I like WPML because it provides a clear and easy to manage interface for multilingual contents publishging in our website. It helps keep terminology consistent across translations. Another important advantage is that previous translations can be saved and reused, making content management more consistent and faster.

Great translation with almost zero mistakes

I used WPML to translate a 71 page website into 3 additional languages without realizing WPML was not yet compatible with Divi 5. Changes made to the translated pages kept being overwitten with English. Mohamed Badawi provided excellent support and PHP code that resolved the problem. Very professional and expert support.

They charged my card without any cause, did not send an invoice - and since my account is inactive, there is no way to contact support? WHAT A BUSINESS!!!!

WPML does what it promises: it makes your WordPress site multilingual. The core functionality is solid, and support responds quickly. But after years of using it, the honest verdict is: it's a plugin that requires constant attention.

Every major update — whether from WPML itself, Elementor, WooCommerce or any other plugin in your stack — is a moment of "fingers crossed." Things break in unexpected ways. Fonts stop loading. Layouts shift. Compatibility lags behind: when Elementor introduced Atomic Widgets, WPML took weeks to catch up. You're always waiting on someone.

The configuration is extensive. This is not a plugin you install and forget. Every detail needs manual setup, and edge cases keep surfacing. It works, but it feels cobbled together rather than engineered as a whole.

A specific frustration: WPML introduced the Advanced Translation Editor as their flagship translation tool, yet XLIFF import — a standard industry format — only works with the old Classic Editor. When asked about this, the response was that it's "too complex to implement." For a paid plugin at this price point, that's a hard answer to accept, especially when the Advanced Editor is also the gateway to their paid translation credits.

If you need multilingual WordPress and are prepared to invest time in maintenance, WPML gets the job done. Just don't expect it to stay done.

We had a rather complex issue with our multilingual WooCommerce shop that wasn't easy to diagnose. Throughout the entire process, the WPML support team was patient, professional, and genuinely committed to finding the root cause instead of offering quick workarounds.

The communication was excellent, and the support engineers worked together with their second-level team until they identified the correct solution. In the end, enabling "Adjust IDs for multilingual functionality" completely resolved the issue.

I especially appreciate the dedication of the support team. They stayed engaged until everything was working correctly, which gave us a lot of confidence in WPML.
