Algarve Removals came highly recommended, and I have to say the whole process was extremely slick. They had great communication, professional, and polite. Fantastic customer service, always prompt.

It was amazing that they managed to get to our place, as it is literally in the middle of nowhere, but they did it. 100% recommend them.

We have again used the services of Algarve Removals to bring over an item from the UK.. The team in the office took delivery today at their office in Essex and the box is being put on the trailer that is leaving tomorrow. 1st class service

I have lived in Portugal for the past 15 years, and although i have been able to get most of what I need over here, somethings I can only get in the UK.
These are the times I use Algarve removals. I just send the items to the UK branch, they notify me when the goods arrive, I pay, they notify me when my goods arrive in Portugal and I collect. Its simple and it just works.
In all the times I have used them, I have never had a single breakage or missed delivery.
For that, I would like to thank the teams in both countries, and also the drivers for doing a truly excellent job.

Great experience right from the start, the team arrived to collect when they said they would, brought all our items to Portugal (no damage to anything! We had large mirrors that we feared might break!) The delivery team were super polite and took all the items to the rooms they were needed... highly recommended

Having moved many times, both locally and internationally, Algarve Removals was the absolute worst moving company I have ever dealt with. It started off promisingly, with a responsive sales/client services staff answering my questions promptly but went down hill rapidly from moving day onwards, (which is what really counts)!
When I asked them about why they did not have FIDI or IAM membership they said those don't really matter and they are just a small business. I like supporting small businesses, so I went along with that explanation, but in retrospect I would never embark on an international move with a removal company who lacked these important credentials ever again.

Be sure you get a binding estimate as Algarve doubled the fee AFTER packing us up. There's not much you can do at that point but pay it, which I'm sure they are aware of.

We payed extra for delicate kitchen items to be professionally packed, as well as for a painting and musical instrument to be crate-packed. The crate packing never happened (at least they refunded us for that) and the kitchen items were literally thrown into boxes and taped up--no special wrapping or bubble wrap. Luckily nothing was broken but that's no thanks to the packers who did an appalling job. The agent they chose at our destination was not a good reflection on Algarve and was a nightmare to deal with.
We finally did get all our belongings delivered from the local agent (it took them several days as they did not have the adequate vehicle size to do it at once) but it was not a positive experience. An antique furnishing arrived severely damaged. Algarve gave us the distinct impression they could not have cared less! In all the relocations I've been through, this was undoubtedly the worst. Maybe they are okay if you are simply moving a few items to mainland Portugal, but based on my experience I would never use their services again.

Just used Algarve Removals for return of personal effects from Algarve to the UK.
A first class service all round.

I know I came to write to you far away of my moving from UK, Bournemouth to Lisbon, Portugal at beginning of May 2025.
But all this time never let to think about my great experience with you "Algarve Removals".
I would like to say THANK YOU for all attention I received and care with my stuff. In April/May many thinks were happening in my life (good challenges) and one was my big move and return to Portugal. All emails and conversations with your company and in special with Miss Bonita Starkes make me relax and be reassured I choose the best company to move. All the move was smooth, with great care of my stuff and all necessary documentation. All my stuff arrived in perfect conditions. I want to thank you from all workers within the company, from Miss Starkes and her colleagues, the Director Scott (answered my emails on a weekend/out of hours), from the "guys" whom collect my stuff and wrapped with care to the company in Portugal whom delivered my stuff with great care too.
I'm really thankful for all your assistance and want to let you know.

Algarve Removals contacted the pool company, they agreed to collect from the UK factory and deliver to me in Portugal.

This was my first time using Algarve Removals, or moving furniture from UK to Portugal. The entire operation was really good! The quotes are really reasonable, and includes customs fees and even insurance. The team on both ends are friendly and professional and they are give you a one hour time slot to deliver the items and stick to it. I've already recommended them to my friends in Portugal and I'll be contacting Algarve Removals again in the future.
