Bought a deployment strap for my watch.
The clasp just isn't up to the job if you value your watch. My own fault given the value of the item, but this would be problematic on any watch. The deployment clasp only has to be knocked and it'll release.

Excellent Strap, Poor Deployment Clasp

I have mixed feelings about this strap. On the positive side, the leather strap itself is genuinely excellent. The calf leather feels premium, the perforated design looks great on a sports watch, the stitching is neat, and overall build quality is exactly what I was hoping for. Delivery was also fast and efficient, with the order arriving sooner than expected.

Unfortunately, the deployment clasp lets the whole package down.

While deployment clasps are often marketed as a premium upgrade, this particular implementation is awkward and frustrating to use. Adjusting the clasp is far more fiddly than it needs to be, and finding the correct fit takes far longer than with a traditional buckle.

The biggest issue, however, is comfort. If you have a relatively small wrist, the strap wraps too far around the deployment mechanism, causing the clasp to sit in the wrong position underneath the wrist. Rather than sitting neatly and centrally, the metal components create a bulky lump on one side that makes the watch feel unbalanced and prevents it from sitting flat against the wrist.

This appears to be a common issue with deployment clasps when strap lengths are not optimised for smaller wrists. Many watch enthusiasts report that the clasp can end up off-centre, creating pressure points, discomfort, and an awkward fit. Some users even resort to reversing the strap orientation or replacing the clasp entirely to achieve a comfortable wear. (IWC Collectors Forum⁠)

In daily wear, I found myself constantly aware of the clasp, which is not something I expect from a quality watch strap. A good strap should disappear on the wrist; this one never quite does.

It’s frustrating because the leather strap itself is genuinely high quality and would easily deserve a much higher rating. If Wrist Envy offered the same strap with a traditional tang buckle, or a better-designed deployment clasp with more suitable sizing options for smaller wrists, I would happily buy another.

Good quality watch straps

It's the little things that make the difference. I had an Amazon strap for a good while. It was fairly inexpensive and did the job, but it went shiny and didn't look particularly great, it looked the price I paid for it which was sub-£10. It was coming to the end of its life so I was looking for a new one and came upon Wrist Envy. Whilst it's difficult to tell from the pictures, this strap is a notch above. The bitter ends properly bite in and secure the strap. The profile of the strap has raised and lowered ridges / dips alternately for each hole and this makes a real difference in securing the strap. It looks good, it feels robust and it was sent out quickly which is also really helpful. So, overall, very happy.
