Wifi Hire Omdömen 

Ordered and received a router. Worked great until I tried to extend the hire period. I keep getting emails being told to respond to the hire confirmation email. Except I DIDNT GET ONE! No it’s not in spam. I can’t find it anywhere.
I’ve been trying to contact them for 12 DAYS! I’ve emailed and emailed and get generic emails back telling me to respond to a confirmation email that I don’t have. I’ve even now managed to pay to extend the WiFi through a link in one of the emails reminding me the hire period is up. But despite the extra payment the router has been cut off. So now I’m out of pocket too. Just the most impossible company to try and get hold of. No contact number. The website says they respond quickly to emails. Except they don’t. They don’t respond at all!!!!!!
Just avoid.

I have received this router today for temporary home internet and unfortunately the speeds are awful and means the internet is non functioning. It’s a shame as the idea is brilliant but with 1mbps download speeds and 0.22mbps upload speeds, this isn’t useful for its intended purpose. I should say we aren’t in particularly rural area, we get solid 4G signal on our phones through our mobile provider and brilliant broadband speeds from Sky.

In response to the reply below - I emailed on Monday and never got a response. It’s now Saturday.

needed wifi as an urgent stopgap after relocation and speed of delivery, customer service communications and response was all good. The wifi service itself can only be good as local mobile signal response and therefore can be variable but it proved adequate for our needs. Wifi hire did suggest a trial to see if we could connect ok. Refund of deposit was made quickly and it was easy to return the unit.

We’ve received no response to their online form when we reported the ongoing poor signal when connecting more than one device. Even on one device it drops out which is challenging when working from home. Cannot find a phone number to call or a contact option on social media. Having to resort to writing a review to get a response but also to warn others. Would not recommend.

Update following WifiHire’s edited response:
I replied to the receipt email on 10th Feb to info(a)wifihire.co.uk, but that bounced back (something to do with untrusted domain). On this receipt it simply says 'If you have any questions, contact us at info(a)wifihire.co.uk', and that is the problem - it should state there that customers should reply to the confirmation email NOT the receipt, as we lost valuable time establishing that.

Our issue was dealt with quickly once the proper method of communication was established, and they did issue a partial refund following a long list of reasons why they shouldn’t but begrudgingly will. However, we still had a non-working router initially due to issues with the network provider it connected. The network provider should be checked for coverage in the area it will be used in before sending the device. The note on the email stating to email info(a)wifihire.co.uk with any questions needs removing from the receipt as it does not work.

Received my hub on time, posted it back and received my deposit back without delay.

I will try them again in the future. They made an error in shipping address, so I couldn't use the router but they also didn’t charge me anything. I'm giving them 4 stars because they were very reasonable when the UK storm Eowyn stopped me sending the router back on time and they didn’t fine me.

Using the site was quick and easy, the wifi device arrived quickly and worked with no problem from the day we got it to the day we sent it back (the return was also super easy as it came with a prepaid return label). The customer service/response to email was impressively quick and efficient, and polite. I extended our rental by a couple of days and this again was simple to do. I would definitely recommend this company as they made a stressful experience (having no wifi for the first month after moving house just before Christmas!) that much easier.

At the time of writing this I have paid £346 for poor WiFi and even worse customer service. This is from mid November 2024 to 28th Dec 2024. I have had the unfortunate luck of having no network access after moving home and had to purchase WiFi from this company whilst awaiting connection.

From the off the connection was extremely poor, buffering and had to wait on another router to be sent out after providing 3 network readings to the company.

Customer service are always available when they are looking more money of me but have ignored 11 email requests for their address to return their products and a refund of my monies for days that they failed to provide any service remotely as well as my deposit of £50. (I lost their address in the moving home / Christmas period - it happens, but I’ve been very clear that I will incur the return costs).

£346 for around 7 weeks makes this company no better than Payday Loans and people need to be very wary of how they capitalise on people’s vulnerabilities.

Given their deliberate failure to respond to my communications and their failure to return my monies, I will be seeking guidance from Ofgem

Life saver when Virgin let me down! Fast and reliable!

Pretty straightforward and easy to use service. Hotspot worked, instructions were used to understand. I extended the rental by a few days and they made that very easy to do. Customer service very responsive and helpful

Zero stars. We hired a mobile wifi dongle, and it arrived with an incorrect charging cable (they supplied a USB-C and not a mini USB) so the dongle ran out of battery; the little battery it did have, the wifi did not function correctly and the wifi was showing red. We use these mobile wifis for events, so we really a charged and fully working wifi. They provided neither.

On top of that: the customer service doesn't operate on a weekend (email only) and then they proceeded to ignore the complaint and say that there was nothing wrong with the wifi dongle. I requested a refund but they have refused to refund anything and still hold my deposit, despite sending the Mobile device back to them on time.

I've never dealt with such a bunch of amateurs and crooks.

Perfect for moving house when your WiFi provider takes 6 weeks to sort your internet! Had to extend it a few times but was very easy to do and team respond quick to emails! Box so easy to use literally turn on and crack on! A****

SO bad.
They charge me £114 for 14 days. When the hub arrives it hardly works, I cant even load a page quicker than 10 minutes.
They ask me to send them a speed test, which I do, and obviously it reads terribly. They send me out a different device, which they posted out late because they are useless.
Then, I ask to not pay the full price for the previous week where they wasted my time and money, they say no because technically I had intermet.
Rubbish.

We needed temporary wifi for about 3 weeks and found wifi hire .
I thought the price was rather expensive to be honest but when you actually weigh up your other options it wasn’t the most expensive .
Did a little research on the company and decided to give it a go .
We couldn’t have wished for a better service , the router came on time and worked perfectly , our deposit was returned within a couple of days of me sending the device back which was impressive .
I did contact customer services one time to ask a question and they responded pretty much straight away .
Stress free experience but a little expensive .

Terrible service while we were in London, Liverpiol and Birmingham. Relied on hotel and restaurant wifis.
