I have found Accord to be very good to deal with, as I have been able to talk to the decision makers with a complex case. Where there were hurdles they asked the question to help overcome the challenges rather than putting obstacles in the way.
I have found this to be the same every time I have dealt with them.

Worst experience I’ve ever had. Me and my partner are first time buyers and we had the worst experience with accord mortgages. We had put in our full application through our broker who had chased them up every week for us for an update to only be told they are requesting more documents. Every week a new document was being requested which we provided within the hour, then after 10 long weeks it had suddenly been pulled for audit and they refused us after 11.5 weeks which has caused us to loose out on the property we had wanted. Don’t use this lender they are a waste of time and their underwriting team clearly doesn’t know what they are doing.

Always a great experience with Accord. The application is easy and you know they will always work with you to get a case over the line.

I thought it was amazing and will look to place more clients with Accord. Between the BDM talking through a new enquiry to speaking with the underwriter and getting the mortgage offer in good time.

Outstanding journey, clear and concise underwriting with timely feedback, BDM also helped escalate for exchange and completion with in 2 weeks from application.

On a number of cases Underwriting seems to be ticking boxes vs. considering specifics and dealing appropriately. One one case I have been asked for a Gift of Deposit letter where deposit is equity from sale following a split (with my client receiving a great share). I asked for clarity / wording that would be acceptable but in response Underwriter just re-posted the initial query. I had another case (appealed successfully) where Accord declined a property as ex-commercial (it was a luxury gated development in an old mill).

Handled the case quickly, understood the clients income and didn't request or ask for unnecessarily information.
The added hamper to the clients is a great touch too.

last minute change on the application meant it had to be resubmitted to add another applicant to an offer that had already been issued. new app was resubmitted on the Friday and then old paperwork was cross-referenced with new and it had offered by the following Tuesday. great service just when it was needed.

I placed a residential mortgage with Accord recently and I'm very impressed at how easy their portal was to use and how smooth the whole process was. I was kept informed every step of the way and the broker team were all very professional and polite when I rang them. A special thanks to you all and also to my BDM Samantha Thomas, who has been supportive and knowledgeable with regard to my queries. Overall really pleased with the service and just to add as well that I love the "The Growth Series Podcast" as well, I listen to them and as a broker, its really good to listen to the episodes and they are just great.
