I'd give this review no stars if I could. My IFA has been arranging a remortgage through Accord. I've been a customer for 5 years.

The "Senior Underwriter" has been struggling to make the affordability work for 2 weeks. Back and forth every 48 hours as they allow 48 hours timeframe to reply. 3 weeks later my IFA pointed out to her that she has put the wrong figures provided by my accountant, HMRC SA302 and IFA into the affordability form. She copy and pasted the wrong amount and was £15,000 down on my income. To add fuel to the fire the "Senior Underwriter" doesn't work on a Friday and works part-time hours so the whole process is over timeframes set out on their website.

When told the underwriter had the wrong numbers she didn't apologise to my IFA and has now booked a valuation which we paid for 2 weeks ago.

All in all a complete shambles - massively impacting my mental health. Avoid this company at all costs.

As a mortgage broker i had a very tricky case. Underwriter Sam McNamara went above and beyond and opened a direct line of enquiry with me via email and phone. If she didn't do this, the case would have been a disaster. In a world where underwriters put up a wall between brokers and customers, Accord have got it right, and Sam is a true credit to how underwriting and broking should be as a joint effort to get the best result for the customer. Our customer is extremely happy and i've made it clear to them that having Sam on our side was the best way we were able to achieve their offer. Thank you!

Our firm has used Accord on occasion in the past but mainly for high value loans on residential purchases for clients who have diverse incomes or were business owners. This was our first time submitting a case where the client had some recent history of missed payments (within the last 12 months). Accord were very receptive to this case where a number of other lenders weren't (pretty much ALL lenders). They could look at the client's credit file and deem it was purely circumstantial. From Decision in principle to Offer the case took 2 weeks and the client had their mortgage complete within the same month of submission. I could not be happier with the service and the outcome. Our client said it was life-changing and Accord helped that happen!

The only drawback was the mortgage case was a port and top up case and it was done manually and paper based.
