We ordered a milk, dark and Japanese tasting box just before Christmas and it arrived very promptly.
We enjoyed the notes in the box and watched the 25 minute video as we ate the chocolate.
The video was engaging and informative, Willie's passion is great. The chocolates were interesting and delicious. We spent a lovely, enjoyable hour watching, tasting and discussing. We are super impressed and would definitely recommend to anyone! Thank you so much.

Delayed order - but speedy, helpful customer service
I was sceptical about ordering from Willie's due to the mixed reviews they have. However, I have been pleasantly surprised by the customer service.
My order is late, which is annoying, but the customer service has been good and they've replied to me promptly.
They kindly refunded my delivery cost at my request, which I received instantly, and let me know one of my items is out of stock which they also refunded. They also gave me a time frame on when my order will be dispatched which is very helpful.

Best milk chocolate I've ever had
Best milk chocolate I've ever had! I have been on a quest to find a milk/dark milk chocolate that was as good as the old bittersweet version of Gala Peter that I enjoyed as a kid. Have munched through many good quality bars, but all were disappointing, either because the quality of the chocolate was poor, or there was too much sugar, or the texture was too waxy. But this bar really hit the spot! I'm going to make sure I always have a bar in stock for when I crave the really good stuff. Too expensive to eat every day, but a real treat once a week or so. And the ingredients are all top-notch with absolutely no rubbish, so you get what you pay for with this. All in all, an absolute winner.

AVOID THIS COMPANY - Free gifts offered are clearly a scam!
I put in an order, largely due to a free gift that was offered. My order was a gift to an unwell friend. Order arrived today, no free gift included, even though it was on the packing slip. The free gift was still showing on their website today. I emailed them and was just told "yeah, it's out of stock". No offer to replace it for something similar. Shockingly arrogant response. I can see from previous reviews that this is something of a pattern for them. I'll be contacting trading standards (as I see someone else here did), as well as contacting the consumer watchdog. It's an incredibly poor way to treat customers, not to mention unethical.
Exceptional Quality, Incredible Value
As a devoted chocolate lover, I can confidently say that Willies Cacao stands head and shoulders above the rest, particularly for their bean-to-bar dark chocolates. It's truly impressive to know each bar takes 3+ weeks to craft, and you can taste that dedication in every bite.
I've explored their entire range, and what sets them apart is the distinct character of each origin. Their Rio Caribe and Chulucanas bars are beautifully mild, offering delightful nutty and nuanced flavors that are incredibly approachable. On the other hand, the Sambirano (from the award-winning Bejofo Estate in Madagascar) and Surabaya are a revelation – intensely fruity, almost like a 'love it or hate it' marmite experience, but for true connoisseurs, these are pure magic.
Beyond the exceptional quality, Willies Cacao offers incredible value. They are, without a doubt, the cheapest bean-to-bar chocolate in the UK without compromising an inch on quality.
Their commitment to pure ingredients extends to their milk chocolate too. While milk can sometimes mellow the intensity, Willies' milk chocolate still boasts clean ingredients (no emulsifiers!) and a far superior taste to any commercial alternative.
Their customer service is equally impressive. A special shout-out to Holly from their team, who went above and beyond when Royal Mail lost my package – she promptly resent my order with express delivery, which was greatly appreciated.
Furthermore, it's reassuring to know their dedication to safety and quality extends to sourcing. When I inquired about heavy metal content, they confirmed they adhere to EU regulations and conduct third-party testing, with some of their chocolates even being organic.
Willies Cacao is a must-try for anyone who appreciates real, artisanal chocolate. You won't be disappointed!

Very disappointed with the amount of chocolates for nearly £10! Wouldn’t waste my money again.
Disappointing
I was really disappointed by my recent experience. I wasn't sent a free gift that I was promised. It took an awful lot of emails and some advice from trading standards for me to get the free gift that I was owed. I've had no response from Willie's at all, I was just eventually (after over a month of constantly emailing them) sent two of the free gifts in the post but some acknowledgement would have been nice. I really think that with a premium product like this, the customer service needs to improve.

I have tried most dark chocolate but this the most flavoursome of any. You can really taste the fruity notes. I have ordered many times and had no issues

We are on our 4th box of truffles: tried raspberry, matcha, green tea and dark chocolate - all of them are fabulous!!! Can really taste the flavours and chocolate melts in mouth.
Tried orange and almond
Tried orange and almond, I love chocolate but this is the first chocolate that I could not eat ,it was awful. It was like eating compacted dust. I gave a piece to my wife and she could not even eat the small piece I gave her. Who ever approved this needs to go, sack them immediately.
Great customer service
Order off the website and unfortunatly the packaging got damaged whilst in transport. Emailed them and a replacment was sent out very quickly. Will defently be re-ording again in the future.
A wonderful Birthday Box
We were given an amazingly large box of Willie's Cacao chocolates for our joint 80th birthday and are enjoying every morsel. For two people who remember the difficulties of sweet rationing when we were fortunate to taste something pleasant only occasionally, it opened our eyes to the delights which we can enjoy today. Thank you, all concerned in the manufacture and sale of these goodies, for creating such masterpieces. It was such a good day for Devon when you decided to set up your factory here! And for employing some lovely people too.

Customer service and chocolates can be hit and miss
The chocolate quality varies. For example a flavour is developed for one type of chocolate and then repeated across milk, white and dark without any regard to whether it really suits the other types of chocolate. This make for some delicious and some rather more dubious and not so pleasant eats, particularly as one either needs to buy three at a time or buy them along with other plain chocolate bars. The plain dark chocolates bars are - for all the colourful words - not that different and you can get far more variation within other chocolate houses. The one plus point is that they don't put too much sugar in their dark bars and their dark chocolate caramels are divine.
Their systems can't seem to cope with the volume of traffic their website gets. I had one instance where because I had screen shots they conceded that I had not got the free chocolate spread advertised on their website and sent it. However I recently ordered when there was a free postage and truffles offer on their website if you spent a certain amount. I did not receive any free truffles and they first of all did not reply or even acknowledge my email. When I chased up over two weeks later, they then claimed that the offer had not been on the website when I ordered. I knew that it had been as I had only gone on the website on the day of my order, but this time I had not got screenshots. I hate to have to deal with a company that is so underhand that you have to prove one's case with screenshots and that just ignores and doesn't even acknowledge customer complaints until the customer chases a second time.
They did eventually give me the truffles that had been advertised, but I don't know why they had to make it so difficult.
Double charged. And no response from customer service.
The first time I tried to pay, I was told the transaction didn’t complete and to try again. I did so and was duly charged twice, with confirmation emails immediately following the second transaction, but not the first minutes earlier. They haven’t replied to emails re: the double charge, and after an automated email saying the goods would arrive today they haven’t. Will contact the bank to force a refund, watch out.
Incomplete gift set and no customer service response
I ordered two chocolate drinks sets in November which were supposed to come with recipe cards so you could make drinks with the enclosed alcohol bottles. I contacted them in November via their website when the gifts arrived minus recipe cards. I contacted them again last week - explaining I needed the cards so I could deliver the presents. No response- except an automated "I'll be back to you on Monday". Which they weren't.
I've checked the website and only one of the recipes online seems to reflect the contents of the box - assuming I add a bottle of champagne. Crummy customer service and I have to deliver one of the presents tomorrow.
I buy from them every Christmas and Easter and buy their chocolate bars in Sainsbury's but this has really put me off. Which is a shame as the chocolates themselves are lovely.
26/10 Tried to order a subscription…
26/10 Tried to order a subscription from Australia to be delivered to my mum in UK. Only accepts direct debit as payment for subscription so I fill out that form and it says completed. Birthday comes and goes and I email, 03/11 next day I receive a short response that says "I have checked our orders using your email address and name and can see that payment is pending.
I will check just in a couple of days as it takes a minimum of 7 days for banks to pass direct debit payment onto us."
14/11 Ten days later I contact them to say I can still not see any deduction from my account.
21/11 No response
