the companies are supposed to do what they can to make sure this doesn't happen this company did nothing and when the situation presented itself, they basically said that the contract was the contract. Additionally, after my account was inactivated in July of last year, I received charges over 4 months later and when I called they said again...it was allowed in their contract. When asking tp speak with someone else to appeal it, I was told that was "the end of the line" and when I asked for a recording of the call, I was hung up on.
Truly avoid at all costs. I will be filing a well deserved complaint with the BBB and with the attorney generals office in Maine

Be very afraid. One of the worst run companies out there. There claims of savings are extremely misleading and their billing department is a nightmare. I discontinued the service in July of 2024 and just had my credit card billed for over $100 claiming I still owe them money from Spring of 2024.

WE signed up about a year ago. It took a couple of months to get the billing synchronized, but we are saving money and getting good service. I have no qualms about recommending Arcadia to others.

This company is a ploy to steal your money. Once you cancel, they continue to charge you from all of your added up "credits" for months. You can't even remove your credit card from the website, it's wild.

The salesperson (male, from out of state) was very professional. It took a while for this to get processing and there was a surprise bill eventually but I think there are savings overall. I'm not inclined to stop this anytime soon and possibly I am doing good by doing well. I think maybe better for homeowners in primary residences but I have not run the numbers thoroughly..however I live in Maine and enjoyed low summer bills.

They are double billing me 6 months late. I have emailed 2 times and called once to cancel but they don't do it. I seem to be paying hundreds more than needed and it is very frustrating
False Advertising, Bait and Switch
I began using Arcadia in July of last year. Up until this point, it met my expectations. I saved a few pennies on each ConEd bill, as advertised, for using Arcadia's solar energy in my region. However, I just received my most recent Arcadia statement to the tune of $765.21. My ConEd bill for this billing period is only $109.98. So where is this additional cost coming from?
According to my email with an Arcadia customer support agent, “It is essentially your repayment for the solar credits that reduced your ConEd bill.” I am being asked to repay, in excess, for the savings that I was promised. Therefore there are no savings.
Arcadia is practicing false advertising, and is a bait and switch operation. It is unfortunately taking advantage of consumers across the country.
The positive reviews here on Trust Pilot are no doubt from customers that have not yet received their surprise bill for "solar credits".
Essentially, you will pay a large fee to fund Community Solar. You have no way of knowing what that fee will be or when it will be charged. In return, you will receive small discounts on your energy bill, but the surprise fee will completely override any savings that you saw on your bill.
I recommend that if you have not yet been hit with this bill, cancel your account immediately before you are taken advantage of by this company.

Complicated, but there are small savings
The negative views expressed here are mostly about billing, which is nonlinear. Once you are in the program and "get" space on a farm, things settle down. Billing is ALWAYS months in arrears, which is unfortunate because it confuses people. It has taken a spreadsheet and a year to stabilize the economic advantage offered here, which is minimal; but we have to start to save the planet somewhere. When you are fully integrated into their system, expect them to offset around 50% of your electric bill. They will bill you for that offset, less a small discount. In my case, in Cook County Illinois, the savings stabilized at 5% of the total ComEd bill, and about 10% of the Arcadia offset. It's not much, but we have to start somewhere, and hey, you get to save 5% of your bill while being a solar advocate. The Arcadia billing is delayed by 3-4 months, which I think just confuses a lot of folks.
Charges continue after you cancel
This company is a huge scam. Your bill will be higher and you’ll continue to be charged long after you cancel your account with Arcadia.

In NJ we are fortunate that Community solar is an option
I am concerned about climate change, and my house is unsuitable for solar panels. At an Eco Fair, I spoke with a representative from Solar Landscape, a community solar developer, and soon subscribed to a nearby solar field in Dayton, NJ. Arcadia has managed this account and we consistently get at least $20 off each electric bill from PSE&G. A great program for the many of us who cannot install panels directly! We've had this for several years now.
